What a Great site

We always start our season here. This year we also finished here.We ALWAYS get good weather! There are not really any downsides to this site. The first one is rather disconcerting as the cliff is crumbling in the middle of the site. The fence opposite the pitches by the cliff used to be forty feet from the road and now its only ten feet.Apparently the problem is not erosion from the tide or the sea,but from the softness of the soil and rain making it unstable. The cliffs on either side by the static site and towards the Yacht club all have foliage on them that must be stabilising the cliff face. I dont know if the club has any ideas about stopping this. This time we were pitched up the cul de sac at the far reach of th site. But to get to the toilet block we have to walk down towards the shore and then come back up. There are paths through the woods coming out opposite the playground, but these have been allowed to be reclaimed by nature and are pretty much impassable with stinging nettles. On the cul de sac side there is a wide grassy verge which would be good for a path through the woods, but the other side would be between two pitches. So maybe a fenced path could be created inbetween the pitches? Recently we have stayed at Moreton in Marsh site and visited Broadway site. Both of these sites clean the toilet block in the afternoon which is a lot more convenient for customers. But maybe this can only be done on larger sites where there are multiple pairs of Wardens. But on reflection, nothing will put us off going to this site-its ammaculate! And the Wirral has so much to offer.

Well worth a visit

We have just stayed for two nights recently, we live on the Wirral not far from the site. We try to have mini breaks here when we can , we even come for a drive just to go the local dog friendly cafe and enjoy the walks and views. The site pitches are very good especially if you pick one with the views over the Dee estuary looking towards Wales. The toilet block and showers are very clean but there is need for some updating. Plenty to do on the Wirral, Chester and Liverpool best to park and ride we do. Wardens are very friendly and helpful, hopefully we will stay again very soon.We are lucky to have this little gem of a site so near to home.

Lovely little site with friendly wardens

We’ve just returned from this lovely little site in a great location. To begin we had one of the nicest welcomes we’ve ever received on a club site. The warden who booked us in gave us information & marked on the site map all the pitches that were left, allowing us to home in the ones we fancied. He was friendly, efficient & professional. No warnings of having to move your outfit if you didn’t pitch correctly. Lovely! Good sized pitches, with plenty of grass. Loo block seemed a little tired, but was very clean. We enjoyed several walks near the site, using the Wirral way - along the old railway line. We had a delightful walk along this to West Kirby & returned along the beach. Had a day in Liverpool using the train, free parking at Hoylake & very cheap parking at other stations. Had a day in Chester, again using the train after parking at £1 a day parking at Hooton. A 40 minute drive takes you to the famous aqueduct at Pontcysyllte in Wales. A lovely holiday & we will definitely return.

Back again.....

I think this is the 6th time in 3 years that I have stayed at this site. I like the large grassed pitches at the far end, great view if you’re lucky enough to get one of the sea view pitches. Always a friendly welcome from the wardens, who suggested some pitches that were suitable for my 8.4m motorhome. The location of the site, right next to the Wirral Way, is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. So lovely to cycle along to West Kirby or further to New Brighton, or the other way to Neston and further afield.

First Visit

This was our first visit and from a recommendation from friends and it met every expectation. Warm welcome from the Wardens who advised of pitches still available which made it easy to get up and running quickly and the site is extremely clean and tidy. I would suggest more showers however to avoid the queues in a morning but apart from that a thoroughly enjoyable place. Great walk to the beach or Wirral Way or get out in the car to sight see and will be a place to definitely revisit.

Maiden Visit

This was our first visit to this site. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome by the wardens and recommended some nice pitches for our caravan. The shower block was clean but could do with updating and extending. Good location for using public transport for Liverpool; and access to a small beach. Hope to return to this site in the future.

Lovely well maintained site

Lovely 4 night break, just as good as our last visit. Wardens keep the site immaculate with wonderful flower containers at the entrance. Very peaceful site but would definitely benefit from an additional shower/toilet block as its quite a hike if you pitch at the far end of the site and the site only has one chemical toilet emptying point which created a queue most morning's. Despite previews reviews we didn't think the existing facilities were outdated at all. Perfect location for visiting the many attractions nearby and fantastic walks right from the site. We will return.

WE have come here 7 times now to give this site a title ( total Bliss)

Seventh visit in 8 years speaks for itself, fantastic wardens who put a lot of work into making this site beautiful, plenty to do here, Take a picnic and flask of coffee, get the ferry 10 20 from seacombe to Liverpool and you can spend all day at pier head and still not see it all ,don't forget Chester Zoo another full day out, ellesmere Port and the boat museum and many more things are other options ENJOY. "Recommend seacombe ferry terminal for easy plenty of room free parking"

Great site.

Stayed a couple of nights on this lovely site - will be longer next time. Tranquil peaceful site with good walks. Our pitch had a great view over the estuary which is a bonus. Facilities were good and nice and clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Will be going back for longer very soon.

Red Hot Stay

My Wife and I had our first visit to this site in June. We spent to nights which unfortunately was not enough. Tried to book I extra night but was all booked up. Had we known how nice a place it was would have booked more nights in the first place, however we will be going back. The pitch we managed to get was ideal overlooking the Dee Estuary perfect. the weather on our visit was spot on , that with our surroundings could not have been better. The shower/toilet block was fine however I agree with previous comments that an upgrade would vastly improve it, that said the staff keep them to a good standard and they are kept clean and tidy well done. As we only had 2 days we were unable to get around to see all that the area had to offer hence the reason we will be going back. The local walks we did were great and the wild life we encountered was magical. All in all a great place to visit look forward to going again in the near future.
