the club need to check the pricing. On searching Treamble Valley the from price was totally different to the cheapest cost which was in October for one person and pitch.

I’ve more important things to worry about.

Nobody's forcing me to be a member or to use the sites. Come the day it bothers me to any great extent, I’m off.

It seems I am joining the increasing band of "members" who are not happy with the way the "pricing structure" is presented in the new directory.

1. The vast majority are couples so why have the club not advertised a price for 2 people? There can always be a reduction for a single person or an increase for a family of 4.

2. Its complicated having to work out mid-week prices and seasonal prices.

3. can someone please explain why multiple occupancy is more expensive of a site without toilet and shower facilities? does more grass get trodden down by a multiple occupancy caravan compared to a single? Heating a tank of water for one is the same cost as heating a tank so I doubt more electric is being used?

If members aren't happy with the clubs network may I suggest they visit the ACSI website where there are many sites offering a damn sight more that the CC sites.

In my view its time for a change at the top as the club has lost its focus on its core membership and instead seems hellbent on selling insurance of just about every form.

It was from a couple so it never applied to me having children, but I didn't complain. The club has now moved to one person plus pitch, but as I posted before that this misleading but you never get the from price anyway. also I wonder if the 'average' is for couples and not families, certainly not in peak maybe?

is it? when you are at the booking process it tells you the prices used for midweek and in the breakdown.

well if there is more than one person having a shower and they hot water runs out after one or two, it will have to use more electricity in heating the tank up more. Personally i feel the per person fee is fair

I really could not be concerned about such irrelevancies Nellie. This week it is £18.60. Next week it is £18.90. So what is my view. Maybe if there is an actual difference in site usage they could have set both weeks at £18.80. So what Nellie?

But it was you that stated that there'd been lots of levels of prices for a while and I was only pointing out that in fact it was only over the last couple of years. Why make the statement in the first place, if it is an irrelevance?

The prices have had several bands for years I thought Nellie - a couple of low periods. some high periods and some medium periods.

My point Nellie is that I am not faffed if it is 30p more a night one week than another

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your comments and feedback.

In March 2018, we changed our booking system to enable members to book a year ahead all year round which has been a great success and really well received.

In addition to enabling members to book more easily all year round, the Club is also making further improvements during 2019, taking into account member feedback we have received about increasing availability for members, making the online booking process simpler and faster, and offering members more deals and discounts. We will give you the details as and when they are available.

Setting prices so far ahead to enable members to book early meant that we had to predict future operating costs, such as energy and utility rates. Whilst we made every effort to predict costs accurately when we first put 2019 pitches on sale (in March 2018), we later learned that operating costs for this year are now expected to be higher than originally forecast. The largest contributing rises in costs are energy and utility costs. For example, electricity costs have risen by over 25%.  Therefore to cover the rising costs and to provide sufficient revenue for reinvestment, we had to apply a further increase onto the already published 2019 prices. The prices have now been updated and are available to all members who wish to book. There is also a UK Sites Price Guide available to download from the Club website. Much of the revenue spent by members when staying on UK Club Sites is reinvested back into the UK Club Site network and 2018 was a year of major investment, with more than £14 million invested across 13 UK Club Sites. The Club also invested in the purchase of 2 brand new sites, Cayton Village in Scarborough and Bridport Bingham Grange in Dorset. As a result members now have more choice of sites, and better quality sites to choose from. The Club will continue to invest further in 2019 and is already planning on investments beyond this year too.

Our UK site special offers are available to all of our members, so you can make sure you find your ideal site at a price to suit you. We currently have three offers available for the 2019 season; 50% off mid-week pitch fees at 49 sites, kids for £1 and our Freedom for £15 which includes pitch, two adults and up to four children for just £15.

Pitches, adults and children are all priced separately as opposed to providing an all-inclusive price including pitch and adults/children. We do this because we are a diverse membership made up of single adults, couples and families, so we believe it fairest for members to pay the appropriate fee depending on how many people are within the party.

Like many other travel or caravan site operators, the Club uses different price bands to reflect the different travel seasons - for example during the quieter times of year we operate ‘Saver’ and ‘Low’ price bands, then as the network becomes more popular ‘Mid’ and ‘High’ price bands are applied.

Also, you will find a ‘from price’ that displays the lowest price for one adult and a cheapest pitch (‘economy’ pitch). The previous handbook showed the ‘from price’ as the price for a ‘standard pitch’ plus two adults, therefore not showing the true lowest possible ‘from’ price (an economy pitch is cheaper than a standard pitch and one adult is obviously cheaper than two adults). The new ‘from price’ is the most accurate lowest possible ‘from price’ available from the Club. This approach is common for virtually all other travel and caravan site operators.

We’ve removed the pricing tables from the handbook to make more space for useful information for members when browsing the handbook. However, the price tables, showing pitch, adult and child prices are all available on each Club Site web page, and via the App, and a useful price guide is available to download from our website: here

Members who prefer to have the pricing tables to hand, are therefore able to print off the entire price guide or perhaps only the relevant pages.

We really appreciate your views and opinions and will be keeping you up to date on further improvements on Club Together so watch out for new discussions from the Club in the UK Sites area. In the meantime I will close this discussion and it has been sent to all the relevant teams at the Club for their feedback.
