Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Hi Smersh,

The Executive Committee, who represent the needs of our members, were all fully involved in the project from the start.

The Committee have fully endorsed the changes we’re making. In fact, they were a vital part of this whole process, helping us better understand what our members want.

Those that want to be on committees tend to be the people that want things their way, (they want the power trip) .... not what others want. Nobody asked me .... and it seems that I'm not alone

Fully agree with JBV - after 42 years membership I still think the people "managing" our club do not consider its members at all and are destined to run it "their way" and spending huge amounts of members money doing it. Giving something back by lowering site fees might help!! Don't like the name don't like the logo either.

What will you do when you renewal comes around? Dilemma.

Embrace change, it's that what all progressive businesses implore? The Club is making all the right noises in an effort to get with the times and attract a new generation of members.

Without sounding too blunt, and I apologise if this sounds personal, but pandering to the very long term established membership isn't going to be good for the long term prospects of the organistation. We're none of us immortal you know wink

The essence of the Club is to help you get more from the great outdoors. To achieve this we provide various products and services, many of which generate revenue. We invest this back into the Club so you get the best experience possible. The Club is indeed run in a business-like way to make sure we use your money most efficiently.

Yet, with no shareholder dividends to pay and no debts to service
our only purpose is to get the best value for your money and help you get the most from the great outdoors.

Surely the essence of the club is (or was) to provide a network of sites to allow touring?

The great outdoors (hate that phrase) is of no interest to me but the sites and CLs most definitely are

I don't recall any discussion on changing the clubs name ! and I don't really see the point, whats the difference between a motor Caravan and a towed Caravan, we are all caravaners and its the membership and the people who enjoy our pastime that are important not some silly name change. I would like to know who decided on this change and how this was approved without a membership survey, and also what  will the cost of this unnecessary rebranding exercise be????.

....or finally realising that the club doesn't listen and isnt really a club.

It the club was interested in member few it could easily have sort the views of the members through an online survey/vote etc.

If 40% of new members are motorhome owners it is obvious they feel at home with the club, investing £49 a year in it. Just feel money could be invested in more important things. How much will be spent on this exercise?

I don't mind the name of the club being changed, but just remember it was originally for caravans. This must not change , we stayed at the bogner site last year ,and while booking in  there was a lady !! ranting and raving at the warden complaining there was no hard standing for her, I hope this dos not become common place ( I have nothing against motorhome owners)

On the website, where the FAQs are it says how important members feedback is to you. Obviously not important enough to ask all members about it - with modern technology and social media it is very easy to do just that. I don't feel that "our representatives on the committee" really represent the vast majority of members. I don't see the point in the name change, all motorcaravaners knew they were welcome. Are you pre-empting a strike from the Camping and Caravan Club which is shortly to announce that they will be becoming the Camping, Caravan and Motorhome club?
