Access to London

I use the site as a base for getting into London.  Denham station is less than half an hours walk and the Chiltern trains are reasonably frequent getting you into Marylebone station. From there the tube will get you to all the sights, museums and exhibitions you could want.  I must use it more often! I don't have much to add to other reviews here. There is some noise but it is quiet between 9pm and 7am usually.

Excellent site

On arrival from the hectic M25 we had a wonderful welcome from both of the wardens, who could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. My husband loves light aircraft and thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the aerodrome with the dog. Dogs are well catered for with lovely a woodland with good paths adjoining the site, just what we needed after a long tow. If only we had realised that Pinewood Studios was so close we would have tried to time our visit with a conducted tour, so maybe next time, we will certainly return to this excellent site. The facilities were immaculate too and the warden kindly gave me a map to help us find our way back to the M25 which was not just a case of re-tracing our steps to our exit junction.

Helicopters Noise

Really nice little site. Warden was very helpful and chatty. Location is good for getting into London,M40 and all roads. Only down fall was the helicopters taking off from 8 am to 8 pm, it seemed like every 15 minutes, it probably was not as often as that but it did seem like it.

Very helpful first night

Our first night away in our first caravan with the family. We collected the caravan in the morning and were pitched up at Wyatts Covert by 6pm. As the site is only 6 miles from our home we were mostly interested in understanding how the van worked rather than exploring the local area. Greeted wonderfully on arrival, made to feel very welcome. I had trouble with the electricity hook up and we were missing a waste water pipe, none of this was too much trouble and the helpful wardens found us a spare waste pipe in the shed. Facilities were spotless and the showers hot, well maintained site and very quiet overnight after the airport closes. Thanks for helping our first night be a success, would have stayed another night but that site was too busy.

Enjoyed the stay, but it's noisy.

Very friendly wardens who keep the site in immaculate condition. The shower block is very, very clean! It is positioned well for wembley stadium which is a 12 minute train ride from Denham station, which is a five minute drive away. It's about 40 minutes to central London. The downside is the noise. Not from traffic, but the nearby airfield. The warning saying 'there maybe some noise from the nearby airfield' is a huge understatement. It was almost continuous during daylight hours, with helicopters being the worst. We were out most of the day but still found it intrusive. The hard standings are the hardest we have ever used and 'rock pegs' are a necessity for awnings and accessories. Overall, it's friendly, really clean but noisy during the day.

Ideal for short break

Well kept very clean site. Ideal for our visit to wembley stadium. Trains run from Denham straight to stadium. Couldnt be easier. Wardens very friendly. Quite a lot of aircraft noise from aerodrome but not a problem for short stay.would definitely use again.

Return to Wyatt's Covert

This was a return visit after about 15 years. Site is clean and tidy and the facilities block has been refurbished since our last visit. There's some noise from the nearby airfield, to be expected but there's very little aircraft noise after 8pm.  The site is very handy for Denham Station and trips into London; our experience of Chiltern Rail was very positive. Don't try to venture out early weekday morning and teatime, the A412 is very slow through the lights at Denham Green towards the A40. Also watch out on the site approach, especially Denham Green Lane which is in a very poor state of repair. We nearly bounced the caravan off the back of the car on one particularly bad rut. After a few days we learnt which bits of the lane to avoid. Tilehouse Lane north of the site isn't for the faint hearted either. All said though, it's a useful site to know, there's lots to do in the locality.

Small, tidy site easy access to London

We stayed for five nights. The site is in a green area near to Denham. Lots of places to visit by car or train from this site. We visited Windsor Saint Albans, and London. There is also a pretty old village of Denham. The site is well maintained and the facilities spotless. You would never know you were close to the capital city. Definitely recommend if you want to visit London or it's surrounding area.

Good Central Base for London & Suburbs

We are a family travelling with 3 kids - ages 14, 10 & 6 - 3 night stay, Whitsun bank holiday weekend. Warm welcome from wardens. Site, including shower block, very well maintained. Site is small, no children's play area but this didn't bother our kids - youngest enjoyed riding his bike, older 2 made good use of the Wi-Fi which for the most part worked okay. Play area would be good though, especially if we were having a longer stay. Unfortunately due to illness, we could only manage one day out & not the planned two. We went to Thorpe Park, only about 30 mins drive (max with no traffic) - look for the 2 for 1 offers for this theme park & tesco clubcard offers - we paid £90 for the 5 of us & took a picnic with us. Thorpe Park is better for our older 2, not so good for our 6 year old. Wouldn't want to pay full price for the theme park. Understand that this site is ideally based to explore London so we will return to do this. Whilst there is some aircraft noise, as mentioned in previous reviews, noise is daytime only & really didn't bother us at all. Major supermarkets 10 mins drive. Despite illness, we had a good break & will definitely have this on our list to return when we want to explore the capital.

Lovely Site

We only stayed one night as a stopover. Lovely site, friendly helpful wardens and ideal for dogs as the woods are right next to the site.  Rather expensive but convenient as just off the M40/M25
