the club need to check the pricing. On searching Treamble Valley the from price was totally different to the cheapest cost which was in October for one person and pitch.

No it's not , I just find a site I like and book it ,often I don't know how much it is until I book in at reception cool

Lucky you huskeydog, however not all of us have money coming out of our ears, but need to work to a budget so that with a bit of careful  management of said budget we might just be able to squeeze a few extra nights away over the year!

It hasn't suddenly become a problem. I was just reiterating what BB had pointed out once the price list was opened.

What suddenly has become a problem to me is the lack of information information in the handbook. eg. no prices

Yes, I may, as someone suggested be in the, "it's always been done this way, why change" school of thought!

I am also in the school of "if it aint broke don't fix it"

The club have meddled with it and now it is broke. Hence the length of this post.

It would be nice to know why the club thought it necessary to change the system. I am not aware that they consulted the members

Well said harryb.

My thoughts exactly!

Why would they need or want to consult with members. They’ve made a decision and it is what it is.

I suspect very few rely on an old fashioned handbook/price list for pricing information - a guide yes but something will always be out of date the minute it gets printed.

As Moulsey & Corners have said, you’re going online to book and check availability so see what the final price is and book if you like it and go elsewhere if you don’t.

Funny, I popped in my local Co-Op the other day, and they’ve rearranged the shelving and now the sour grapes are in a completely different place - I ask you 😉

Mountain out of a molehill indeed Tinwheeler.

"Why would they want to consult with members" is a very pertinent question, 63eb. We don’t appoint club council members by voting for them to then have them come back to us for permission to raise prices/ alter the layout/ change the logo/ use a different brand of loo paper. As with all elected governing bodies, we empower them to make decisions on our behalf and it’s a change to see someone else recognising that.

Otherwise, keeping a dog and barking oneself becomes the order of the day.

I agree, baileyvanman, and having considered our desired "this clubs" site, which turned out to be around £30 per night we have instead chosen a site from the "other club" at around £18 per night with our age discount.... The increase in this clubs prices and the many bands have made us become very cautious indeed when booking. Very happy indeed saving the £12 per night for those 5 nights cool

I don't have money coming out of my ears ,and I still have to work to a budget, but if I can't afford it I will find an alternative. The club has set its price and that's that , just cut your cloth accordingly

Huskydog, your posting of 14:57 today says, and I quote "I just find a site I like and book it, often I don't know how much it is until I book in at reception."

To me that seems very much at odds with what you say in your posting of 17:49!

I am probably like Husky in some ways. I know that, overall, I am content with CC prices and I am happy with comparisons I have made in the past both in terms of cost and standard. That being the case I have no need to check the price for each site. Sometimes I might say 'bit pricey for that site at the time I wish to use it' but on another site on another date I I might consider the price very reasonable. Swings and roundabouts.
