brilliant

We love this site the owners are fantastic. Pat and Trevor are so helpful polite and will do anything for you. The toilet and shower block are always spotlessly clean. The pitches are spacious hard standing and very clean. Trevor and pat do a trick or treat night for the kids which every year is brilliant however we missed it this year due to school holidays being the following week. We will be visiting again and again as we thoroughly enjoy the site x

Great site

We stayed at this site from the 21/10/2017 to the 28/10/2017 what a great site the driveway down to the site was won of the best approuches to site that we have been on. On arrivel we ware made to fill very welcome and the warden that greeded was appsolutaly brilliant. My only neccative side on this site is the toilet block it is very dated and the showher cubicles are a bit small with no bench to sit on but did have a plastic stool which did not do the job as being low was useualy wet and was to low to sit on. Also for the number of people on this site their is no ware enough showers and ofden resulted in having to que for a shower. Yes this toilet block does need upgrading and the site would also benifit from a second block. As the site is reasonably close to York may be of benifit if it was open all year as the only site that is open all year is the rowntree site in York and is near on impossible to get a booking on. Would I stay on this site again yes I deffiinatly would. Would recommend this site yes I would.

Wasted trip.

We were staying at the firs club site ( belpher) which is fabulous. We decided to finish our week off in York at beechwood. Having stayed before we thought it be good for our 9 yr old grandson it being half term. He was looking forward to trick or treating on the site only to be told they had had it on Thursday ( we arrived Friday) , thinking it would Saturday.. Anyway the approach to site between the horse fields was pot hole hell appalling, on our arrival I was greeted by a young boy who seemed to know more about our pitch than the wardens, The toilets need up dating broken shower tiles, messy basins and just not nice. On a plus point the male warden did help us with our electrics. Won't be returning for a while.

Lovely site

We were welcomed by very friendly and helpful wardens who do a great job maintaining the site and facilities. However the toilet block is in need of a good update although was always clean and tidy. Short car journey to Monks Cross park and ride and shopping complex. Always enjoy our visit to this site and will definitely return.

Second trip this year to Beechwood Grange

After our visit in the Spring, decided an end of Summer visit would be a good idea. It was! Site and Wardens usual excellent standard. Such a variety of things to do from Beechwood Grange. In our four night stay we managed a visit to the Designer Outlet Village, a day out in Filey to walk on the beach and Brig, a lovely day in York where we enjoyed a delicious lunch of genuine Brittany crepes in the Shambles Market, a trip to the Yorkshire Arboretum where the autumn colours were looking great, and a visit to Nunnington Hall. Think we may need to return!

Pleasant visit but awful WiFi signal strength.

This is a really tidy and well maintained site and very handy for a couple of out of town Retail Outlets as well as the park and ride. The wardens were extremely pleasant and friendly. The shower block does need updating and the layout changed (less washrooms and more showers please) but it was kept clean. Not for the first time this year at a Caravan Club site, the bronze status WiFi was a total waste of our annual WiFi payment. We couldn't even get passed the log on status on most occasions. Come on Club, this is on the outskirts of York not in the remote Highlands of Scotland.

Second Visit

Just spent the weekend at this site and it's our second visit. It's within an hour of home so not too far away for a weekend trip. Good location for York and the coast. Two shopping centres close by as well. Weather was horrendous with storm 'Brian' making a visit. Nonetheless the site was up to the usual standards. Wi-Fi slightly better than some other sites but not brilliant. Site was very busy due to it being half term in the area so we were lucky to get a cancellation as the site was full a couple of days earlier. We had the grandkids with us so we had to find things to do in the area but inside due to the weather. The chocolate factory in the centre of York is highly recommended which we went to on the Saturday. Went to Eden Camp which we've visited many times and met up with other family members on the Sunday. In hindsight it was a good site to choose for the variety of attractions inside or out regardless of the weather. No issues either accessing the site wondering whether you are going to meet a caravan coming towards you. Nice wide access road as you leave the roundabout onto the site. We will no doubt return for a third visit.

park review

Great wardens and very helpful If honest I have now started to use private sites do to the fact there facilities are far better and more modern and you pay not much more if anything. The club needs to start getting there toilet/shower blocks up to date, on this site they were clean but so scruffy tiles missing from floor , walls of cubicles coming away do to the damp, ceiling tiles falling out, sinks with disgusting rusty drains. The wardens do a good job keeping them clean but working with outdated facilities' must be hard.

nother September visit

Don't use this site if you need wifi to keep in touch with business etc. It is, and has been for several years, rubbish! Had to use M&S Cafe at Monks Cross or York Library. We frequently use this site as very convenient for Monks Cross P&R for York and as a base for visiting everywhere in N Yorkshire. Very well kept site, very helpful friendly staff who are frequently seen keeping the site in super condition. For members who found dificulty finding the site, prior to our first time visit we used Google Street view which guided us right in. Highly recommended site, other than the rubbish wifi.
