Just returned from a wonderful 6 nights at Yellowcraig. The location is perfect... regular trains from North Berwick to Edinburgh take only 30 mins or so direct into Waverley station. 5 minutes walk and you are on a stunning beach - great for walking. Friendly wardens were very helpful and the facilities top notch - very clean and warm. Plenty of space and a nice little play area that our 6 yr old son enjoyed.
Great Location
Spent the weekend at site this recently.
It's a great location being just a short walk from the beach and Dirleton village. The site is well kept and cared for and appears smaller than it actually is due to the clever use of berms and hedging to separate the site into distinct pitching areas. Clean and warm facilities with, luxury of luxuries, showers that provide a decent flow and don't require constant button pushing. The only slight fly in the ointment was being lectured on arrival (well before 20:00 on a Friday evening) for having the temerity to turn up, in late October, without an advance booking, as we interrupted the warden's evening meal. As we work for a living and usually set off after work, we prefer not to book in advance in case we're unable to arrive before the latest check-in time (we do check in advance that there is availability though). Can't see any reference in the rules or by-laws to say an advance booking is a requirement either. However, this did not detract from the quality of the site itself and we would return.
Happy times
We have been to Yellowcraig quite a few times and have always enjoyed it having to Standard Poodles you need some place to burn off energy and the dog walk is perfect well manicured and but for the few dog owners that think it is perfectly all right to walk away from their dogs dirt , so I would say get some big signs up telling dog owners to clean up after there dogs , maybe a description of the illnesses it can cause to children and other animals may help , to the staff thanks again for a nice time , regards Ken Crombie
Peaceful Autumnal Break
First time I have visited this site. Put it off earlier in the year for a second trip to Marragowan. Weather forecast was good so off we went on 15th October for a six night stay. A good choice an excellent site loved walking the dog on the beach daily. First night fireworks were let off nearby in Archerfield which traumatised my dog something that happens quite often I have heard. Facilities were excellent new playpark for the kids also a council park in Yellowcraig woods. Pitches were limited when I arrived (schools were still off on holiday) but did get a hardstanding pitch.
Rabbits were numerous but not a problem until they dropped dead on the spot, might be upsetting for the children. Wifi was a problem, there was none. Hope this can be remedied before return trip next year. East Fortune Museum of Flight will be completed in March 2016. Will visit there again as well, another good day out for the family. To late for a visit to the Bass Rock hope to catch that next year. Wardens very helpful got my rolls and paper every morning.
3rd visit this year and despite wardens horrendous attitude will be back
We visited again for our 3rd visit this year as our 4 young children, dog, grandparents and overall as a family, love the location of the site and the walks etc in the area are fantastic. Unfortunately our arrival on site was met by the most horrendous attitude I have ever experienced on arriving at a site. I know rules have to be followed but the circumstances surrounding the situation did not warrant the reaction from the site team. If it had been my first visit I would've seriously reconsidered revisiting. Fortunately I don't really have to have much contact with the site personnel, who obviously need some customer contact training. I stay on caravan club sites because they are mostly well managed but the staff on site have to realise that we as customer deserve to be treated in a civil manner and not spoken to as if we are children!
Autumn break
It is two years since we visited this site. It was lovely to be back. We had a lovely pitch with views towards Archerfield and saw deer, pheasant , wonderful sunsets etc.We were lucky with our weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wardens did a wonderful job maintaining the site. We beleive they are moving to pastures new and wish them well wherever they go. Only complaint why can we only stay 21 days when sites are getting quieter in October? At our ages 75 and 80 , it is a thought to move off and move back on a few days later. Could Caravan Club nor relax this policy in the "off" season.

A blue sky week
Arrived on the Friday in gorgeous weather and found only a few spaces left. Luckily we had booked. The site is very neat and tidy with well tended flowering baskets giving a lovely welcome. Staff very helpful and friendly. Toilet block spotless. Lots of good walks from the site. Pets were numerous but very quiet. Site shop a bit pricey but stocks the usual bits and bobs.
No wifi, which was a disappointment as I had paid for the 1 year Caravan Club Wifi subscription, thinking all sites would have Wifi as standard. Very poor mobile signal too, meaning I had to leave the site to check on my family using my mobile. Could Wifi be installed please?
Overall a lovely site and I'd highly recommend it for people of all ages.
I've been a few times before and will be back many times more.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently had booked well in advance only to find there was only 3 spaces left on arrival so if you are interested make sure you book !
Toilet block was spotless, staff more than friendly towards any visitors, well kept site that is only let down by too many rabbits being allowed to dig holes anywhere they can which means watch were you walk as you can easily go over on an ankle, great walk nearby along the beach and the local pubs / hotels offer great food if you care to dine out. Wi Fi connection was very poor although TV reception was very good. Will no doubt be back for a longer stay next time.
