Spent the last two days trying to clean the roof of the van, at least another day to go. Despite being washed fairly regularly it still seems to attract marks which are difficult to remove and of course I can't reach every part. Not sure I would feel safe getting up on the roof! After cleaning with Autoglym  Super Resin Polish I am wondering if I should try a wax polish on top to try and protect it? Maybe next year I will get a professional in!!!

We haven't got a clue when we'll get our second vacc. and don't know how far in advance we'll be given the dates. Looks like it could coincide with our first attempt to get away so we're hoping it wont spoil our plans.

Cloudier here today but not cold, visiting dog arriving any minute and more jobs to do outside. All the seeds in the greenhouse have sprouted, veg and flowers, so further work ahead. smile

Brue, I obviously cannot give accurate dates etc for your area BUT,  my bookings all came from GP Surgery onto my m-m-mobile phone.

First came on 11th Jan  --  booked for 13th Jan

Second came 10 weeks later 24th March ~~ booked for 31st March  11 weeks to the first puncture yell

May your vaxiziz sprout as productively as your seeds  wink

Snap!  Well virtually so!!  We've also spent part of the last two days cleaning the roof.  Used a mixture of Fenwicks and a dry wash.  Yes, there are bits we can't quite reach, and yes, not happy about getting on the roof.  Hopefully we'll finish the roof tomorrow.  We've got mainly around the roof skylights left to do - need to do them from inside the van.  Like you, David, we've wondered if we should get a professional in next time.

Suffering this morning after a busy day in glorious sunshine, yesterday.  I didn't realise I could ache in so many places! Ros decided it was time to smarten up the outside before we started going away again - less than two weeks to our first trip and counting every daykiss

So - shed is now painted as is the high fence and garden gate at the front and then the log store behind it.  Took off all the various hinges and catches and sprayed them black - so it really does look smart.  Looks a lot better than I feel!

Methinks a much less strenuous day is called for, todaywink

Different sort of tiredness here to Rufus. Drove to see son DIL & new grandson,.even more lovely than I could have imagined 😍❤♥💖 to see them all.

Glorious day in their garden even prepared our picnic lunch out there rather than the garage. 4 hours passed in the blink of an eye. Christmas presents exchanged, baby gifts and cards too. Usual new born interruptions, well one feed and much sleep..but we were allowed cuddle each 😱🥰 real added bonus and surprise. Baby was infection free after precautionary dose but DIL still on antibiotics so extra tough. But they're settling well, midwife says most chilled baby she's met 🥰. Son starts new job next week, great timing and DIL had a visual farm meeting avoiding a farm visit to resolve an issue, thank goodness for WhatsApp 🤣.

Far more traffic than I expected. Dog into daycare to reduce chaos a bit. Their dog delighted to see us she's only been home a day herself so a young dog as well into the mix 😱.  Luckily I'd set up a friend on standby for collection at the end of the day. Just as well. Just at the start of A14 slip road speed restriction, then incident sign,.reduced speed restriction- joke as we were stationary in 3 lanes. Took the opportunity to put in place the standby arrangements. As it turned out we would have been back with minutes to spare but took the pressure off. I have to say there are still plenty of mad drivers out there - overtaking on the inside and filling your braking distance as you're overtaking slower moving traffic. Lorries who think they'll fit in your boot........

First decent drive in well who knows? And socialising really tiring but feeling lovely.

4 cloudy window panes being replaced and a Tesco COLLECTION,.mustn't forget, early afternoon. Enjoy your day folks.

Roofs are a killer where it comes to cleaning. I had got mine to a good standard but the detritus from the adjacent Poplar has left stains although yesterday's trip to Frensham Pond, along with the world and his wife, blew the remaining seed pods and catkins off.

The car park charging annoyed me. No machine that accepted payment. All had to be done using a smartphone app or a phone call. If you don't have a mobile you are presumably 'persona non gratia'

Panic.

Phone call late last night from a very elderly villager. She'e 95 and said she wanted a card for her Mother and Father's Wedding Anniversary which falls tomorrow! Alarm bells ringing.Anyway Mrs WN finally got some sense out of her. Her GDaughter had bought a card for her as it's the elderly lady's Daughter and SiLs wedding anniversary but the card the GD bought was a birthday card! So could we get one urgently this morning as her daughter visiting later today?

So we've been on a card hunt. Brue mentioned last week about the scarcity of cards and it's true. We spent an hour trying not to go into town as it's market day but had to give in. Anyway it's all sorted now.

MiLs birthday as well today so we're off this afternoon to Bodnant Gardens near Conwy.

Had the workman here first thing to fit a new blind in the bathroom that has just had a new window.

Coffee over so must get a move on. Plenty to do before we go out.

Enjoy the sunshine folks.

Lovely to hear you had a little cuddle with your new grandson.  What a lift that must have given you both.  Good luck to your son and his new job and hope your DIL gets infection free soon.

I understand we have the same vaccine for both doses ABM. Good that we are getting our 2nd jabs. Glad to hear that you had a nice sociable afternoon.

Posted on 31/03/2021 11:33

Correct MillieH,   Got successfully Jabbed this morning and under Page 2, section 3, of the Official Handout { Recipient's  Version } it states that I should receive TWO doses of the Same Vaccine,  so now I know !!

I turned up as usual in the Ducato - my only vehicle - and the parking attendant turned ashen, made two radio calls and got the correct answers !! Park the numpty directly in front of the main door so we can get rid of him pronto   wink  so she did, and I was only in there for 17 minutes including the 15 min break.

So now I'm home, the tweets are fully fed and, shortly, I will be well fed up too wink.  Then I will do what I promised to do yesterday i.e. Clean the windows  !!

Back Later --  Tara
