3 showers for 108 pitches?

I'm all okay with following recommendations but closing six showers out of nine and all of the urinals in the Gents is massive overkill. We've spent nearly three weeks on an exceptional site in Cornwall in August that coped a thousand times better than this! If the Club wants us to use 5 van sites for half the price, just say so? £30 a night for effectively 5 van site facilities is massively over the top. That said, the site was well kept as always, grass was immaculate, location is good, spoiled by over the top reaction...........

Super site

Stayed here for a week in August and had a great time. Booked quite last minute so was really happy to find availability. We were on the site with our 2 grandchildren and 3 dogs. The kids had a great time, the children play area catered for very small to older children and they also have a playing field. The dog walking field was perfect for exercising our 3 dogs. The only downside for this site when you have dogs is that you can't walk from the site with the dogs as the exit is past stud horses in a field and you are not allowed to go past them with dogs but to be honest this didn't cause us much of an issue. The toilet and shower blocked were kept very clean and 6 people were allowed in at a time but i never went once when you couldn't get in straight away. The site was lovely and quiet is very well looked after and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and i would and have already recommended this site to other caravaners and would have no hesitation in booking this site again in the future. The site is within a couple of miles to good shopping i.e. Asda, Aldi, Marks and Spencer and even a John lewis. A few miles further on and you have York and the York Outlets.

Enjoyable stay

I stayed here at the beginning of August with the rest of the family the site is so spotless and all the public areas are sanatised at regular intervals the wardens work hard to ensure everyone feels as safe as possible it’s not what you can’t do due to covid but what you can the site is also a good place for touring around the area the tent area is also kept very tidy and grass kept well will definitely be back again

Beechwood Bliss

Yes, it was bliss to get out after COVID-19 lockdown in our new campervan. It was our first visit to Beechwood Grange. The site was very clean. Well organised. The team were welcoming and helpful and they were clearly working hard to make everyone's stay as good as poss. I read that some people thought there was noise from the nearby roads...all I can say is they must sleep lightly. The top of my 'van is canvas, so as thin as a tent and my house in the country with only the odd sheep bleat and a bird tweet. The road noise didn't disturb me! Well done Beechwood team, we'll come back soon.

Welcome relief

This was our second visit to the site and our first post lockdown foray...and boy was it welcome! The site was spotless and very well cared for with the wardens were well versed in the new hygiene and distancing rules but in a way that wasn't at all oppressive and were friendly and helpful throughout. In terms of COVID, generally speaking people were abiding by social distancing, though you had to dodge the occasional Kamikaze pensioner around the water point(!) Sadly you weren't able to stroke the super-cute foal in the stud farm on the way into the site though it was great to hear the horses thundering across the neighbouring field on an evening. We drove out to Castle Howard and the lovely Kirkham Abbey both of which were well worthwhile as indeed was a morning at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington with it's replica Halifax and selection of cold war V Force jets.

Nice spot

I had booked the site at Rowntree, but lockdown put paid to that. After restrictions were eased i couldn't get on to Rowntree so we plumped for Beechwood grange. Well what a hidden gem, some reviews said it was noisy, you can hear road traffic but that's easy to tune out as it's not that bad, it's a very clean site with excellent facilities, the wardens were very nice people and stop for a chat. We enjoyed ourselves and our dog enjoyed the enclosed dog area.

An unexpected gem of a site

Was searching for a last minute booking in Yorkshire and this was the only one in July with any availability. I had my fussy husband 7 year old son and two dogs. I knew the site would be clean and of the usual club site standard but I was concerned about not being able to walk the dogs off site due to the access road being shared with the stud farm. I needn't have worried. The site is small in terms of the number of pitches but situated on a lot of land. The pitches are level and evenly spaced and there is plenty of room. To the back of the site there is a huge enclosed meadow which has paths mown into it so you can walk your dog off lead safely (this is encouraged) and if used by more than one person there is no reason why you can't walk an alternative path to keep your distance. Next to this is a huge enclosed, closely clipped lawn area for the kids to play in. They can use their balls, kites, whatever, its a huge space. Finally there is a kids playground which is suitable for older kids too and looked great. We couldn't use it as it was closed for COVID but my son said it looked really good. The family bathroom is spotless as is the ladies. Only one block but ample shower space under normal circumstances. Even with the social distancing in place I never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. The wardens constantly clean door handles, gate snibs and are really friendly. Monks Cross shopping park and park and ride is huge and within 2 miles, loads of shops and two supermarkets and a bit further down another similar retail park. Easy located for the cost from Scarborough to Hornsea and just off the York bypass with easy access in and out. Not too far from the A1 to hop off when travelling North or South. Some have complained about the road noise and there is a little bit as the site is near the A64 but its mainly the usual culprits who feel the need to rev their engines and scream along the road for no apparent reason. If I had read the reviews about this I probably wouldn't have noticed any at all and certainly wouldn't have been commenting on it. Love the site, the wardens were great, will certainly choose this site in future, can't praise it enough.

Great Welcome

Arrived to be greeted with a warm welcome lovely site spotless really large pitches social distancing excellent wardens very helpful the only downside was the bus stop was too far for me and the wife walk but to compensate we took the motorhome out and had a good look round York was very nice so much to see spent the whole day there really enjoyed it . It was lovely and quiet and overslept most days some reviews say about the traffic noise but we did not here no noise at all would definitely return.

Favourite site

One of our favourites sites, having lived in North Yorkshire for most of our lives. We have just returned from there and would have stayed a few more days, had my wife not had to be home for a appointment. The site staff have done a great job, the site looks lovely and a credit to the wardens. Procedures to ensure social distancing working well. We will return, hopefully many times in the future
