Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

I am very disappointed with the Club changes. For some time I have thought that the club is moving towards a motor home club and now I find that we caravaners are being treated as second class members - ie.only motor homes can reserve specific pitches.

In addition the re-branding must have cost a fortune - what a waste of money

A move to the Camping Club may well be on the cards.

Rochelle, I haven't been able to read every post and my question may have been answered but could  you explain again in plain English not CC speak what you mean in the above answer.

If you are a visitor to the Reddit website you may have come across the acronym ELI5 which means Explain it like I'm 5 years old -this would be an even better idea

I have indeed come across that acronym Ovaltineys smile So, in short:

As you may know The Caravan Club had a reputation for being stuffy, strict, and exclusive. We know that at the heart of our hobby, that's not what we're really about, and we want to change that. We’re going to focus more on the experiences and adventures that can be enjoyed by all of our current and future members.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is going to be more inclusive, knowledgable (but not bossy), and more inspirational...

Hi Anturwyr,

One of our first steps into improving with the rebrand is that we're working on getting reliable wifi across all of our sites.

Posted on 21/02/2017 18:55

Best of luck with that, it's in the hands of BT, without access to mobile signals and distant from exchanges all the club can do is ask nicely on rebranded note paper

Anybody read the FAQs?  You couldn't make up some of the answers.  For example, "Were the members consulted?"

Answer "The change in name and logo were based on your feedback and in consultation with your representatives on the Committee. Together, we’re embarking on a journey of investment in the future of our Club."

First sentence ok, but the second?  Where did that come from?

Not my feedback, that's for sure!

Evolution, not revolution.

Was the  future change notified to club members, if so how? as I cannot recall seeing any information about it.....and not been given an opportunity to vote....so 30 years membership means nothing......Are you  prepared to refund my years subscription.

Nothing against Motor homers but maybe Caravanners should start up a Caravan Club purely for Caravans and go into competition if that is all our membership means to the Club......

Hold on, I've been out all afternoon so I may have missed this. Motorhomes can reserve specific pitches? Where did that come from? If it's correct I'm going to be one very unhappy caravanner!

Gosh, I found the new logo and name a shock as well!

Sorry, but I don't like the name or the logo, and that is that!!

'If its not broke, why change it?'

Anyway, life goes on and I expect we will all get used to it and we need to keep such things in perspective...........................it could have been so much worse, for example  ' the Motorhome and Caravan Club!!' laughing

Ha Ha never say never  "The Motorhome & Caravan Club" I remember people saying it would never be the Caravan and Motorhome Club, watch this space. I genuinely think we'll eventually see the day when Caravan and Cars are band from our Club for good. Cometh The Day Go-eth The Van! πŸ˜‰

Thanks Rochelle but I just want the club to provide decent pitches at a fair price and I'll sort my own entertainment out. Generally indoors or near a shop or two.

Can you please revisit the Hardstanding booking issue in the interests of inclusivity?  I have excluded myself from club sites and would love to include myself again

thanks wink

That is interesting, I have a motorhome, can you please tell me how I can reserve a specific pitch please?
