This is part of a reply from the Southern Region Manager after I put forward an Official Complaint after my booking was cancelled hours before departing for a break away with friends. I had booked way in advance, before other on site, yet I was cancelled!

Please accept my apologies for any miscommunication of this fact at the time and for the lack of compassion demonstrated however this cancellation was beyond our direct control and as previously advised on our Club Together Forum, cancellations are made on a ‘last booked, first cancelled’ basis. Further consideration is also given to duration of stay and the knock-on effect of surrounding bookings whilst seeking the least disruptive approach toward maintaining full site occupancy, for the benefit of the wider membership, whilst affecting as few individual members as possible.

so, due to the fact I was booked for 4 nights and travel Solo I was denied a holiday.  This is descrimination!

Yes! I am afraid, you may have entered into a contract, but if the money is more appealing from someone else, your booking is null and void!

whether couples or singles, the fact is they will take the most money and not the first in and first out route!

Please let others be aware that a booking is NOT gospel!

I am awaiting a phone call from Mr Horton, CCHQ. I am far from happy with his last reply, we will see what the outcome is when it happens.

Truly shocking treatment which gets worse with every email they send.

Pesonally I wouldn't speak to Mr Horton on the phone as I would want all correspondence by email so there is written evidence should you wish to escalate your complaint.

Under their own terms they can only cancel a booking if there is a problem to be solved that is beyond their reasonable control.  This does not appear to have been the case so they are in breach of the contractual arrangement.

Write your comments here. Exactly, so what to do now??

Not just future cancellations but future bookings by phone, will I ever know that a "Sorry we have no room" be because there is no room, or because my length of stay did not suit.Undecided

Reading your posts Vivienne has made me hopping mad.

You have been treated shockingly by the C Club - in the first instance by having your booking cancelled, contrary to the clubs terms and conditions; and secondly, by them not 'owning up' to their error and compensating you accordingly.  A proper acknowledgement of their unacceptable action is the least you should expect; a commitment to remedial staff training is also in order; and finally, how about a week's free site fees for hurt to your feelings and financial recompense for your additional expenditure?

All the best

Katie

Vivien, you were badly treated and deserved better.

Brittany Ferries hands out £50 vouchers when ferry crews go on strike and passengers are left high and dry. My daughter got £200 and the free run of an airport first class lounge and bar when an air line bumped her off a flight. Let's see how this Club makes its peace with you.

Good wishes to you and the solos.

Vivien, this has made my blood boil Yell

So, another member booked after you did but wanted to stay for 7 nights.  You had 'only' booked for 4 nights .... so they cancelled your booking!!

Un bloody believable Yell  What an absolute disgrace!

Next time , if you decide to use the CC again book 14 nights. Arrive , check in , pitch the van then tell them you have changed your mind and only staying for four nights and want a refund for the other ten.

See how they like it.

It seems to me that if we've always been told that it's last to book first to be cancelled then that is exactly what it should be.

As soon as you have a web presence and a forum you have to be transparent in your dealings and above all fair.
