Welcome relief
This was our second visit to the site and our first post lockdown foray...and boy was it welcome!
The site was spotless and very well cared for with the wardens were well versed in the new hygiene and distancing rules but in a way that wasn't at all oppressive and were friendly and helpful throughout.
In terms of COVID, generally speaking people were abiding by social distancing, though you had to dodge the occasional Kamikaze pensioner around the water point(!) Sadly you weren't able to stroke the super-cute foal in the stud farm on the way into the site though it was great to hear the horses thundering across the neighbouring field on an evening.
We drove out to Castle Howard and the lovely Kirkham Abbey both of which were well worthwhile as indeed was a morning at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington with it's replica Halifax and selection of cold war V Force jets.
