5 night stay

Just home from a fabulous stay on this site.  One of the best sites we have been too. The wardens are very friendly and keep the site and toilet block immaculate. Toilet block has everything you need and always hot water. As we don't have children the down side for us was having kids running and riding bikes at speed all over the place and a bit too close to our pitch. A great site for people with dogs, large dog walk at entrance to site and so many other walks with out using the car. We will be back.

Fantastic 5 Days at Yellowcraigs

Just had a great 5 days at Yellowcraig site at North Berwick. Book over the phone and Warden was more than helpful. Arrived on Sunday picked a pitch then relaxed. Site and toilets spotless wardens always out and about cutting grass and cleaning the site. first time on this site but it won't be the last. Thanks for a great few days we did enjoy it.

Great site

Arrived on 3/7/16 for 3 night stay with a disabled person in party of 3. She said the disabled facilities were the best she'd been to. Pitched next to play park that was noisy in the mornings and evenings but a great bonus for families. Facilities all very good - lots of showers and toilets so no queueing. Pitches very large. Both Berwick is a smashing town with the bird life centre and beach as well. The site managers were very friendly and helpful. The dog walk was one of the best on site walks I have been to.    Have thought about coming to this site before but unable to book a hard standing pitch (except in this situation with a wheelchair user) and since I have been stuck fast on a waterlogged grass pitch on another site, I am reluctant to take the chance again with taking pot luck in the motorhome. Would like to visit again.

Nice Site Well Placed

We arrived a day late due to my operation but the staff were very understanding and didn't mind at all.  We were allowed to choose our own pitch but advised of the full areas.  We got settled at 58 and were very impressed.  The toilet block and service areas were near.  A bit of rust in the showers could do with some attention but overall very good, very powerfuI , I particularly liked the removable shower head as with a broken arm this made showering easier. The dog exercise area is the best we've had so far; a walkway and a huge field to throw a ball in, this was fantastic as unfortunately it rained most of our visit but meant our dog got good exercise on site.  The beach is accessible st the end of the entrance in a separate car park with a lovely walk.   The site comes alive at night with rabbits,  a delight to watch but not so nice to tread in the bunny poo or when your dog eats it and ends up vomiting, but that's nature so we can't complain. Beware of the burrows there are loads dotted all over the site.  Out and about, we visited North Berwick, Tantallon Castle, Dirleton Castle and Dirleton village.  North Berwick beach is very accessible at many points. We had a lovely lunch at the Golfer's Rest in North Berwick (dog friendly). Overall a good base for exploring and would definitely recommend, we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Beach Walk

We arrived at Yellowcraig for a three night stay. This is a lovely site the location is very good for walkers and birdwatchers and of course us dog lovers!!! We walked the John Muir way into North Berwick then walked back along the beach, our dog loved this running into the sea. North Berwick has some lovely shops, tea rooms, fish and chip shops and restaurants, and a traditional old fashioned butchers shop, the quality of meat is perfect. We were lucky enough to be on this site when the fresh fish van came around, we purchased some cod and it was beautiful. Site wardens were very nice and helpful. Lovely site.

Loved it

A site with a bike with flowers and a teddy sat on it at the entrance says 'welcome' and more. Location is excellent for both families and couples. It's a short walk to the beach and then lots of sand to walk along or play on. As an older couple not sure we would choose to stay here in school holidays but then we don't need to so will enjoy it when it is quieter. Opportunities for coastal walking and pottering are great. Edinburgh would be good too but train strikes and Highland show ruled that out for our visit. Full marks to all of the very hard working wardens Enjoy - we did.

Great to be back

We have not been at this site for years after a change of wardens. Whilst walking our dogs a the beautiful beach last month we wandered onto the site for a look and what a surprise one of the warmest welcomes to a site in a good while. After looking round and seeing the site was back to its best booked in for a week. Arriving on the 20th June we were not disappointed again a great welcome from the warden who genuinely appeared happy at her work which never faltered throughout the week. Facilities are spotless, the site was clean and tidy. This site is now back near the top of our favourites list. We shall return.

Just perfect

We visit Yellowcraig every June and I think there is little I can add to all the positive reviews! This year particularly we thought the site looked very neat and tidy and a lot of time and effort is spent by the very friendly wardens, assistants and volunteers keeping everything mown and strimmed and pruned. During our stay they even turned their capable hands to re-stoning some pitches. Well done and thanks for all your hard work.

Great first experience

Having just bought a caravan for the family this was our first trip away. The site is well kept and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful to this first time caravanner. The kids loved the park, the beach and especially The Den. it was great to have lots of space to walk the dogs too. Only negative is that there was not much of a phone signal on Vodafone and i could not get any TV reception (truthfully this was not really a bad thing on this particular trip but might have been annoying if I wanted it). All in all we had a great time and will return again in the future.

Wonderful site

We have been visiting Yellowcraig for a few years now at least twice in the season often more and we really love it the only complaint is no wifi, on rainy night it would be nice to log in, however the dog walk and the nearby wood and dunes make our dog very happy and the nearby town of North Berwick is a lovely friendly place with several nice places to eat, get wifi and we would visit more
