We arrived on Feb 21st for 3 nights.
The site is clearly popular -perhaps because it was half term - and was very full.
The toilet block was clean and more than adequate - never saw any one queuing.
Plenty of children on the playground and cycling but they were never an issue.
We used the camp wifi - we think this was expensive but it was better quality than we expected.
Arrived on the 13th Feb, chose what looked like a good pitch, hoping for a quiet visit.
Site was not very busy when we arrived, then came the weekend, lots of disrespectful children not being supervised by their parents, "out of sight out of mind" springs to mind. Let's hope their parents enjoyed their break.
We were awakened on the Saturday morning by the children from the late arrival (Friday) next to us on pitch 13, the young son proceeded to switch off the electricity to our unit. When challenged, we were met with ignorance and a blatant disregard by the Male and Female on the pitch. They arrived late on the Friday evening, then proceeded to manoeuvre their caravan onto the pitch by driving several times backwards and forwards over the soft grass opposite. No respect at all.
Many children playing around the toilet blocks and the service points on cycles, skateboards and scooters, despite the signage being in place to prevent this, again lack of parental supervision/uncaring attitude.
Road system difficult, narrow and pitch access very awkward in certain areas.
Internet and phones had no, or very little signal.
Observed new arrivals arguing about pitch allocation.
Wardens visibility was almost non existent.
Advice is - Enforce the rules you have in place, not all visitors have a good time, we have a weekend booked in May, but will be cancelling.
I arrived to a very friendly welcome by the wardens and was quickly checked in and on my way to find a pitch. The site is quite large but well laid out with, I think, everyone on hardstandings, which is a bonus at this time of year. The facilities, in fact the whole site, are kept immaculate and are a credit to the hard working wardens. The site is handy for all the attractions of the city and well placed if you fancy a run over to the coast. All in all a very pleasant weeks stay, with special thanks to all the hard working and very friendly wardens.
Visited this site a couple of years ago and decided to book an overnight stay to see what it was like since the refurbishment.
Got to say we were all very impressed with the new layout and extended toilet block.
A very warm welcome on arrival by the wardens.
The only downside to our stay was the weather - very windy.
Highly recommend this this site and its on the list for a return visit.
I have reviewed this site many times, and my opinion of the site is fantastic. I guess that's been down to Pat & Trevor the best wardens I have ever know in the many years we have been caravanning.
Yes we will return to Beechwood, but will always remember them.
I hope the new wardens follow in the same format as being cheerful, hardworking and sociable.
Well done Pat & Trevor.... Now its your time to enjoy your holidays.
We spent a nice break over New Year at Beechwood Grange and, as always, thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The site has been improved immensely and the toilet & shower block is absolutely excellent.
We must make mention of the wardens Pat & Trevor who we understand are retiring shortly. We have stayed there regularly over recent years and they have always been friendly, helpful and a real credit to the club. We will be sorry to see them go, however the new wardens and assistant wardens are also really nice people so we're confident we will continue to enjoy this great site.
Many thanks for everything.
Linda & Peter Shields
Just had a lovely Christmas and New Year break, having done so for the last 5 years at this site, and boy how good are the new facilities-- superb. Lets hope the club roll out toilet blocks like this one on other sites. Great wardens ( wish them well in retirement) and assistant wardens, kept the site spotless. Must say that cutting down some of the trees certainly opens up the site, but, this does lead to a bit more road noise. Great site, plenty to do, what more do you want. Already booked for next year.
Just back from a 3 night stay at this great little site, special mention for the assistant wardens who put some New Years drinks on and was most welcoming, they are credit to the club. Pitches all seem to be a good size, shower block is fantastic. All in all was a great stay and we will be back again soon. 👍
