After our visit in the Spring, decided an end of Summer visit would be a good idea. It was! Site and Wardens usual excellent standard. Such a variety of things to do from Beechwood Grange. In our four night stay we managed a visit to the Designer Outlet Village, a day out in Filey to walk on the beach and Brig, a lovely day in York where we enjoyed a delicious lunch of genuine Brittany crepes in the Shambles Market, a trip to the Yorkshire Arboretum where the autumn colours were looking great, and a visit to Nunnington Hall. Think we may need to return!
Pleasant visit but awful WiFi signal strength.
This is a really tidy and well maintained site and very handy for a couple of out of town Retail Outlets as well as the park and ride. The wardens were extremely pleasant and friendly. The shower block does need updating and the layout changed (less washrooms and more showers please) but it was kept clean. Not for the first time this year at a Caravan Club site, the bronze status WiFi was a total waste of our annual WiFi payment. We couldn't even get passed the log on status on most occasions. Come on Club, this is on the outskirts of York not in the remote Highlands of Scotland.
Second Visit
Just spent the weekend at this site and it's our second visit. It's within an hour of home so not too far away for a weekend trip. Good location for York and the coast. Two shopping centres close by as well. Weather was horrendous with storm 'Brian' making a visit. Nonetheless the site was up to the usual standards. Wi-Fi slightly better than some other sites but not brilliant. Site was very busy due to it being half term in the area so we were lucky to get a cancellation as the site was full a couple of days earlier.
We had the grandkids with us so we had to find things to do in the area but inside due to the weather. The chocolate factory in the centre of York is highly recommended which we went to on the Saturday. Went to Eden Camp which we've visited many times and met up with other family members on the Sunday. In hindsight it was a good site to choose for the variety of attractions inside or out regardless of the weather.
No issues either accessing the site wondering whether you are going to meet a caravan coming towards you. Nice wide access road as you leave the roundabout onto the site. We will no doubt return for a third visit.
park review
Great wardens and very helpful
If honest I have now started to use private sites do to the fact there facilities are far better and more modern and you pay not much more if anything.
The club needs to start getting there toilet/shower blocks up to date, on this site they were clean but so scruffy tiles missing from floor , walls of cubicles coming away do to the damp, ceiling tiles falling out, sinks with disgusting rusty drains.
The wardens do a good job keeping them clean but working with outdated facilities' must be hard.
great site
had a great long weekend quiet peaceful well laid out site toilet block could do with a re vamp . park and ride at monks cross 5 min away great for going to York .great helpful wardens too
nother September visit
Don't use this site if you need wifi to keep in touch with business etc. It is, and has been for several years, rubbish! Had to use M&S Cafe at Monks Cross or York Library. We frequently use this site as very convenient for Monks Cross P&R for York and as a base for visiting everywhere in N Yorkshire. Very well kept site, very helpful friendly staff who are frequently seen keeping the site in super condition. For members who found dificulty finding the site, prior to our first time visit we used Google Street view which guided us right in. Highly recommended site, other than the rubbish wifi.
Another fabulous visit
Stayed for 2 weeks in September. This was our third visit to this fabulous caravan site. The wardens Trevor and Pat, Guy and Pauline are absolutely brilliant. They will do anything to help and keep the site lovely. They have cut down a few trees which we feel has opened up the site and allowed the sunshine to come through. Hope to visit again next year. Back again
Well we are back again. This is our favourite site. We love York and use the park and ride just up the road to take the pressure off driving and parking in York. York is so beautiful and with so much to do, we haven't seen it all yet.
The site isn't the easiest to find first time, but once found you will want to go again.
The site is very quiet with friendly staff. We have always been made welcome and other users have also been friendly and always comment when we meet. The site is clean and tidy, staff always seem to be doing something. We don't always see this on other sites. On one occasion we even saw a member of staff park a caravan for a gentleman who was having great trouble ( I think he had problems with his right and left)
I am sure we will be back again next year.
Yet another enjoyable visit
We have stayed at this site on many occasions and spent a week there recently. As always, our stay way enjoyable and relaxing despite some inclement weather. The site is well maintained although the toilet block is now looking a little tired.
I must pay special tribute to the wardens who we have come to know a little and are genuinely friendly & professional. Nothing is too much trouble and they exhibit the kind of customer service which is a real credit to the club.
My overriding feeling as I drive onto to the site is one of relaxation and our recent visit was no different, despite our rather over-exuberant new little puppy. Beechwood Grange is one of my all time favourite sites and one I love coming back to.
I understand that the site will be closed next year for refurbishment and we really cannot wait to go back once that is done.
Thanks again for a wonderful break.

Peaceful week
We have just spent a very peaceful 10 days at the Beechwood site. The facilities were very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. We have two dogs and the dog field was ideal and keep perfectly mowed. The site is ideally situated for visiting York, the east coast and near to Castle Howard that is well worth a visit
