Weekend away at LEGOLAND

We booked up for LEGOLAND as a last minute birthday surprise for our son, the site is located about half hour away from there. On arrival the staff were very warm and welcoming, and even helped with a problem we had with our van, as well as helping to locate a local restaurant. We found it easy to get to and the kids loved the aircraft coming and going. The site was very well looked after and could not have wanted more for just a quick weekend away. We will definitely be looking to come back to visit the surrounding areas again.

Lovely five day break in the London area.

We have visited this site before and find it extremely convenient for travel into London.£4-50 for a day parking at the station and less than £15-00 return for the two of us with railcard .Whats not to like! The site is beautifully maintained and the facilities spotless, although the block could have been warmer and we could certainly lose the piped music. The wardens are super, very friendly and helpful. We tour with a 55 year old Caravan and this is always a talking point with wardens. The wardens very kindly held a parcel at reception for one of our club members to collect on the Sunday afternoon as we were at a gig in Putney. Certainly there is aircraft noise during the day but if ,like us ,you are away in the daytime its not a problem. Perhaps not a site for members who just want to stay around the site and read or doze! Overall a great stay and we would certainly recommend and return.

Nice Site but only for a short stay

Lovely site but pitches allocated on arrival but when we asked for a different pitch there was no problem. There had been a number of bike thefts so lockers are available to store you bikes in, however it is not easy to get you bike in and out of the locker. Although we were going to stay for a number of nights we decided to move on. Although the floors were mopped in some areas the toilets were not cleaned. Uxbridge and the surrounding area is not relaxing but ideal if you want to visit central London. The relief wardens were very nice but I don’t think we will return 👎

Great site for a short stay

Wyatts Covert is a compact and very tidy site, reasonably accessible from the M40 and M25. We used it to break our journey from Somerset to North Hertfordshire, which worked well. Warden's friendly and helpful. The toilet block in particular was exceptionally well appointed. Good information prominently posted for trips into London.

First C&MHC site

We are new to caravanning and to the Caravan & Motorhome Club and stopped here for 2 nights en route to Brighton. We were right to follow the direction from the website rather than the sat nav. Ian and Pat were very helpful, especially understanding we were newbies and suggesting the best pitch to reverse our caravan into. It was alongside the road and there was slight noise from infrequent traffic & the adjacent aerodrome but it didn't put us off. The facilities were exceptionally clean. We shopped at Tesco in Gerrards Cross and also at the Co-op in Denham Green itself. We parked in Uxbridge and travelled by tube into London. There was a car park on a roundabout entering Uxbridge advertised at £6 a day but because it was Sunday it was only £4. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the station. There is not much for teenagers but they were happy to be on their gadgets all the time. We were impressed to see the grass being cut with a grass box on the lawn mower. So many campsites leave the cuttings which get trodden into the units and facilities.

Stopover visit

We used this site to visit family nearby on our way home from holiday abroad. The access to the site is via a narrow lane with no signs to direct you to the site until you arrive, this can cause problems as the road is very narrow. There is noise from the airfield nearb. The wardens were friendly and helpful although there are very few pitches to have an awning. Facilities were clean. Handy site to get to London via train.

Perhaps not for families, but a great site

Very friendly warden. Quiet site, peaceful and welcoming. It felt like I was far from everything but that is probably because I should have read the warning: 'Please only use these recommended directions for the final approach and not SatNav, due to unsuitable roads for towing.' The SatNav route is narrow and would be difficult if another motorhome or caravan was on it.

Very good location for catching a train to Central London, just over a mile to walk to the station.

Great location. Within short driving to RHS Wisley and Battle of Britain bunker. There is noise during the day of helicopters landing and taking off from Denham airfield. The noise stops in the evening. The wardens who were on had less than a week before retiring but were very helpful in any queries. The site is just outside the emission zone so be careful when driving to the Battle of Britain bunker as that is just outside as well. My car is over ten years old and it would cost me £12.50 a trip. Well kept site.

Good Welcome

Wardens friendly on arrival and pointed out pitches free so we could drive around. The site is small and has grass between pitches. Given this it would be good if you are allowed to sit your motorhome on it the best way for your unit. We have offside door but do not want to face a hedge. Not the wardens fault but common sense could prevail. Facilities very clean but could do with updating in the showers as quite cramped. Site pleasant enough and will use again if visiting London.

An honest review of Wyatts Covert

My wife and I had a 5 night stay in this site and overall had a relaxing stay. The access road to the site is quite narrow in places after you have left the main road and should you meet an outfit leaving the site it could be difficult to pass therefore it is not a good idea to arrive any earlier than 12. The wardens were very friendly and clearly work hard to maintain high standards of cleanliness. With reference to previous reviews of the noise issues you are next to a small airfield and there is no getting away from the fact that light aircraft and helicopters fly over the site frequently from 8am onwards (we were woken at 4.30am one morning to the sound of a helicopter warming up and then taking off but this was a one off). We weren't overly impressed by the surrounding area which was a bit grey but we did enjoy taking the dog for a walk in Denham Country Park and along the Grand Union canal. Would we return - yes and the site was certainly not a car park as has been stated in previous reviews. Top tip avoid the M25 at all costs!!
