Always a good choice

Our second visit this year and can only echo thoughts of others. A large flat site laid out less regimented than many in rural setting. The staff were pleasant and worked hard to keep the site tidy and their display of flowers would be hard to beat. For us unless you simply want to walk into York city centre this is the site to choose for the area. Shops would be quite a walk but there are Supermarkets and a large choice of other shops plus cheap fuel and the park and ride within two miles. The park and ride has spaces for motorhomes which helps those who need this. The site is generally easy to reach, but on a sunny Saturday morning the A64 can jam so that time might be best avoided.

Worth a second visit excellent site.

First time at this site but not our last. The site is excellent easy to find and close to York city, and park and ride, shops etc. The facilities were first class and kept very clean. The site too was maintained to a very high standard. Large and spacious pitches. Small shop on site selling just a few essentials but no local shop within walking distance meant a trip to the shops in the car, which were not too far. The roads around the site were quite busy but did not affect our holiday too much, a little traffic noice late at night but again not enough to be too disruptive. Close to many local attractions and small villages etc. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and deserved a lot of credit and thanks for their hard work and excellent customer service. We had an issue with our car and although it was August bank holiday, with the site full, they were able to accommodate an extended stay on site if required, fortunately this was not necessary but their offer was extremely welcomed. We plan on a further visit to this site in the near future.

High quality site

Stayed many times but this was first time since new facilities were built. Although bank holiday weekend there was never a queue for the showers etc. Usual friendly greeting from wardens on arrival and they kept the site very clean and tidy. One of my favourite sites.

Excellent site

Really easy to get to and fantastic location for visiting York which has numerous park and ride car parks but despite being down the road from one you can’t safely walk to it but there is space to park cvs and motor homes. Fantastic new toilet block, really, really friendly staff. Lovely site good pitches great for children to play, football pitch was used every day by our boys rain or shine! If we lived nearer we’d be back regularly......

Yet another enjoyable stay

We have just returned home from an extended 15 night stay at this wonderful site. We are regular visitors to Beechwood Grange as we have relatives who live close and we always spend time with them whilst there. As usual, the site is in great condition and the flower displays are beautiful. The wardens are a credit to the club - friendly, professional, hard-working and exhibit the best customer service. Although the site was busy, we still found it very relaxing and the dog walk is excellent which is always a prime consideration for us as we have one very elderly dog and one very young one. We can't wait to return and hope to soon, perhaps in September or October. Linda & Peter Shields

Great for visiting York

Stayed here for 1 night while me and my husband had a trip into York. What a nice couple the wardens were, went out there way to help us and were dead canny. Pitches are massive so plenty of room, toilet and shower block immaculate. Had a lovely drinking session in York , so pretty , hundreds of bars and restaurants to choose from and even went up Cliffords Tower which was very interesting. Got a taxi back to the site which cost £9 with Streamline taxi's. I would defiantly stay here again if we came back to York. Thanks for a lovely peaceful stay.

Internet is rubbish.

We enjoyed our stay at Beechwood Grange, the facilities were very good and clean, couldn't fault it. However the site internet was absolute rubbish, for a whole day and half the internet was down due to a fault, at best it was very slow when we did have connection. The tv signal was also poor and allowed us only a few channels which at times gave a broken signal affecting the picture. If you don't mind having no tv or internet then this is a very nice site to stay on and very close to the motorway.

great site

One of our favourite sites, we visit regularly as we come from North Yorkshire anyway, it gives us the opportunity to meet up with family and friends. Great site with brilliant staff. Will always use this site.

Loved this site , will be going back again in the future

Stayed here for one night on our way back down south on 29th July. What a lovely site. Easy to access just off the York "ring road" , down a dead end road with a horse stud next to it, very pretty setting , site looks lovely , really big pitches and feels spread out , and you can see that this has been refurbed , it basically looks like a brand new site. Warm welcome from Wardens , good atmosphere on the site , fellow campers friendly. The facilities were excellent as I said before everything was like brand new , with every thing you could need. Lots of grass and trees , I cant emphasise what a lovely setting , being that it is so close to York. We ventured into the city in our Smart car , short drive from the site and spent a lovely evening in historic York , Nice quite night at the site , yes there is a bit of road noise from the nearby ring road , but then being close top city you need to compromise , it didn't bother us. We will certainly be returning here , great site
