Fantastic friendly site

The welcome at this site was fantastic. The wardens went out of their way to ensure you had a good break and could not have been anymore helpful, If only the welcome was like this on every site. There was noise from the airfield but I was expecting this and I have to say I did not find it at intrusive. The facilities were kept very clean. Wi-fi worked well during the stay which is not always the case and so I was pleasantly surprised as it is a bronze rated site. I will be back next year i had such a lovely time.

Ideal for London attractions

Yes the aircraft are noisy but you soon get used to them. Perfect for the Harry Potter studio tour, less than 20 minutes away. London was easy by train and very cheap and only about a 20 minute walk to the station. The wardens were very friendly and very helpful with good local knowledge. The site itself was very clean and very tidy.

If you want Peace & Quite.. not a place for you

Site is in an excellent location re the major road networks and is a small but comfortable site with good amenities. Within easy distance of Windsor and Eton and other large Outer London towns but expect the road networks to be not a tranquil driving experience as you have to have eyes in the back of your head (well it is Outer London). I recommend a visit to the Chilterns Open Air Museum about 20mins drive from site and you will get peace and quite here. The only draw back with this club site is the sometimes excessive noise from the adjacent airfield from the light aircraft and helecopters whose flight path is over the site but it stops between 8pm and 7.30am so its not a site to visit if you want to sit reading and relaxing during the day. Vehicle movement on site is also a problem well before 8am and some members are very noisy at these times and do not think of others.

Great for london

Site is small and clean very helpful warden Definatly follow the site directions not your sat nav as it's tight for the last bit Travelling to London is cheap and easy ..forget the overground from denham it's expensive A short drive to ruislip park for 4 quid and take either metropolitan or picadilly line to the centre of london . There is noise on site from the airfield but didn't bother us however if you park near the back of the site you will be woken by the waste recycling site from 7 am Also a few inconsiderate campervanners firing up at 6 and leaving engines running Overall can't get better for trips to London

Fantastic campsite with very helpful wardens and immaculate facilities!

We have got nothing negative to say about this campsite. Spacious pitches, helpful wardens, beautiful surroundings, immaculate toilets/shower block. It really is a fantastic site. We spent one day in central London (30 minutes drive and parked near the Royal Albert Hall for the day) and we also went to Go Ape at Black Park (20 minutes) and the rest of the time we stayed local. The walk along the canal near Denham Deep lock was lovely and also the country park. If ever we have to go to London again we will most definitely take the caravan and stay on this site. It's a shame we don't live closer or we would be regulars (we live 3 hours away). Thankyou Wyatts Covert for a brilliant stay. From the Jacksons

Daytime noise a significant issue

We stayed on this site for 5 nights. While I worked in London, my wife stayed on site to recuperate after an operation. The approach to the site was a bit rough, but we had no issues. The Wardens, when we arrived, were absolutely marvellous; Friendly, helpful and a delight throughout our stay. The site itself is clean, well laid out and felt very safe and secure. The facilities are good. The biggest issue her though is noise from the adjacent airfield. The hand book says say's that there is 'some' noise, but this is grossly understated, and misleading. Helicopter's start at 7am, and fly noisily around in circles, at low level, until well into the evening. Other aircraft come and go during the day, and some flights landed at close to midnight. I wasn't around during the day, but my wife was very relieved when we went home. If you are wanting a base that is close to London, then this site is perfect. Its 20minutes on a train to Marylebone, but if you are looking for a peaceful break away, especially at weekends, then forget it, which is really a shame.

Weekend Stay for London Marathon

We booked onto this site with the same purpose as another reviewer, to watch our son run in the London Marathon. Great connection to London Centre (Marylebone Station) on frequent Chiltern Railways service from Denham - takes between 25 and 30 mins deending on which train you get. One other warning, watch out which train you get as it stops at Wembley Stadium and if there's an event ending the tains do get rather full. The site was very clean and tidy with very friendly wardens. I haven't scored it high on facilities because there were only three showers in the male toilet block and this could be a bit limitingin high season. There is some noise from the very near local airport which you will notice during the day but we never heard anything at night so perhaps they don't allow night flying - could be an issue if you want to sleep in though. Others comments regarding access are quite valid and yuo definitely need to follow the diections on the club site and take care over the final 100 meters of approach. I would suggest that the barrier control for leaving the site could do with being relocated as it was difficult enough to reach it from the car running solo, so if you are single ahnded and towing a caravan you may well struggle. All in all, quite a good site and we will certainly stay here again if we need to visit central London.

Marathon visit

Stayed here to see my daughter run the marathon, good location for London, easy to travel from Denham station. The wardens were very good, friendly and very helpful, good facilities as you would expect. This is our fifth time here really good for visits to London and surrounding area.

Excellent but beware of Approach

Excellent location for access to London and this part of the country. 30 min walk to Denham rail station for 20 minute train ride into Marylebone, or park at the station for about £3 for the day. Lovely countryside nearby with Grand Union canal 15 minute drive away. Very well maintained site with usual facilities and friendly wardens. Beware of approach, follow the Clubs directions, even then the final 50 yards is a bit of fingers crossed job, hoping nothing comes the other way. Entrance is shared with mobile home park and Club entrance is tucked away sharp right as you leave the main road. Any noise from nearby aerodrome didn't affect us and very quiet at night. Overall good site for what we used it for, ie visiting London.
