Yellowcraig Caravan site

This is one of the best sites we have stayed at. Very friendly wardens, excellent facilities and outstanding countryside for walks along the beach or through the forests. The village of Dirleton is delightful with a beautiful church and castle to visit. North Berwick is within walking distance with a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. Close to the A1, this site is easy to get to. Highly recommended.

Three nighter

Yellowcraig is a nice quiet site with easy access for coastal walks and local attractions. We met caravan friends of ours there and stayed three nights. However, having a motor home it is quite expensive when we did not need or use all the facilities, only an electric hook up, and grey waste disposal. There are a lot of CL sites which offer the same facilities for us and a lot cheaper. Never the less we enjoyed our stay but simply could not afford to pay these rates for all our stopovers. Remember you can get a Premier Inn for £9 a night more!

Could be so better!

Our third trip here to a good site but nothing is done to address the detailed irritations yet the CC club keeps raising the price ! - No wifi though despite what the CC says mobile signal for EE & O2 good!! - entrance unnecessarily narrow so existing & new arrivals held up to get in/out - 4 times this trip worst being for 10 mins on one occasion with a takeaway rapidly cooling! - rules not kept - dogs allowed to play off lead & new arrivals allowed in from 11a.m. & after 8 p.m.! - noisy grass strimming done each of our 3 Sunday mornings, in one case before 9 a.m. BUT it is a great site with a magic beach & nearby walks & its own micro climate. Wardens seemed to work hard to keep everything tidy & clean. The Woof wash was ideal for our Cocker who loved to race into the sea, coming back with loads of sand. A friendly quiet site which could be so much better with just a little more attention to detail & improvement of facilities!

Another great stay

Have been visiting this site a few times a year for the last 4 years.   A change to the Wardens this year who are great just as the previous (Fiona and Lewis).    My daughter, who has complex additional needs, is welcomed with open arms and included.   Her needs are catered for and the Wardens make you feel relaxed, individual, help when help is requested and offer when help isn't requested.   Thank you so much for making our stay one to remember. Site is spotlessly clean, toilet block, laundry, dishwashing alike.   Had great weather, which was a bonus.   Play park was replaced last year and looks great however my only criticism of this is that there isn't much for toddler age other than swings.   All equipment is too daunting for my daughter given her special needs.   The chute's were removed as was the wobbly bridge and she loved them!   But if you don't have children this isn't an issue at all. Overall, another excellent stay and will be back during the summer.

Ask motorhome users

A lot of good things about the site but motorhome service point needs improvement: Too short between plant pot on grass and next junction to place over drain - should have a grill like Culloden (not heavy cover). Also why can I not make these comments without filling in the "stars" - so have just put three to each.

Back Again

Our second visit to this site, which has changed and expanded since we were last here, probably 20 years (or more) ago.  The site is very near the beach and now has many hard standings, also the rabbit population is still as large and the wind still blows hard and cold off the North Sea.  It's May so we expect this but it's amazing to see the little ones paddling in the sea with mum and dad in the winter jackets standing alongside!  We were very lucky with sunny weather so if you hide behind a wind break (most needed for this site) its quite warm!  There is no Wifi but '3' works OK on this site so tethering gives you computer access.  The toilet blocks are very clean and the wardens very friendly.  The Museum of Flight at East Fortune is well worth a visit and they have a very good cafe too for lunch.

no phone reception or wifi, is a def downfall

This is a lovely site, but the no phone reception and no wifi is def a prob, and as we've paid for a yrs Caravan Club wifi, would be good if we could get the benefit of it, other than that can't fault this site.

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit..

Visited the site for the early May bank holiday this year, as always we found the site up to the usual high club standard. The site was kept lovely and tidy, the facilities were kept spotless . We had my granddaughter with us and she loved watching the rabbits hopping about on the site, the playing facilities and the nearby beach. The site has a great location, only a few minutes walk from the beach and in the other direction from the nearby village of Dirleton, with it's castle, village green and a couple of nice places for a meal or just a drink. A great place, we will be back.

lovely peaceful site

Husband & I stayed for 4 nights with our 3 dogs. Lovely clean site with great facilities (as expected from CC sites). Pleasant, helpful staff. Great doggie walk area and plenty local walks. Nice area for cycling too. Recommend the site 100%.

Our favourite site

Another fabby visit to our favourite site with our four children and dog who always make the requests to return to Yellowcraigs. So nice to meet the lovely, helpful and welcoming new wardens and can't wait for our next visit in July. U know it's a g8 site when u ask kids "where do u want to go 2day" and they reply "can we just stay in and around the site please?" Fantastic for kids and my parents love it too for the peace and quiet so suits all.
