I know that, overall, I am content with CC prices and I am happy with comparisons I have made in the past both in terms of cost and standard. That being the case I have no need to check the price for each site. Sometimes I might say 'bit pricey for that site at the time I wish to use it' but on another site on another date I I might consider the price very reasonable. Swings and roundabouts.

Posted on 05/01/2019 19:23 by baileyvanmanHuskydog, your posting of 14:57 today says, and I quote "I just find a site I like and book it, often I don't know how much it is until I book in at reception."
To me that seems very much at odds with what you say in your posting of 17:49!

Posted on 05/01/2019 16:20 by Tinwheeler"Why would they want to consult with members" is a very pertinent question, 63eb. We don’t appoint club council members by voting for them to then have them come back to us for permission to raise prices/ alter the layout/ change the logo/ use a different brand of loo paper. As with all elected governing bodies, we empower them to make decisions on our behalf and it’s a change to see someone else recognising that.
Otherwise, keeping a dog and barking oneself becomes the order of the day.

Yes, I understand the basics of an executive committee but do they not make bad decisions then take notice of the members who do not agree with their decision..
Just last week on site a poster proclaiming "we listened to you the members" followed by another poster saying " and this is what we did".
It was to do with the method of advanced booking for the year ahead on the old Dec start date. There were hundreds of complaints about that system so no doubt it would have been the executive committee who listened to the members and made a change to the system, So they can make a change to a system they themselves set up and that was the case, re the above example, when they considered the frustration of the members.
That is what a lot of members are asking in this topic

That's not the same point as you made earlier, Harry -
"I am not aware that they consulted the members"
Consulting and listening are two different things.
Sorry, I don’t follow your last sentence. What is it you believe a lot of members are asking?

And those members that complained because they could not get the pitches because of the Dec booking frenzy will be no better off I suspect. Many of them said it was unfair as they could not make bookings that early for the coming year. Boy the change really makes it easier for them!

indeed they changed the frenzy day after listening. They did not consult anyone before they made the changes did they?
Also I think we're thinking to0 much of ourselves if we think we got the change or represent all the members, how many regulars posters are there compared to all the membership?

here has long been a myriad of pricing periods.
Not actually fact, ET. I have the 2017/2018 site directory in front of me as I type and there are 3 levels of prices only for most sites, and some have only 2. There were no 10p differences that I can see, then!!
