Second Time and still as good as I Remember

This was our second visit to the site, the first one being many years ago and it was still as good as I remembered. the site was immaculate, the warden wonderful, the members friendly and welcoming and the site it'self lovely. There is a stud farm you drive down to enter and exit the site and we were greeted by young foals running about, brilliant. Check in process easy and friendly, found a nice pitch and away we went. For those with families there is a nice play area and huge dog walk area for those with dogs. The only thing is that you do need transport to get around, there are no paths from the site and the roads are busy. York has a good cycle route and so once on that you are ok, but you will need transport to get to anywhere from the site. Will I come again, you bet I will, that is if I can get in, very popular.

Exceptional site

Stayed here in June 2021, clean immaculate facilities. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who work tirelessly to make your holiday a good experience. The site is perfect for visiting York & surrounding area. Special thanks to the hardest working staff we have come across on any c&m site, Andy & Troy Many thanks for a great experience, looking forward to visiting again. Maureen & Graham

Top site

Spent a couple of weeks there in May. Everything was kept very clean. Despite the COVID restrictions the staff were very helpful and approachable. Lovely walks into York.Very little road noise from the nearby A64. I will definitely be back.

It’s good to be back!

As I said, it is so good to be back enjoying our vans again. We have really enjoyed our few days at this site which was really clean, well laid out and Covid safe. Julie, one of the wardens, rang us prior to our stay requesting payment and advised that we should be able to use the toilets, but not the showers, although we are quite happy to use our own facilities. When we arrived we were passed an envelope by the warden with all the information required and asked to ‘log in’ to the QR code. Other than not being able to use the showers our stay felt like normal (except for keeping your distance when talking to fellow caravanners). Well done to the wardens for making this as safe as possible in the circumstances and we will return. Thank you.

A countryside feel amidst major roads

This was my first visit to this site and I loved it for the feel of being in the countryside but yet major roads were circulating it not too far away. The traffic noise was not a problem. You can walk into York but its a long walk so I caught a taxi as the buses at this time were not always running, this cost £10 one way, which if sharing is not too bad. There is a lovely play area and a field also for the kids to run around in. Facilities were spotless as were the site. The managers were very pleasant and efficient. Will definitely return.

Safe stay

Recently returned for a long weekend at York. The site was well maintained and kept very clean. The dog exercise field is an added bonus. the site was fairly full but we felt safe at all times. The P7R is only 10 mins away and he best way to get into York. We will be back

Cleanliness

The site itself was good, it was the cleaning, whilst we are in unusual circumstances with the Covid 19 virus I think that the cleaning could have been better. The bin in the toilets were not emptied every day and they were open topped also the squeegee that is for cleaning the showers is no use what so ever and there was no antibacterial cleaner to use. The bands that were issued for the toilets had to be put on a hook which every-one used so any infection could spread, I used to clean mine with the hand sanitizer every time I removed it from the hook. My husband used the washing up facilities and noticed a couple of times that the floor had not been swept properly. I know this is unusual times but more effort needs to be taken. I speak as I am one of the people that has had to shield because of underlining systems,.

Recent stay

Cannot praise the site wardens highly enough after coming to assist my wife after my recent collapse on site. The assistance they gave her whilst I was being taken to York hospital was second to none. We were due to be leaving on Saturday 12th Sept to return home, the site staff looked after our dogs and saw to our awning and allowed us to stay an extra night whilst our friends drove down from Scotland to pick up our caravan to take it home. We will most certainly be back when I have recovered and am allowed to drive again. B Murie Pitch 107

Somewhere to sit and relax.

We stayed on the site 6th to the 10th Sept 2020. The staff where very good and helpful. Everywhere appeared Covid compliant .The pitch was level and spacious, there is good tv reception throughout the site. Water and chemical points where cleaned regularly by the staff. We used our own facilities so cannot comment on the site facilities. .You are only 5 minutes car ride from a large Sainsbury's or Asda.. both do click and collect. We will go back again. A very well maintained site with friendly wardens.
