April Holiday Break

Lovely welcome to site by wardens, as we did arrive late in the evening, which pleased us from the start. The site is in a great location for peace and quiet, with plenty of walks surrounding the site. Due to wet period we experienced a grass site isn't the best to have an awning on as the clean up end took longer than usual. But overall our stay was great, the facilities were clean and tidy, but as others have said, it's a bit dated, and in need of investment to raise the standard to meet other sites. On another note, need to improve on TV & Sat Signal, and Internet access, but if your needed a quiet contactless break then this is the place for "away from it all" break. PapaT

Nice site, good location but needs some investment

North Berwick is one of our favourite spots to visit on the east coast and we always stay at Yellowcraigs. The new wardens are very friendly and helpful. However, this site is now getting to the stage where it needs some financial investment by The Club especially with regards to the Toilet Block and more Awning Pitches. The facilities (i.e. showers, toilets, hair dryers, etc.) are very dated and are sorely in need of updating and modernising, especially when you compare them to other club and non-club sites.  I do acknowledge that some minor investment has been made regarding the tarmacing of a short road on the inner grass area, but consideration needs to be given to establishing more gravel pitches for awnings. There are only a limited number of gravel pitches for awnings and the remaining awning pitches are grass, which when you have a lot of rain as we did during this stay, the ground under to groundsheet turned into mud and meant major washing of everything when we got home. Trust that this reveiw is looks at constructively. This is a very popular site which is always busy and deserves more investment.

Shame about the pitch

We stayed here in September 2015 as part of our tour of southern Scotland. It was extremely busy with every pitch taken but that didn't excuse how crammed in they were. We were put in a corner near the shower block which wasn't a problem in itself but the space we had was very small with all the surrounding pitches feeling as if they were on top of us. Good job it was only for 1 night. The facilities were spotless however as was the whole site. Very good dog walk and close proximity to the beach of course. If we booked again I would book a pitch with awning even though we don't have one just to get more room.

First time visit

We are fairly new to caravanning having just acquired our wee van in June last year, so trying out lots of places to find a few favourites and we have to say this will defo be on the top of our list. We visited last weekend. Great site. Wardens friendly and not too busy not to stop for a wee chat. Very clean and tidy facilities. Great wee shop with the local butchers delivering produce for breakfast! Great for families, there were quite a few kids visiting as start of school easter holidays. Lots of dogs too. but not noisy. Short walk to fab beach. Will be our site of choice when we have our grandkids for weekend. No mobile reception for virgin or EE (not always a bad thing) All in all brill!!!!!!

Perfect Easter getaway

We especially loved our family Easter trip to yellowcraig this year ...the wardens this year are the best yet. The warmest welcome from Maggie .our 5 young grandchildren love their stay and play here .....whatever the weather . The site is very well maintained and the facilities very clean and welcoming .our 7thEaster in a row here and put wee cherubs photos show happy dirty faces ...I've creams , same, scooters and bikes ....luv it . Our Lois even sneaked a complementary note in the book ...unknown to us ..aged 7 ! She said 'excelant'??my only concern is the reckless drivers who still speed around the loop past the playpark ! A disgrace .I'd advocate having child size characters positioned in this area or specific reminder note issed at check in ??

Lovely location

With a 5 minute walk to the beach the location was perfect for us and our dog. The site was very clean and tidy and the wardens very friendly and helpful.  We were there over the Easter weekend and despite being very busy did not feel crowded as there are several pitching areas.  We would not hesitate to come back again.

Second visit

This was our second visit to Yellowcraig and we were just as impressed this time as last time. Excellent play area for children and very close to the beach. One drawback this visit had nothing to do with the site, but our pitch backed on to a field which was ploughed and then tilled while we were there. It resulted in our car, caravan and awning being absolutely covered in fine soil after a very windy night, lol. Took the train in to Edinburgh from North Berwick - very cheap. Visited Tantallon Castle and Dunbar. Lots to do and places to visit. We will definitely be back. I am shocked that anyone would say it is not very child friendly when there is a lovely play area on site and an even better play area just a 5minute walk away on the way to the beach!

a great site

we have been visiting this site, on and off for around 45 years and we are still amazed at how much we enjoy it - it was just about full when we were there over the easter weekend but it still worked like clockwork - no hastle and plenty to do - the area is a joy with a beautiful beach and excellent walks - great place for dogs- the little town is still the same after all the years we have visited and my wife enjoys pottering around the shops - can't understand how anybody could think it was a boring site or area

Wonderful Friendly Site

We stayed here for the 1st time at the end of October and I couldn't fault it.  The wardens are really lovely and very helpful and the site is immaculate. Great position with lots of walking and very dog friendly too with a large dog walking area. Very easy to walk down to the beach from the site or to one of the pubs in the local village for a bite to eat. Can't wait to go back!
