Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

This is GREAT news and reflects the true composition of the Club's membership.  It has been very many years since it has exclusively been a Caravan club.

It's done now and it's more inclusive, the major hurdle will be getting younger members on board. The COTY programme last year would have confirmed to the younger generation that the CMC is not for them, it probably put potential older members off too, the programme probably got good viewing figures for all the wrong reasons!

Let's hope the new "CMC" now upgrades it's image not just it's brand.

The club may as well be named the caravan, motorhome and tenting club. The use of pup tents has now grown to the use of full tents. This is against the idea of the club being for caravans, though motorhomes are basically caravans with a motor and are acceptable, why a change of name is required seems unnecessary. More and more full size tents are being erected next to caravans even those with an awning. Don't get me going on the growth of the use of gazebo's

i hope as part of this 'new club' those in web design and customer service are going to do something to address the terrible process for rebooking.  Currently if you want to change your booking to another site, you have to cancel your first booking before you can book the new site.  This can and often does mean you end up cancelling your original booking and the site you wanted to change to is no longer available, leaving you without a holiday at all.   It is not difficult to allow you to make the new booking and when you get to checking it out for a message to ask if you want to cancel your original booking.  I have raised this a number of times and been told they are looking into it.  If there is money in the kitty for all this unnecessary rebranding then spend some employing a website designer who can deliver simple but much needed changes to make booking much easier.  And whilst on that point why cant people reserve a hard standing or grass.  Each site knows how many of each pitch it has so shouldn't  be hard.  Nothing worse than turning up in a motorhome to be told sorry the pitches that are left wont take the weight of a motorhome.

If re branding is such a "positive?", why, even after going from clubs to private companies is the RAC & AA still useing the same names,

Because they are a known name with a good reputation,

So who is the Caravan  and Motorhome club? are they a new outfit?

The change of name and logo is a major event for members who have not been consulted ~ its disgusting to say the elected members have had a vote but not the whole membership.

I propose that the change is put to the membership via email and postal where necessary.as soon as possible

Another change not needed, lots of cash spent on a whim of another consultant.

Think its time to move over to the Camping and Caravan Club.

Call me 'scrooge' but any rebranding comes at enormous cost - changing everything from signage, all CC publications through to the site staff sweat-shirts, and of course even the designing of the logo usually costs unless it was an in-house brainwave?  It will be interesting to see this highlighted in the club accounts next year. I would rather the money had been spent on sites and their facilities.

Totally agree with AUDIOROB.

Haven’t the club changed the signage and logos for all the sites recently, and they are doing it again? So how much are the subs going up next year to pay for this?

Seems to be the ‘in thing’ at the moment, organisations spending member’s money to update their profile. Civil Service Motoring Association (CSMA) did it a while back. I’m yet to see any benefit as a member

I’m not against change but this sounds like change for the sake of change. If it isn’t broke………

An 'In-House' brainwave? Sounds like it.

Oh I wish I wish that the time and money spent on this exercise had been put towards fixing its very poor website.

I suspect more members/prospective members will have ben put off by the state of the website than the fact that motorhome isn't in the name.
