Super small site but you need to like helicopters!

Lovely friendly wardens welcomed us on our first outing this year after all the cold and wet weather! This trip was in mid April 2018. All pitches are hardstandings and easily accessible. We had read about the noise from the airfield opposite the site but contrary to what some members had said, the flying does not always stop in the early evening, and on two of our days continued even after dark. None during the night fortunately. The walk to nearby Denham Green is easy at about a mile, takes around 20 minutes each way, and there are a few small restaurants there plus a small Co-op supermarket, and a Budgens at the petrol station, so we had no need to take our motorhome off site. The site facilities were well up to Club standards.

Don't follow sat nav!

We chose this site because of the location fairly near to family and places we wanted to visit. It served a purpose - it was a very basic site. We made a mistake by following sat nav and ended up along a single track road with passing places and potholes. (There are a lot of heavy vehicles working on HS2.) We recommend following the sites instructions or take the sat nav route at your peril! The village of Denham is lovely but probably nearer 2 miles than the said 1.5! Lovely pubs and very picturesque. There is also an hotel nearby which we didn't know about until it was time to leave. For a day out in London we chose to get the bus to Uxbridge which is in zone 6 and from there getting a day unlimited travel ticket. To get back from Uxbridge to the camp site allow at least £10 for a taxi (use Denham taxi rather than the station ones). We thought this was the best way for a day out in London but trains do go from Denham to Marylebone as well.

Convenient Small Site

Stayed at Wyatt’s Covert for two nights while visiting family in west London. Friendly welcome from the wardens. Spotless warm facilities, essential with Beast from the East 2 blasting in! Although there is noise from the airfield across the road, it only is during daytime and was not an issue for us. Access to the site is good, although leaving on Sunday morning was nail biting with the slope down through the housing estate very icy and covered in snow, not Caravan Club fault though, blame God. Overall excellent site we will be back.

Ideal for Visiting Harry Potter Studios

We visited this site during school half term holidays specifically as we'd booked to go to Harry Potter studios. This was ideal as it only took us about 20 mins by car to reach the studios from the site with no problems. The site is in a lovely area and is easily reached off the M25. It feels like you are out in the country and is very peaceful. The only noise is from the airfield but this didn't really bother us and was quite interesting to see the aircraft and helicopters. Our pitch was very large and the site was very clean. A special mention to the wardens who were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this site.

Ideal Location for visiting London

Stayed here for 3 nights in half term, site is clean and tidy and wardens are very friendly. Travelled by train from Denham to London Marylebone - adult day ticket with London zones 1-6 underground and bus £13.30 and child ticket £1 Parking at Denham train station is £7 per day before 1000 hours and £4 per day after. We parked on Tilehouse Lane without restrictions. Visited Kensington Palace - bought tickets online before we left at £15.50 per adult, children go free. Well worth a visit and includes an exhibition of some of Princess Diana's dresses on show. Walked to her memorial fountain - be aware do not look for a fountain, it's a memorial set in a hillside. Also visited Natural History Museum which, along with the other museums, is free entry. Best to plan your visit before you go due to the size of the exhibitions.

Lovely Clean and well run site

Lovely Clean, well run site. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The site was kept spotless clean. Lovely toilet block with fantastic pressure on the showers. Great for watching the light aircrafts coming down over the road, which stops around 5:30 pm. Very quiet and peaceful after this time. We will definitely be returning.

Compact and Convenient

Second visit in a year. Compact, clean site with friendly staff. Adjoining woods for dog walks. Helicopter and small planes regularly fly from the adjoining aerodrome during the day - can be quite noisy at times. Approach road from the A40 is very tight from the aerodrome entrance to the site with a couple of very small passing spaces. The bushes on both sides impede a good line of sight and can scratch the sides of the caravan and car if one is trying to make room for a vehicle to pass. Also avoid the narrow Tilehouse Way. Instead go through the village past the Fuel garage and take Denham Green Lane. Showers and toilets are superb.

Lovely Welcome

Had a great stay under difficult circumstances as we were visiting Wyatts Covert to attend a funeral. The staff were very accommodating and empathetic. Great situation for London. The local airfield has some light aircraft and helicopters taking off and landing but didn't disturb us. Thanks for a great stay we will be back!

Six day stay

We have stayed here on many occasions. An excellent site with wardens who do everything to make stay successful and comfortable. Cafe at airfield well worth a visit even in winter. Good local shops.
