An experiment in motorhome holidaying.

To be honest, this booking was simply an experiment. We decided to rent a motorhome for Silverstone F1 BP next summer and thought we should try out for just a couple of nights before then. So, we needed to find a site we could stay in, as staying just anywhere with no facilities did not appeal at all, especially in the winter which was the only time we could fit this in. So we joined this club, having found a site that was open so close to Christmas, and that wasn't too far to drive. The bonus was being next to a nature reserve. In truth the weather was pretty abysmal, so although we had plans to go for a walk round the reserve, we opted instead to head into Uxbridge and go to the cinema. But the site itself is lovely. Would be much better in the summer obviously. But we arrived quite late, and found the staff very helpful. We did have an issue with our motorhome in that the full tank we had when we left where we rented from, had drained itself once we arrived and turned the water pump on etc. So having no water that night, we took the recommendation from the staff to walk to the local hotel, and enjoyed a lovely meal. We found the campsite facilities to be excellent though, so clean, it was a pleasure to use them. I realise the site was almost empty so there was no real demand for showers/toilets etc, or the washing up area. The staff were also extremely helpful and friendly, and able to answer any questions we had about the site, or local area. If we were to consider another caravanning/motorhome holiday, would definitely think about coming back.

Stayed for two nights for trip to Twickenham

Used this site for a visit to Twickenham to watch England v Japan. The site is clean and tidy. The toilet block is very clean and well looked after also warm and comfortable. It was very quiet onsite even though it is near to a small airfield we did not hear any aircraft noise. There is a hotel about 400m down the road which offers bar meals and a restaurant. The staff onsite were very friendly and helpful. We used a Uber taxi to take us to the match and bring us back which took about 35 minutes and was very convenient. I will use this site again when I next have tickets for Twickenham. Highly recommend.

Pleasant site

We spent 4 nights in June. Easy to find - but do follow the book instructions. We explored the other roads without the van and discovered why the route is as it is! We used this site because it was relatively convenient to get to The National Archives - which was the aim of our visit. The site is clean & well kept, wardens helpful. For us, 4 nights was enough - other than our visit to TNA (which in the end only took a day) we found limited attractions in the immediate area. We know Marlow & Beaconsfield. It is a good site - depending on what you want.

Spotless & friendly site on the edge of London

The first thing to say about this site is to make sure you follow the CMC route instructions and approach via Denham Green Lane. We saw several people coming straight up Tilehurst Lane, presumably following their SatNav systems, and this road is really too narrow. The site is situated next to a park home development and next to Denham Aerodrome. You need to be aware of this as the helicopters in particular fly constantly from about 09h00 until darkness. There are light aircraft and a few small jets too. So do not go there if you want a quiet place where you can sleep late. If you want a site with friendly wardens, immaculately kept and within easy reach of the surrounding Buckinghamshire countryside and London, then this is a great place to go. Most of the pitches are not suitable for awnings, so do ensure you book the correct one for your outfit. A trip into the nearby village of Denham is a must. It is amazing how familiar it will seem because you will have seen it on many TV series. The Green Man is a lovely pub for a simple meal. The Thai Chicken salad is great. If you want to go to The Swan you really must book, even midweek we could not get in. Going into London is easy. The Underground ends at Uxbridge, which is only a couple of miles away. A bus goes to there from the site, necessary as the station is in a pedestrian zone. If you want to take a car and park then Ickenham or Hillingdon are better. I have been to this site twice and really like its size and location. I would definitely go again.

Wonderful Site

Just returned home from our third stay at Wyatt's Covert Club Site. The site is a wonderful oasis of calm with nearby direct rail links to London Marylebone and Wembley Stadium. The Wardens are extremely friendly and helpful and keep the site absolutely spotless. There is some lovely cycling in the surrounding area with good pubs and great food available in nearby Denham village. We cannot recommend this site highly enough.

Enjoyable weeks stay

Weeks stay in August and was very happy with the site. The wardens were brilliant and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The site was very clean. The location is ideal as it is just off the motorway. Only downside is that nextdoor to the site is a light aircraft field which at times was quite noisy but it didnt affect our stay at all. We had a lovely time.

Brilliant place to use to see the sites to the west of London

My wife and I have just spent 3 nights at Wyatts Covert and we found it a well maintained site without some of the frills. The location just off the M40 could not be better as we came down from the Midlands and did not have to worry about using the M25 or going further into London. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful and there were all the amenities we were looking for. There was not a play area or large areas of grass land for children to play on, but within a few minutes walk of the site there was a large woodland area with plenty of pathways. Being so close to the M40/M25 meant there was speedy access (that is taking into account how fast speedy is on the M25), to many attractions such as Windsor and Richmond. There is also train connection from Denham into London which is about a 20 minute train ride. If you do want peace and quiet, then please find somewhere else. As many other reviewers have mentioned, there is a small airfield next door with light aircraft and helicopters going back and forth from about 7am until about 7-8pm. As long as you are aware of the likelihood of noise then there are no other things to worry about. We were scheduled to stay 4 nights, but the weather has beaten us. I know we should be thankful for sunny days, but the extreme hot weather we have faced over the last few weeks has paid its toll. There are no real areas of shade on the site, so sitting out in the evening was not too pleasant.... There may be many sun worshippers who have really enjoyed the hot days and for those people I expect Wyatts Covert was perfect. Alas for my wife and I, we enjoy cooler weather, so no shade made it impossible to stay the 4th night. Apart from the weather, we would happily stay at Wyatts Covert again.

Two night stay at Wyatt's Covert

What a lovely site. Friendly welcome despite arriving after 6pm. Wardens must hate having to come out at that time after a hard day's work. We had a lovely pitch with some grass for our dog and some shade in the hot weather. Facilities great as always on CAMC sites. Some helicopter noise but it is mentioned on other reviews so expected. Ideal site for us just off the M40 and near family which was the purpose of the visit. We look forward to returning.

Small But Nice

The site is small and friendly and generally very pleasant with facilities of the usual Club standard. Some previous reviews have mentioned the nearby airfield. So, planes and helicopters make some noise but it wasn't unreasonable and wasn't an issue. The local bus service was good, actually coming into the site entrance, and the short trip to Uxbridge and then the Piccadilly and District lines brought Central London conveniently close. Also, the Grand Union Canal was a short walk away from the site. Overall, an excellent site and an enjoyable stay. .

Not so friendly staff

Nice site, been here before and there was a very friendly gentleman to greet you.He may be on holiday or something because this time it was not such a good welcome.Although an attempt of friendliness was made I felt the couple were too stern and indeed when I returned to the Motorhome to drive through the man came out to instruct that I have to keep to the van over to the peg I said 'that's fine' he's reply was 'I know it's fine'.I mean who says that?Very strange encounter.Perhaps not the best job for you fella.
