cracking site

great site, stayed 4 nights in October, incredible access to the centre of York via the park and ride, which is 10% of the city car park charges, very clean and well maintained and very friendly and helpful staff. Do not use satnav to reach this place it will send you a mile away, site very poorly signposted from the island on the ring road, perhaps its a secret.

Brilliant site

Stayed for 5 nights in September (Not enough) enjoyed every minute. Great site, great facilities with large open pitches. Excellent for shopping and Park & Ride (5 mins by car). Crammed a lot in such a short stay will be back for longer, everything from Wardens to site, to access to York and surrounding area's could not be bettered :-)

Weekend stay

Stayed 30th Sept to 3rd Oct, lovely site no awning to fight with as we took full advantage of park and ride - (motorhome area was very busy)  Showers very busy and had to wait unless you are up very early but clean and lovely hot water. This was our second visit and we will come again as there's so much to do in York.

york beechwood grange

stayed on this club site 28th-sept - 1st oct . Lovely peaceful site with really friendly, helpful wardens .The site is very well maintained with a brilliant dog walk .The park n ride is only 1 1/4 mile away and good value at £2.80 return each person .Must say the only downside was inconsiderate people who are to lazy to use footpaths and walk across your pitch which is very annoying , come on respect other campers privacy .We will return to this site .

Great stay at Beechwood Grange

Easy to get to if you follow club directions, friendly welcome from the wardens, good size pitches, clean toilet block. Lots of things to do, park and ride to York close by, lots of shops, places to visit nearby Brezzy Knees Garden and Castle Howard are just two of the places we went too. Problem of people speeding on site is getting worse, not good when children are playing. We went on a site in Cornwall and the wardens had a blackboard to put the reg. Of speeding cars on. Good idea, but some people will never learn. We look forward to returning soon.

Second stop of Autumn tour

Good place to stay to visit York as we left it too late to book Rowntree park. We like walking from sites but this was prevented as we have dogs. However, we used our motorhome to our advantage using the Rawcliff Park and ride and walking to the city along the river Ouse. All park and rides will take dogs, and the bus staff will guide you to dog friendly pubs. Unfortunately, one of our dogs will not step on to a bus. It took ages to accustom him to our motorhome, and we dare not change it or it require renewal of the process.

Average CC site

We felt that the site lacked inspiration and could do more to look towards the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds rather than act as an overspill for Rowntree Park. We were on a pitch that backs on to the stud farm so there was occasional noise from the neighing horses. Road noise is surprisingly absent despite being located just off the York ring road. The site is busy. Easy to miss the access road off the roundabout. Bus stop to York and Scarborough is a 20 minute walk but the service is good. The Yorkshire Wolds are close by and the hills offer stunning 180 degree plus views over the countryside. Spurn Head is a pleasant drive on good roads. This site will not disappoint and the Wolds will invigorate.

Site entrance very restrictive

Staff very friendly and helpful. Traffic noise level high and constant day and night  Site clean and tidy. No other way out of site for walkers and dogs are unable to be walked out of sit entrance regardless whether their on a lead, in a dog carrier or basket of a bicycle. This making it very inconvenient for users of motorhomes.  For the above reasons we wouldn't be staying at this site again.

good site and central

this is a good site with big pitches and pretty central for travelling to york or scarborough etc. the site is tucked in amongst trees and next door to a stud farm and not too far away from a toby carvery and lots of stores at monks cross. the site is kept clean and tidy by the wardens bot the one toilet block is showing its age and is in need of a revamp.
