A lovely site ideal for a quiet, relaxing break.

My wife and I stayed at Wirral Country Park 6 - 11 Sep 2020. Not our first stay on the site, but the first one during the days of Covid 19 period. We were given a friendly and warm welcome at Reception and patiently and clearly given our "safety briefing" together with our wristbands essential as a clearly visible sign one was in the shower block (leaving the wristband on a hook outside the entrance - only 2 persons allowed in at any time. This system is simple and worked very well). Payment was made and we were soon parked up on our chosen hardstanding pitch, with ample room for our car, 'van and awning, cycles unpacked and readied for use on the excellent Wirral Country trail cycle / footpath accessible right outside the site entrance. The Site Wardens have obviously worked very hard to have the site ready for use by members and families and they have done a first class job. Safety signs clearly remind us of procedures to adopt to keep us all safe, but are in no way obtrusive - just a necessity these days. The fish and chip wagon was a popular visitor on Tuesday evening and provided a tasty and well cooked meal. Without doubt, we had a great stay, feeling we were safe and well looked after by the site staff who worked tirelessly throughout the day and evening, including 3 sessions of cleaning the facilities block each day. Many thanks to them and the Club for another great holiday. - We will return!!

Lovely stay at Wirral Country Park

Just returned from 6 nights at Wirral Country Park site. Last time I was here as an 7-year old with my family - members of the Caravan Club then too! This time with my own family, including daughters aged 12 and 7. The site was well cared for and facilities clean. The band system for using the toilet block and showers worked well. The wardens were really helpful when we came to leave, as Storm Ellen had visited during our stay and we were by then on a wet grass pitch. One of the wardens helped us position our van so that we can leave the pitch by the driest route. Fantastic ice cream shop just a few 100 metres from the site entrance, 5 min walk to the beach, plus the Wirral Way right outside the site which is great for cycling even with younger children as it is so level and is off-road. Also enjoyed watching the windsurfers on West Kirby Marine Lake, making the most of the wind from Storm Ellen.

A Liitle Gem

First time we've visited this site but will definitely be back. Spent 6 nights from 9th August, the staff were fabulous, friendly and very particular about the cleaning routines for the new arrangements and times we are living in. The facilities are a bit limited and a bit old fashioned but very clean with several cleans per day. Due to the restricted number of facilities has very snug we used our own on board facilities. This is such a lovely site and appears popular it would be nice if the CAMC could provide a new facilities block with more showers / toilets and better spacing.

Lovely quiet and clean site

We stayed here last weekend, we were a family of 2 motorhomes with 4 adults, a 14 year old and 3 dogs. We couldn't fault it the staff were friendly and welcoming, the grounds kept very clean and tidy, facilities were good. Sort walk to the beach (it is more mud than sand but still a lovely stroll). We would definately visit this site again it was very quiet and relaxing. Thanks to all the staff.

This is our third visit to the site. I was reminded again on this visit why we love this site. It is well located with lovely views over the Dee Estaury. We enjoyed walks along the Wirral way at the side of the site to Caldy Bay and West Kirby. Can strongly recommend Tanskeys in West Kirby for food in West Kirby, but it is essential to book a table. Also managed to walk across the beach to the tidal island at Hilbre. The restrictions for Covid 19 worked very well all credit to the wardens. We most certainly will be back.

Great site, even for large RV

Having a large RV, 40ft/12m, we called by last year to check out availability for large rigs. The wardens marked on the site plan suitable pitches. When we booked with the site, the wardens were great and said they would endeavour to keep our preferred site. On arrival, they were all you could wish, having saved our first preference and helping us into the location. The site is in a great location on top of the cliffs with views over the river Dee towards Wales. TV reception is great, pitches more than adequate and the facilities first class. We were by the children's play area, great for our visitors! What was interesting and something many don't think about, was the safety inspection of all aspects of the children's play area, very thorough!! The stewards were friendly but discrete and made our visit great. Thank you all.

First motorhome adventure!

We are new to motor homing so wanted somewhere local to us to try out our new laika ecovip motorhome. Got there ok. Super little site which is just what we wanted. There were a couple of hiccups as being newbies we had no idea we would need our own hosepipe in which to fill the water tank. We tried with a borrowed watering can and several empty water bottles but lets face it, thats not going to work! Added a hose pipe into my amazon basket as soon as I could. The facilities were clean and well kept. Great for walking, we have two Labradors and they loved the estuary and wallowing in mud ( I didn't !) still there was a dog washing area which came in extremely handy. All in all a great first visit. I guess you pick up tips everywhere you go and I am looking forward to my motor homing adventure. People super friendly too :)

Amazing sunsets

Stayed here last week for the first time and will certainly be back. Had Pitch 11 where we overlooked a grass area frequented by rabbits and further on over the estuary. Lots of information on walks, eateries displayed in the hut by reception. Situated on the Wirral Way there are plenty of walks and cycling to be done and also a 5 min walk to the beach. The sunsets are amazing and it seems everyone comes out to take photos! Staff very friendly, great cafe 10 min walk serves lovely cake and ice creams as well as sandwiches and toastier. Loo block could do with a few more showers and an update but other than that a lovely site.
