Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

What are the implications for Centres? Our Centre has just invested a large amount of money for our members benefit, having new banners produced, with the Caravan Club logo printed on them, (having taken advice from the club before we went ahead). If the Club had given us prior warning that this surprise was going to take place we would not have embarked on producing something that is now obsolete. This is a shameful lack of communication by East Grinstead House

Totally agree with takethedogalong. What the club needs is a change of culture which having been a member for nearly 40 years has not changed one bit.

That is the Sergeant Major attitude that says please can you park your van with the offside rear by the peg. Most other sites say there is a pitch make sure you stay within it and safe., and please respect your fellow visitors This would attract new members more effectively than any change of Brand.

The sad thing is we have some of the best facilities in the industry and we spoil it by the stuffy regimentation talking to some site wardens it is hard to believe some of the inappropriate things they are told to say to members.

What a PR disaster.and this is day one!

A load of marketing claptrap.  The same as changing site names such as Sheepcote Valley becoming Brighton.

Disgraceful that there was no meaningful consultation with members.  There are so many other ways that this money could be spent that would be of benefit to the membership.

Completely agree! The rebranding has to go beyond just a new logo and colour palette. Cultural change is required!

I find it very sad that so many who profess to have the club's best interests at heart feel they cannot embrace this change - to go with the flow - preferring to focus instead on the way things have always been. I hope those people will eventually come to terms with the need to re-brand to encourage the next generation of "campers" to join. We must allow the board to make the commercial decisions they need to on our behalf to make this happen - without all this fuss.

What a load of old rubbish firstly the logo is awful and the colour scheme is terrible. A huge amount of money will be spent on rebranding and this could be spent on increasing the network so you can get a pitch on a bank holiday and in the summer. I cannot see a need for this as most sites are full during the summer. Although we are called the caravan club does any one even consider it is not for motor homes or that they are not welcome as much as caravans so why change the name?

Not particularly bothered with a name change one way or the other, but the new logo already looks dated and the spin is insulting.

My concern here is how much will the re-branding cost the club, after we only just got new signeage last year which has already cost a lot of money The whole thing suggests marketing people have taken over and older more experienced sensible people have left the Clubs management. Maybe we can look forward to an annual change of name/logo from now on?....

Hi Wex,

We're hoping to encapsulate the change in everything we do, and we're focusing more on the experiences that you have when touring with us.

When we say more, we mean more inspiration, inclusivity, simplicity and a pioneering spirit

Ah, thanks for the clarification!! cry

Not sure that I am even a tad wiser but stick to the script by all means R

Hi Boff,

The Executive Committee were fully involved in the decision and the project, and are fully on board with this change.

We're still trading under The Caravan Club name, so you won't need to change your cheques

Boff's question concerning consultation of members neatly dodged - the answer being paraphrased as "No, not at any time". But we live in an era of post-truths and alternative facts.

My alternative fact is our next logo (after due consultation with someone I met once who swears he received a questionnaire from the MCC) will be a trailer tent being drawn by a unicorn. Who knew that unicorns could draw... exciting huh?
