At the risk of repeating myself...

The membership are not the owners of the Club, the Club has no ownership, it is a managed not for profit organisation and no one person is entitled to any share of the profit or dividends.

We are paid up members of a membership organisation and we sign up to the by-laws of this organisation when we join. Within the by-laws it will state that operational decisions are the sole responsibility of the elected governing committee.

Eh? AA, RAC, BT and ASDA are abbreviations

Oxfam is the accepted shortened name representing the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

The Club doesn't need a catchy short business name, it merely explains what it represents

All those above that deal with the public trade with their initials which in turn are backed by heavy advertising promotion.
