One night only

We stayed at this site for one night only, facilities good and wardens very smiley and friendly. Not so quiet and tranquil as there is an aerodrome next door. Quiet at night but noisy during the day, ok if you are a plane and helicopter spotter though ??

Convenient for us to get into London

We stayed here for three nights and used the two days to do some sightseeing in London. Very convenient, easy access from M25/M40, narrow lane into site though. Better to use Denham Green Road, rather than Tilehouse Lane on approach to the site. Denham railway station ( direct service to London Marylebone Station) just over 1 mile away. Wardens very cheerful and helpful, had train timetable and local taxi firms details readily available. Site not large by Caravan Club standards, and there were a number of families staying when we were. There did not appear to be much for the children to do on site, and there was some racing around on their bikes. Yes there is daytime helicopter and light aircraft noise from the nearby airfield, but as we spent most of the days out this did not disturb us.We will use this site again because of its convenience for us to get into London.

Well, I liked it!

Only stayed for one night, but found it clean, tidy and attractive. Narrow lane to get there, but apart from that......enjoyed it!

So Noisy!!!

To say and I quote 'some aircraft noise' is such an understatement. It is so noisy with light aircraft and helicopters landing frequently between 8am & 8pm, this was unbearable for us and we are glad that an emergency at home forced us to leave a day early. This and the fact the warden was very rude, patronising and completely over the top about positioning on the pitch - we had only just arrived and were sitting down to a spot of lunch when he knocked on the door and proceeded to lecture us on not knowing our off from our near side of our m/h and how it was clearly explained in the club's handbook! For the sake of 3 feet from where we should have been to the pitch marker, he made us park with our door facing grass as opposed to on the gravel. On taking a walk round this site later on that day almost half the outfits on site were incorrectly positioned. We were made to feel like scalded children. Just completely over the top with rules and regulations. Stayed on many CC sites before and after becoming a member and they are far more relaxed (obviously within reason and using a little common sense about how you park) this wasted the last leg of our two week European Tour as our daughter wanted to visit Legoland on route back home to Scotland. Apart from this the facilities are absolutely immaculate and the location to the local attractions is ideal. But the noise is too much to bear and the rules and regulations take the fun out of touring holidays. Sorry can't recommend.

first visit

Some of the staff are ok but one in particular was downright unfriendly no matter what you did he moaned not parked how he liked it shouted when we pulled our motor home round to the motor home service point when he thought we were going to empty a chemical toilet we had stopped to empty it at the disposal point and were told we couldn't stop there he was just a grumpy old s** apart from him the site was ok as long as he is there can't recommend this site helicopters taking off from 8 am to 8 pm, it seemed like every 15 minutes

Access to London

I use the site as a base for getting into London.  Denham station is less than half an hours walk and the Chiltern trains are reasonably frequent getting you into Marylebone station. From there the tube will get you to all the sights, museums and exhibitions you could want.  I must use it more often! I don't have much to add to other reviews here. There is some noise but it is quiet between 9pm and 7am usually.

Excellent site

On arrival from the hectic M25 we had a wonderful welcome from both of the wardens, who could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. My husband loves light aircraft and thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the aerodrome with the dog. Dogs are well catered for with lovely a woodland with good paths adjoining the site, just what we needed after a long tow. If only we had realised that Pinewood Studios was so close we would have tried to time our visit with a conducted tour, so maybe next time, we will certainly return to this excellent site. The facilities were immaculate too and the warden kindly gave me a map to help us find our way back to the M25 which was not just a case of re-tracing our steps to our exit junction.

Helicopters Noise

Really nice little site. Warden was very helpful and chatty. Location is good for getting into London,M40 and all roads. Only down fall was the helicopters taking off from 8 am to 8 pm, it seemed like every 15 minutes, it probably was not as often as that but it did seem like it.

Very helpful first night

Our first night away in our first caravan with the family. We collected the caravan in the morning and were pitched up at Wyatts Covert by 6pm. As the site is only 6 miles from our home we were mostly interested in understanding how the van worked rather than exploring the local area. Greeted wonderfully on arrival, made to feel very welcome. I had trouble with the electricity hook up and we were missing a waste water pipe, none of this was too much trouble and the helpful wardens found us a spare waste pipe in the shed. Facilities were spotless and the showers hot, well maintained site and very quiet overnight after the airport closes. Thanks for helping our first night be a success, would have stayed another night but that site was too busy.

Enjoyed the stay, but it's noisy.

Very friendly wardens who keep the site in immaculate condition. The shower block is very, very clean! It is positioned well for wembley stadium which is a 12 minute train ride from Denham station, which is a five minute drive away. It's about 40 minutes to central London. The downside is the noise. Not from traffic, but the nearby airfield. The warning saying 'there maybe some noise from the nearby airfield' is a huge understatement. It was almost continuous during daylight hours, with helicopters being the worst. We were out most of the day but still found it intrusive. The hard standings are the hardest we have ever used and 'rock pegs' are a necessity for awnings and accessories. Overall, it's friendly, really clean but noisy during the day.
