Stayed 2 nights with motorhome. Great site , grea facilities , small amount of road noise from A64.
Used park and ride at Grimston Bar. £6.60 for 2 adults. Large car park area solely for Motorhomes. Would definitely use this site again.
A favourite of ours
Once again a very nice friendly welcome on arrival, this I think makes all the difference to the start of your holiday be it long or short. This site is very well placed to all kind of attractions whatever your preference. Covid has made most of us cautious and certainly don't feel at risk on this site, it is quiet and clean and well maintained and one of our regular places to visit.

Another visit to a fantastic site
Once again we have stayed at this fantastic site, one of the best we have used after 12 months of using the club sites due to staying in our motorhome this year whilst looking for a new home. The site is well cared for the facilities are immaculate and the wardens are the most professional yet approachable and friendly wardens we have encountered. Well done !
Superb site for both town and country excursions
We have stayed at Beechwood Grange many times over the years with motorhomes and now a caravan. Such a wonderful, well cared for site this is. The facilities have had a full make-over since our last visit and are top class, rivalling anywhere on the club circuit, or abroad for that matter. Efficient and helpful staff as always, keeping the site and facilities in immaculate order. For tenters there is unusually a dedicated field on which to pitch. A large field is provided for dog walking.
We explored the Wolds to the north east of York, having ‘done’ the city on past visits. This is a beautiful area with much to see both historically and scenically. A trip to Scarborough is very easy if the coast takes your fancy.
All in all a very pleasant experience.
Stunning Location
Booked to stay for 7 days as wanted to visit York and do all the sights. This site is spotless, the shower blocks are spacious, although there is only one of them but i was never kept waiting for a free cubicle. The tv reception was good and so was the wifi, we used our phones to tether it. Used monks cross to picadilly park and ride to get to the center of york on a couple of occasions but also drove and was able to park, we used castle car park, the car parks are very expensive. The site was easy to find and very peaceful. Beautifully maintained and the staff were very friendly. Just down the road in walking distance is a toby carvery which we had to book online for the carvery. I would defo come back to this site, in fact i would say its now my favourite site.
Good Site
I love this site. I enjoy walking and find the walk into York, either via Bad Bargain Lane or Osbaldwick are both enjoyable. There is even a bus back to Hopgrove (10 minutes walk from the site). The A64 is near but does not cause a problem. Nice Chippy 1 mile away (Thompsons - on side of A64 towards Scarborough). Loads of Shops and Park and Ride at Monks Cross (1 mile way). The site is well maintained and well run. Some use it as a transit camp to break their journey. This is a shame as they miss out on what it has to offer.. I find it perfect for a full week of exploring. Walk or bus into York and take in the sites. I would not take my car into York other than for the supermarket or 'Go Outdoors' which are free and easy to reach. The 843 bus or the Park and ride bus are much more convenient and less stressful. Better still walk it.
fantastic site
forgetting how many times i have been this year and time after time fantastic all the staff are very helpful great size pitches see you all very soon ally
Good but a bit sterile
The site was well cared for but it is very open with little in the way of hedges to provide any degree of privacy. It reminded of a parking lot for caravans with the perimeter road being used as a race track by children on their bikes.
We were very disturbed by after lunch extremely noisy grass mowing which lasted for over an hour and was despite the fact that the grass did in our opinion not need cutting at all. Does the caravan club really need to use mowers that sound like a 747 revving up for take off. We pay for peace and quiet not this. The guy operating the mower was very pleasant about this when I briefly spoke to him though but he insisted in pressing on with his duties regardless of the annoyance caused.

Stayed at this site for many weeks this year
We are waiting for our new home, so are spending most of the last 12 months on the club's sites. Our recent stay at the Beechwood York site had been a real pleasure, the wardens Pete & Janet have gone the extra mile to ensure our stay has been one of the best we have had. Nothing has been too much trouble to them the toilets and facilities are immaculate at all times, the site is clean tidy and a pleasure to stay. Family & friends who have visited us have past comment on what a lovely place to stay.
So thank you for your consideration & hard work in running a first class caravan & motorhome establishment.
Nice site.
I love this site. I have just spent 8 nights there. Everything clean and well maintained. Sadly the antics of other campers can spoil the best. I spent the last 5 nights with a wiwam pitched less than 3 metres from my awning. No privacy and a total diseregard for the fire break rules. Neighbour had sought advice and had been told by staff (allegedly) that providing everything was within his pitch (on his gravel) there was no problem. I will return to this site but hope not to have the same problems in the future. And before anybody asks, Yes I did speak to the office and was initially assured of some remnedial action which in effect never happened. It doesnot take much to spoil your overall enjoyment of even the best of sites.
