An amazing weekend

What lovely wardens at this site so nice to see you again we enjoyed our weekend so much and realised how much we have missed coming to the site whilst it was closed. Cant wait to return in two weeks time. Thank you again for your kindness shown.

Ideal for visiting York or area

Stayed week before Xmas. Was very frosty glad we had Aquaroll Jacket. Excellent play area for grandchildren and drag walk excellent. At other times would be inconvenient not being able to walk from site with our dog. Close to Park n Ride for York/shops. Just off ring road do can easily get anywhere locally. Wondering what the club can possibly do to improve it. It's perfect!

Beware Price Increases when Site reopens

I think members will be in for a shock when the site reopens. There are price increases of up to 25% per day for a couple. Check it out.

A successful quick break in York

We've visited this site before several times and have always enjoyed it. The wardens are SO friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are always happy to stop for a chat and a joke but they get the balance exactly right; when you're in a hurry to get on they seem to know and don't bother you. This site feels to be in really safe hands with them. It's well managed, facilities are kept in working order and immaculately clean, and it appears to run like clockwork. I've read some of the previous recent reviews on the removal of trees and this is truly a case of one man's meat being another man's poison. I was SO sorry to see how many trees have been taken down from this site. I appreciate it's November and the leaves are off mostly down now so the place will look bare anyway, but it has been made so much worse by the removal of these trees. I dread to think what it will be like in full bloom - so sparse and bare. The site enjoys access through well established deciduous woodlands and itself had a wonderful coverage of greenery which not only helped attract wildlife, but also provided some screening from the road noise. The A64 is close by and the site needs all the baffling it can get. I don't understand why what appears to be such savage cuts have been made to a site which is after all called "Beechwood Grange" Please don't take any more down. The site will lose the very feature that attracted us to it in the first place!

Much Improved

On my last visit some of the trees were being trimmed, but they have since removed over 30 trees and this has made the site much more open for everyone. The wardens were as usual very helpful and informative. The facilities were spotless. I look forward to my next visit when it re-opens after the refurbishments. i am sure that we will again see more improvement to this very popular site.

Location, location, location.......

Absolutely perfect location for two massive retail parks nearby. (we went for Christmas shopping in November). The Park & Ride into York City Center was brilliant. Only cost us £2.90 each return and the car park was free ! The caravan site is well maintained by the staff and the site fees are quite cheap in comparison to similar sites. If it's your first visit, keep your eyes peeled for the club signpost on the approach roundabout. It is obviously positioned for traffic traveling in both directions on the ring road so it is easily missed, due to it's bland colour and offset angle. The Toby Carvery Pub just down the road is great for a cheap carvery meal or even a cheap breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be coming be coming back to this site, probably for Christmas shopping next year !

Little gem in York

We stayed for the weekend 09/11/17 Perfect location to visit York and Yorkshire dales . On arrival the warden was the most helpful we have come across. We went with friends and he made sure we were on adjoining pitches as my friend was disabled. The site was very busy but the facility's were spotless the lane to the site had a few pot holes but nothing to cause a problem. We will be back for sure . Pauline/Kev motorhomers

Great Site but watch the access.

I don't need to say anything about the site as others have said plenty of good things, all agreed with. But if you come to the site via the A64 York ring road from the South East on to the A1237. Be aware that the access to the site is via a "Local Services" road which only has a very short space to stop at the traffic lights on the traffic island. This means your van will block the exit from the island to the A1237 north bound especially if you have a long outfit. You will get tooted at but there is nothing you can do. The google maps picture (this is the link https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.989896,-1.0275011,74m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en ) shows it clearly!!!!

Fab Location

My second season in caravaning and I wanted a 4 night break away. Beechwood was ideally situated nr. the Park and Ride into York. Ideal for Monks Cross Retail Park, Asda and Carvery Pubs. Also good for exploring the East Coast. Whitby only an hours drive on great scenic roads. The Site was lovely and well kept, though this time of year (Late October) we didn't have the evening light to enjoy the site and chilling outside the van. Although many may say the block look dated with it's 1970's swimming pool tiles lol, as far as i'm concerned, the blocks were warm and the showers pushed out hot water and were clean, so that ticks the box for me. I just can't wait to go back there again...only a 2:15hr drive from the West Coast for me. Not too far and not too close. I certainly will book again and look forward to a summer visit in 2018 for sure!.
