Stayed here for 1st time for 4 nights last week. Site was very busy and on arrival the heavens opened - torrential rain/hailstone! Because of that, instead of driving round, we parked up on one if the 1st pitches we saw, near to toilet block. Mistake!! Why do people think its ok to walk across other pitches no matter whether yr sat outside, caravan doors open or the dogs oitside? Rude!! There was the usual confusion over the "band" system at the shower block. Its easy - if theres a band in the solution take one and hang it up.When you come out return it to the solution. Very dated block and sometimes very "untidy", obviously through no fault of the wardens.
On a plus note the pitches were great and if you are lucky enough to get one of the 3 pitches with unrestricted views across the estuary even better. The site overall was very clean. Good walks and easy to get to Liverpool and Cheshire Oaks if you like designer bargains! Wardens were to be seen regularly around the site and were always friendly and sociable. Would probably visit again but would avoid pitch 73
First time at Wirral
Lovely site, cracking location ideal for cycling around the Wirral.
Our only issue was the Wardens on arrival and departure.
On arrival we found a lengthy queue to book in and the process seemed to be taking an extraordinary length of time. When it was our turn we found the answer ! Along with the usual rules and regulations speech the Warden proceeded to ask for our details to fill in the Covid tracking form. On every other site we have taken the form with us and scanned it or filled in the details and returned it when notifying the Warden of our pitch. Unfortunately this chap told me " people cannot be trusted to return the form" A very nice welcome, maybe his time would have been better spent monitoring the queue of customers blocking the outside road.
On departure my wife was unsure on how to work the exit barrier, and was met with Mr Angry shouting " point it at the barrier, point it at the barrier"
I would suggest both these Wardens are given a quick reminder on how to treat and talk to people.
Regardless of who you are you should not be spoken to in this manner.
Disappointing!!

Excellent site with great views
Lovely open site with great views across the River Dee to Wales. The site has access to lots of walks and is on the Wirral way not too far from West Kirby. Nice level pitches kept immaculate by the wardens. The whole site is clean and tidy and we would definitely recommend a stay here. The Wardens were, as ever, helpful and friendly.
Perfect for what we wanted
Having tried many times to get a booking on this site we finally made it. It was everything we had hoped for and more.
We were pitched on grass at the far end of the site, so a bit of a walk to the facilities block. There can be a bit of noise at times from the beach and cliff top, that is the other side of the boundary fence at this part of the site. Its mainly music but it only seems to be on the very hot sunny days and evenings.
The site is very well placed for the Wirral Way as its right outside the site gates great for walking or cycling.
Plenty of things to do on the Wirral and close by. We would definitely go again.
Outstanding 5 star site - first visit won’t be our last
We booked this site at the last minute and stayed Fri & Saturday 25th & 26th June - although it was only a short break it felt like we had had a weeks holiday as loved it so much.
We had pitch 60 which was perfectly positioned for our granddaughter to enjoy the park independently whilst we could watch her and enjoy the lovely weather.
The Wirral Way is a great traffic free cycle or walking route - we rode to Parkgate and enjoyed ice creams. The beach is a few minutes walk from the site and is great. Views over the Dee Estuary are fabulous.
We will definitely be returning to this site - thank you Val & Harry for the lovely warm welcome and allowing us to stay on the pitch for an extra 2 hours on our departure day - it really made a huge difference to us.
Will be looking at booking a pitch when the British Open Golf returns to Hoylake in 2023 but will be back before.
Another Great Stay on the Wirral
This is one of our favourite sites and returned after a few years away. Nothing has really changed except it's perhaps even cleaner than it used to be. Most of the pitches are very quiet and peaceful, great walks from the site, lots of dog friendly beaches and just a short trip to Liverpool - a very friendly vibrant city.
The wardens were super friendly and helpful and maintained the site to a very high standard. We went during the school holidays which is something we normally avoid as we are currently looking after our grand daughter and although the site was busy with children I have to say the vast majority were fantastic and well behaved.
As always there were a small minority of members that seem intent on doing what they want to do without consideration for the majority - be it mask wearing (or not), getting friends on site, late/early music or exercising their dog around the site. However, there weren't many and I'm not blaming "newbies" as we all were once.
Didn't try the chip van but did have a trip to Parkgate, the first time we've been there and found a cracking Fish and Chip shop and a great Ice Cream parlour. Well worth a visit, as is the Vale Park fairy garden for girls of a certain age - and older grand parents.
A lovely site
Though we have camped in a tent for over 40 years, this was our first foray as motorhome owners, and it was great. The site is lovely, peaceful and quiet (at least mid week it was). But more especially, the staff were fabulous; very welcoming and helpful to us newbies. The pitches are spacious, with some having great views over the Dee; the facilities are clean and well maintained, as are the grounds. There is a small shop at reception for essentials, including fresh milk, and a few luxuries (chocolates etc). There are great walks nearby and within (a longish) walking distance there is a coffee shop and a lovely restaurant. Another longish walk along the Wirral way takes you to West Kirby where you will find a range of shops, restaurants etc. We will definitely be visiting here regularly.
Wonderful Wirral
I have just returned from a 6 day visit to the Wirral Club Site. The site staff are most helpful and are working tirelessly to keep the site Covid safe. I am very unsure what "packed in like sardines" means. The site has very spacious pitches, some of the largest I have come across. With regards to sea views the site information says that some pitches overlook the Estuary and I can confirm that it can be seen from more than half of them. There are wonderful opportunities for walking or cycling along adjacent, flat, traffic free paths which start at the site entrance. A visit along the footpath to the nearby Visitor Centre is worthwhile and gives access to the beach and only takes about 10 minutes.
Wirral Country Park
Site is great, we stayed on a grass pitch no33 but realised not a good pitch soon. On the edge of the park and also near a clearing on the cliff, we had a group of people drinking and swearing all afternoon, they left much to my relief but later in the evening we landed a large group of people drinking and partying on the public side of the boundary, much played well into the early morning and felt that people on the site thought it was ourselves. Would stay at the camp again but stay way from the boundaries.
Good base for exploring the Wirral Peninsula
This site makes an excellent base for exploring the area on foot or bike, or for simply relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Access is straightforward, the final approach is a bit narrow and can become blocked if too many units arrive at the same time. The earliest arrival time is now stated as being 1300, but we witnessed several units arriving early and being allowed on site before this. Some members, it appears feel the rules don’t apply to them and the Clubs’ attitude to arrival times is inconsistent, some sites allowing early arrivals onto site and others making them wait. This is something the Club needs to get a grip on and sort out in fairness to members who do make an effort not to arrive early.
The site itself is well laid out with a variety of level pitches on offer. Some are in secluded and well sheltered cul de sacs and there are a few with magnificent views over the Dee Estuary. The latter are quite exposed and are prone to being battered by strong winds. Unfortunately you cannot have views and shelter in this part of the country and is a choice for individuals to make. There is a single toilet block, which we did not use due to covid restrictions despite it being open.
Wildlife abounds on and around the site. We were entertained by a squirrel on the bird feeder throwing seed down to the rabbit underneath, much to the amusement of our dog.
The Wirral Way cycle track is directly outside the site, from where you can walk for miles either towards West Kirby or through the country park to Gayton Sands Nature Reserve and beyond. The Dungeon, past Thurston Church and back via the country park makes a pleasant circular walk and Hilbre Island is well worth walking to at low tide.
