Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

How much has this ( or will ) cost . ? šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

You say it was changed after consultation with members. No one consulted with me or my friends .?

And please note, Clwyd County disappeared years ago, we are now Denbighshire!

This year we have only booked a few nights up front mainly because of lack of information on sites and prices due to no book for reference. For us the book is essential but not yet here. At least they don't seem to have pinched the 'friendly club' wording - yet and that has to be a bonus!!

This is GREAT news and reflects the true composition of the Club's membership.  It has been very many years since it has exclusively been a Caravan club.

Ian said 'Maybe people should stop having a go at Rochelle?'

Nobody is having a go at Rochelle Ian. She wrote 'It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.'

As Rochelle is speaking for the club using 'Us' and 'We' that is who the comments are directed at. Not Rochelle personally.

I think the club should be looking at how run down some sites are if they  need a new image. We toured England in 2015 and booked quite a few club sites, we were very disappointed with most of the sites with the attitude of some wardens leaving a lot to be desired. Some sites were in bad need a lick of paint or grass not cut or hard standing pitches with 1 ft weeds not the club we joined many years ago. Some of the toilet/showers although mostly clean were very out of date and in bad need of an update. So in 2016 when we toured Scotland we did not book any club sites and the independent sites allowed us to pre choose a pitch most were multi service and all had very up to date shower/toilet blocks. These are things the club is now lacking, so if you want a new image get the sites and facilities into the 21st century after all the sites are at the end of the day what is most important.

IT really is depressing reading some of the comments.

IT is NOT just about a new name and logo but a new mindset and vision for the organisation.

For goodness sake the Club is not a tiny local social club that can consult everyone about everything but a multi-million pound leisure business that had its roots as a small club but now operates as a massive organisation albeit with a governance structure and ethos of a club. In reality it cannot consult 800,000 plus members. Can you imagine the cost and time needed to set about consulting every member, every local association etc.

The Club involved members as already pointed out. The Board and Committees are formed and fully comprise Members of the Club.  Let them get on with running it on our behalf.  If we don't like what we get we can always seek to stand for election.

Don't mind the new name but wonder was it really necessary. The members were not consulted in any meaningful way. I've been associated with the club as a child and member for over 60 years and don't see anything wrong with the original logo etc. I can only assume the change is to pander to those who like to refer to motor caravans as motorhomes. For some reason they don't like the word caravan which is after all what it is all about
