Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Hi Anturwyr,

One of our first steps into improving with the rebrand is that we're working on getting reliable wifi across all of our sites.

Posted on 21/02/2017 19:09

I'm working on a similar project for our customer wifi across our dealerships.

Although I'm Head of Marketing I've not thought about re-branding the whole company to achieve my project goal.

Hold on, I've been out all afternoon so I may have missed this. Motorhomes can reserve specific pitches? Where did that come from? If it's correct I'm going to be one very unhappy caravanner!

Posted on 21/02/2017 19:09

If this is true, I'm buying a motorhome. Oh, wait, I've got one!

I don't think it's true. It wouldn't be inclusive

I have indeed come across that acronym Ovaltineys smile So, in short:

As you may know The Caravan Club had a reputation for being stuffy, strict, and exclusive. We know that at the heart of our hobby, that's not what we're really about, and we want to change that. We’re going to focus more on the experiences and adventures that can be enjoyed by all of our current and future members.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is going to be more inclusive, knowledgable (but not bossy), and more inspirational...

Rochelle, can you give some specifics, your response is still marketing blurb.  What new Experiences and adventures are you referring to, and what does knowledgable and inspirational mean in reality.   Not having a go at you Rochelle but all I hear is waffle.

at the moment I book a pitch (having to take the morning off work in a December to do so).  I turn up, set up and that's it.  There's usually a toilet block and few things to buy in wardens office.  Then we do our own thing.

so can you explain what new experiences I will find when I turn up at Easter this year, what adventures are you providing for me.   And please explain inspirational cos I would love to know how you are going to deliver this.

the change of name and logo aside (don't feel either were necessary) what is the normal caravan club member going to see changed in simple terms.  I suspect the truth is nothing.  It's very easy to spout big words but you need some hard substance behind them.  You never know if you can bullit point the changes you might get more people interested.  As it is nobody in management has actually said anything yet.

We are quite new to both the Club and Motorhome ownership  - really like the new rebrand and logo - it does feel more inclusive so thank you!

It is also encouraging and important to embrace change and welcome membership from younger people and families to preserve the future longevity and success of the club.

Its interesting to me that the majority (though not all) of the complaints are from Caravaners - I wonder why this is? We only want to share in the fun and joy of your hobby!πŸ˜ƒ

I am very disappointed with the Club changes. For some time I have thought that the club is moving towards a motor home club and now I find that we caravaners are being treated as second class members - ie.only motor homes can reserve specific pitches.

In addition the re-branding must have cost a fortune - what a waste of money

A move to the Camping Club may well be on the cards.

Not wanting to sound insensitive to your disappointment but any chance you could forward me The Motorhome Pitch Reservation Telephone number. I never knew you could do this, every cloud! πŸ˜„

Call it what you like, just keep the fees down and act more like a club and not a business.

When I joined the CC some 35 years ago with a yoing family I was not aware of not being welcome. Has something changed in that regard??

They can call themselves Isis and have a dead cat as a logo for all I care. I don't like the new mission statement and lack of information about what they intend to do to modernise

Its like having a meal of candy floss
