Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Ian said 'Maybe people should stop having a go at Rochelle?'

Nobody is having a go at Rochelle Ian. She wrote 'It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.'

As Rochelle is speaking for the club using 'Us' and 'We' that is who the comments are directed at. Not Rochelle personally.

Just another thought on "re branding" I wonder why the two big motoring clubs ie RAC & AA have kept their names even in private ownership,Is it because they are  known good brand names?

Caravan and Motorcaravan Club is it a new outfit?

Love the new name....about time toowink

Did expect a new forum instead of this old unreadable and incredibly amateur effortsurprised

Perhaps 'The Snagging List' thread has finally been deleted, instead of simply being ignored, as not appropriate for such a forward looking organisation?

This is a new forum albeit an incredibly amateur effort mounting on a server that seems barely able to cope.

Looks good to me. We've had both a caravan and a motorhome so the new name reflects our experience of the club. Better differentiation from the "other" club too ;)

I'm pleased to see the Caravan and Motorhome Club (which surely should be shortened to CMC) are moving with the times and re-branding. I have for a long time thought that there was way too much emphasis on just caravans in the monthly magazine, rather than the balanced reporting/reviews which should now circulate from your magazine.

I can't say I'm overwhelmed by the new logo though as the colours are dull and there is no presence of the colour green to show our interaction and enjoyment with nature!

That's my four penn'th. Good Luck to the new CMC.

Most modern rebrands shorten names to become more catchy to make them more memorable and to appeal to new younger members. If the name is too big to fit on one line on their smart phones, they aint bovvered (sic).

Personally, I don't like it. The Caravan Club as a brand is much more recognised and this will take years to recover. The new name sounds like we're trying to copy the equally over-lengthily titled Caravan and Camping Club (spelt wrong on purpose to prove a point).

Oh, and what about trailer tenters and folding campers?

Not impressed by this at all.

1) The members were not consulted - it would have been very easy to have an online vote on this, and I would argue that it is a fairly fundamental change, especially considering the costs involved

2) The new logo proudly proclaims the 110 years existence of the club, and now your taking that heritage and flushing it away

3) Last time a motor-caravan was just as much as a caravan as a trailer-caravan. Using the logic that motorhomers felt excluded, is it now ok that campervanners, trailer tenters, folding camperers and any other derivative of mobile accommodation are excluded from the name of the club?!

4) Even with the decision of changing the name, why the need to move away from the colours and flag emblem that have long been symbolic of club? Couldn't you have just refreshed them? They have been iconic and instantly recognisable for decades - I'd be surprised to see the new branding last a fraction of that time.
