Ideal Location for visiting London

Stayed here for 3 nights in half term, site is clean and tidy and wardens are very friendly. Travelled by train from Denham to London Marylebone - adult day ticket with London zones 1-6 underground and bus £13.30 and child ticket £1 Parking at Denham train station is £7 per day before 1000 hours and £4 per day after. We parked on Tilehouse Lane without restrictions. Visited Kensington Palace - bought tickets online before we left at £15.50 per adult, children go free. Well worth a visit and includes an exhibition of some of Princess Diana's dresses on show. Walked to her memorial fountain - be aware do not look for a fountain, it's a memorial set in a hillside. Also visited Natural History Museum which, along with the other museums, is free entry. Best to plan your visit before you go due to the size of the exhibitions.

Lovely Clean and well run site

Lovely Clean, well run site. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The site was kept spotless clean. Lovely toilet block with fantastic pressure on the showers. Great for watching the light aircrafts coming down over the road, which stops around 5:30 pm. Very quiet and peaceful after this time. We will definitely be returning.

Compact and Convenient

Second visit in a year. Compact, clean site with friendly staff. Adjoining woods for dog walks. Helicopter and small planes regularly fly from the adjoining aerodrome during the day - can be quite noisy at times. Approach road from the A40 is very tight from the aerodrome entrance to the site with a couple of very small passing spaces. The bushes on both sides impede a good line of sight and can scratch the sides of the caravan and car if one is trying to make room for a vehicle to pass. Also avoid the narrow Tilehouse Way. Instead go through the village past the Fuel garage and take Denham Green Lane. Showers and toilets are superb.

Lovely Welcome

Had a great stay under difficult circumstances as we were visiting Wyatts Covert to attend a funeral. The staff were very accommodating and empathetic. Great situation for London. The local airfield has some light aircraft and helicopters taking off and landing but didn't disturb us. Thanks for a great stay we will be back!

Six day stay

We have stayed here on many occasions. An excellent site with wardens who do everything to make stay successful and comfortable. Cafe at airfield well worth a visit even in winter. Good local shops.

From booking to departure, an excellent service

We arrived late on New Years eve in the rain but could not have received a warmer welcome (and a mince pie to boot). We had had a problematical journey but the warden stayed in touch with us which was so reassuring. The site was spotless, facilities fabulous and it is a great location if you want to go and explore London. We were just staying the one night this time but will definately return.

Handy

We have recently spent two more one-night stops at Wyatts Covert as we find it very handy to break long journeys from our home in Norfolk. We did once use the site for a few days as a base for visiting London and this was very useful as the railway station is not far away. The facilities on site are as you would expect on a club site, which is to say spotless, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My one little niggle is noise from the nearby airfield, although this doesn't continue late into the evening. There's a wood next to the site which is wonderful if you travel with your dog, and still pretty nice if you don't. If you're staying longer than we did, there's plenty to see within reasonable driving time. We will certainly be using this site again.

Great friendly site for London

Stayed in October last year lovely warm welcome from the wardens very clean site well maintained, and level pitches. Great location for the train station or a 10 min drive to Uxbridge or Hillingdon to catch the tube. We will be back this year for our annual London visit.

Not the quietest site!

We stayed recently for 4 nights, using it as a base to visit friends and places in the area. As I said in the title it is not the quietest of sites due to the close proximity of an aerodrome. This is used for light aircraft and helicopters both for normal flights to/from and also for training. But don't let that put you off as night-time brings peace and quiet. There is a bus service terminus at the site that takes you to Windsor on a Saturday taking about 1 hour. Bus passes for senior citizens are accepted. Other bus services are available but we didn't use them, the Warndon would however give you that information. All pitches are level with no chocks needed. Some road corners are quite sharp and keeping off the grass needs a little skill and care. Try not to use the lanes in the area as they are quite narrow and the locals drive at quite a speed.....my experience. The wardens were great with a very warm welcome on arrival and all facilities clean and well maintained.

Served a purpose

I needed to go into London for personal reasons and decided to go down in the motorhome and stay on a convenient site. Wyatts Covert seemed to fit the bill. The site itself is not exactly a relaxing site IMHO, as it's next to a busy airfield, with quite a few aircraft and helicopters taking off and landing. However, that didn't bother us, s we're both quite interested in aircraft. I had read in the reviews that there were a number of workers on site, who tend to leave quite early, that did bother me somewhat. So on arrival, I mentioned this to the warden, who was very helpful in pointing out where most of them were pitched, and showing me a pitch well away from that area. As a result, we weren't bothered by early leavers, which we appreciated. It took us about 20 minutes to walk into Denham and to get to the station, and from there to Marylebone, where we changed to the underground. Coming back again was very easy. In summary, I don't think this is a site where I'd go to for a relaxing break, but it served the purpose we were there for very well. Usual club standards for toiletblock, and the male warden on arrival was really nice.
