Following on from the introduction of the new booking system I think it would be valuable to list suggestions that could be implemented to improve the user experience of the new system. I very much hope at least some of these will be acted upon.

Just had a look on my Samsung Tablet in portrait view. Same principle as a Windows machine. Search for the site you want then scroll all the way to almost the bottom of the screen and the things that are listed across the page in Windows are listed one after the other. Just click on map and the instructions and location map will appear on screen.

David surely the links you are referring to are on the old web pages, not the new bookings site. I think wedgy, like myself initially, was looking for them on the new system.

It might be a case of separating the wheat from the chaff? I think initially some of the problems were about people not understanding the system so whilst genuine concerns were raised they may not have been "real" problems. People will of course also have an opinion on whether the system works for them. I suspect the system is now working reasonably OK and there are probably only a handful of things need attention. The requirement for the DOB being one and people wanting the old drop down site menu rather than what has been incorporated in the new system.  I am sure there are others particularly revolving around the App.

I think much of the problem, is that we can’t see a lot of them. Many of us on CT are fairly confident around computers and are quite able to dive in to sort things out. Unfortunately there are a lot of folk who are not. I know when I was at work and a new system was brought in, many, even those a lot younger than me really struggled. In the work place environment there was of course training and people like myself to give anyone in difficulty a hand. In the case of the new system, it has just been thrown out there, with relatively little prior interaction with members. For many the first they new about it might have been when they logged on and found the system changed. Yes I can certainly understand why members are moaning.

Having found the map and directions link missing on my Android phone I've now found them missing on Chromebook too. They are still there on the search and browse general web site but not on the booking system.

Customer service websites should be easily managed by anyone with even the basic computer skills, the new obviously wasn't tested its a disaster for the club, using work arounds to make the system work is not sorting the system out and does not make it a working system as the original was,  there can be no excuses for it, I dont know how much the club were loosing in no shows an short notice cancellation but I would imagine this shambles is going to cost dearly looking at comments on CT and other platforms.

It would be good to see this thread just as a snagging thread rather than for general comments about the system which can be made on other similar threads.smile

(CAMC was losing thousands of pounds in cancellations from all sources.)

Steve

You are correct, we  need the details on the new system without having to jump from the old to new.

There was a Help and FAQ button with a search facility, even that seems to have disappeared now to be replaced by Live Chat and FAQs. Is that because we are into a working week and staff are available to help?
