Looks like we need to book before 5 December to avoid price increases.

If it is a 'binding contract' I am sure the CC will know exactly what it has contracted to charge. laughing ........... won't it?

We will see next March. 🤔

Although that booking has been off / on due to redevelopment / postponed redevelopment, all without any notification. So I am not holding my breath.😀

Price of Club site pitches and Accuracy

The indicative prices shown on our website and booking app are valid only for the duration that those prices are published. Indicative prices are subject to change at our sole discretion. In the event that indicative prices change, the new published prices will apply to new bookings made and the old published prices will not apply to new bookings.

We make every effort to display prices on our website, booking app and booking confirmation correctly. However occasionally changes and errors occur and we reserve the right to correct prices and other details in such circumstances; prices shown are therefore to be considered as indicative only. The final price for your booking will be determined when you arrive at our Club site. It is only at this point we can confirm your party accords with your booking.

It is always possible that, despite our reasonable efforts, our indicative prices for a Club site may be incorrect. Should we discover an error in the indicative price of your booking, we will confirm this and you can decide whether or not to contract for the correct indicative price. Please note that if the pricing error is obvious and unmistakeable and could have reasonably been recognised by you as a mispricing, we do not have to fulfil your booking to you at the incorrect (lower) price.

From time to time, we may need to make changes to the indicative prices. In such circumstances, the following may apply: (a) where the revised indicative price is less than the indicative price stated in the booking confirmation, we may charge the lower amount; (b) if the revised indicative price is higher than the indicative price stated in the booking confirmation, we will contact you as soon as possible to inform you of this change and provide you the option of continuing your booking at the revised indicative price or cancelling your booking (if we are unable to contact you using the contact details you provided during the booking process, we will treat the booking as cancelled and notify you in writing); or c) where the revised indicative price is higher or less than the price stated at the time of booking we may leave your booking unchanged.

The price of a booking includes VAT (where applicable) at the applicable current rate chargeable in the UK for the time being. However, if the rate of VAT changes between the date of your contract and the date of your stay, we will adjust the VAT you pay.

Hmmmm.

This refers to the 'indicative price' which is the 'From £XX.xx' as shown on the booking page and not to the contracted price. Context is all Bakers.

I agree. Just putting it out there 😉. I'm alright Jack, I have no bookings in hand. Still think it's interesting to read/watch. I wonder who will be first to test out the already booked price against the increased one? I do hope they report how it went.

The important information LINK in the email the club sent, does not say anything about having to provide proof at the time of checking in, you should just be charged the original price quoted.😂

You will still pay the original price quoted for bookings made prior to 5 Dec 2018.

On 5 Dec 2018 the prices for 2019 were updated on the website and in our systems. However, the price you pay will be discounted to the original price at check in.

I can't see how the system can provide this info, unless wardens have access to old bookings at old prices...

why would these be available as they are the very thing that's missing...

in that case, it suggests the wardens will 'calculate' the discount applicable at the till....hmm...

and who says it will be applicable without a requirement to produce your booking with that date on it?

assuming members can negotiate they are entitled to a discount it then means that every site has to have to hand the the previous prices, for adults/child/service pitch charge (if that's changed) and extrapolate by the number of each and then by the number of applicable nights....while the queue forms behind...

Exactly as I said BBsmile

The rolling booking programme was going well, new prices came into force on the website at the time usual for prices to increase (looks like April to me), and bookings made and acknowledged were at this new price.

The glitch has come because the Club had miscalculated it’s prices for the 2019 season ( slapped hand for the price setting group), and so decides to up its prices mid season. This is after thousands of folks will have gleefully adopted the rolling bookings, making bookings further in the future, so there are possibly more bookings for next year than usual.

Then the penny drops regarding operating budgets and revenue forecast, and whoops, we need to charge customers more. So a mid term price increase is put into place, which impacts on all those thousands of bookings, post April, that have already been made. To further add to the issue, an email reaches some, not all, members saying book before 5th Dec and get the original price increase, not the recalculated price increase, meaning that many more folks benefit from the original 2019 prices.

Then, someone checks with IT, whose reaction must have been meltdown.  As no doubt will be the reaction of lots of Wardens who are going to be at the sharp end of all this come April.

After April 2020, things should be ok, providing the Club doesn’t do another mid term price panic, but it’s going to be an interesting year both for the Wardens and frustrated visitors.

On the customer care front, at least the Club has honoured the booked prices, which on some sites, for a fornights holiday could be in the £40-50 region, not something folks on a budget are going to tolerate quietly. All you have to do, is prove it!wink

So which is it? This appears to have all the clarity of another 585 page document plus 26 page addendum which is exercising the minds of some 650 people.
