Posted on 05/01/2019 11:40 by moulesyHaven't been on CT much over the past couple of weeks for a variety of reasons, so I'm coming to this debate late and may have missed some earlier comments.
It does seem to me that some folk are making more of an issue out of this than actually exists. Yes, the price change on Dec 5th was ill thought out, but where are there any insurmountable problems apart from this?
I've only booked one club site for next year - I didn't wade through all the details on the price list - I input my dates, saw the final price, thought it acceptable and booked. I've no idea if there are different prices for the dates of our stay, it's the final total which is all that's relevant surely?
It seems that one or two folk are going out of their way to suggest problems in the new way in which the club is quoting prices - playing devil's advocate here, and with tongue very much in cheek, I might suggest that they've joined the "it's always been done this way, why change" school of thought!

welcome back and happy new year.
Yes sadly some folk do like to make anything negative (which there are) far more than it is to have a go at the club, it's their way of getting through the day I suppose.
But many, if not virtually all of those who book like you and me, just see if our dates are free, see the bottom price, compare it to others and then book or not.

Posted on 05/01/2019 11:10 bySurely Harry, with regard to :
the myriad pricing periods (upto 15 or so at many sites)
the multiple price bands, upto 6 or so, some with just a 10p variance
There has long been a myriad of pricing periods. Why is it suddenly a problem?

It hasn't suddenly become a problem. I was just reiterating what BB had pointed out once the price list was opened.
What suddenly has become a problem to me is the lack of information information in the handbook. eg. no prices
Yes, I may, as someone suggested be in the, "it's always been done this way, why change" school of thought!
I am also in the school of "if it aint broke don't fix it"
The club have meddled with it and now it is broke. Hence the length of this post.
It would be nice to know why the club thought it necessary to change the system. I am not aware that they consulted the members

Why would they need or want to consult with members. They’ve made a decision and it is what it is.
I suspect very few rely on an old fashioned handbook/price list for pricing information - a guide yes but something will always be out of date the minute it gets printed.
As Moulsey & Corners have said, you’re going online to book and check availability so see what the final price is and book if you like it and go elsewhere if you don’t.
Funny, I popped in my local Co-Op the other day, and they’ve rearranged the shelving and now the sour grapes are in a completely different place - I ask you 😉
Mountain out of a molehill indeed Tinwheeler.
