August 2015

Stayed 3 nights last week. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Beautiful location with great walks along estuary. Beach 5 minutes away. Nice walk along coast on Wirral Way to West Kirby, slow paced one hour.  Close to Liverpool  and other local attractions. Some complain about the facilities. Yes the toilet block is on the smaller side and not as modern as some sites, but hey it's spotlessly clean and provides everything you'll need. Certainly plan to return.

Great for dogs owners and location to Liverpool

Well located for a visit into Liverpool. Cars / Motorhomes just travel to hoylake park and ride about 3 miles from the site.  Trains run every 20 minutes and are always on time.  £4.20 return per adult into Liverpool free parking.  Site has excellent wardens. Dog walks are opposite the site entrance which are clearly signposted.  They can take you towards the river dee and are safe to walk dogs off lead as there is no traffic just the occasional horse to be wary of. Spent 3 nights there last week.

Nice, Quiet Site

Spent 4 nights here while visiting relatives in the area. It is a pleasant, quiet site with excellent views of the estuary and plenty of places to walk the dog, mainly along the Wirral Way. The staff were pleasant and very helpfully. Overall a well run site.

Pleasant Stay

This was our first visit to Wirral CP and we will be back.  The site has good facilities and is well laid out.  In hindsight we should have opted to go onto the pitches further from the children's play area as we were fairly close to this and with school holidays made it quite noisy.  However, this wasn't a problem for a short stop. The Assistant Wardens Tracey and Keith were really helpful when we had some queries and went out of their way.   The sites facilities were well maintained and the grounds are well laid out.  The reception area was great with loads of planting and pots to make a great show of colour. The shop and information areas were well stocked with provisions and the cream teas seem very popular! The site is in a great location for the beach and walking and made for a relaxing 2 night stop.

Great Stay

Stayed for 2 weeks end July, beginning of August. Location is fantastic - right alongside the Wirral Way, a former railway line stretching for miles in both directions which is great for walking, cycling as no traffic.  Great site for kids and dogs as can access beach within 5 minutes on foot.  Very convenient for Liverpool, which is well worth a visit. West Kirby is a lovely little town with all facilities and within a 3 mile walk on the Wirral Way. Site itself is a gem, very quiet area with some pitches overlooking the Dee estuary.  We stayed on grass at the bottom of the site which was really peaceful.  Wardens were excellent - very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.  Shower block is a little dated but perfectly adequate and really clean. We had a great holiday and will definately return in the future.

A weeks stay

My wife and two of our grandchildren spent a week at the site. They had a wonderful week, the location was great, plenty of walking, good location with the playground so she could keep an eye on them. The site management was great, with activities for the children included. Toilet and shower facilities very clean and well maintained. Very good experience. My only negative would be that all the pitches I saw were hardcore which for a week is not a problem as we only ever put up the small awning. For a longer stay we would put up the full awning which would be a problem for pegging down in hardcore. Neverthless, complements to the site management!

Great for kids

This site is down a long road with easy access as long as we all stick to the 12.00 rule. The site itself is well kept by the wardens who are diligent in their work. The facilities are kept clean  and are lovely and warm first thing in the morning. The wardens office sells things like milk and bread and you can order papers if required. The children's area is set by the shower block which is very convenient if you have your grandchildren with you as we did. The kids loved it as it gave them a bit of freedom but we could keep our eye on them. There is a lane just outside the camp called the Wirral Way. It is great for walking or biking and you can go for a couple of miles ( or more if your fit enough) in either direction without any traffic. The hard stands are adequate and there are the usual caravan club water/waste facilities. I would recommend this site as we have enjoyed many a good holiday here.  Ps there is a social club just down the road which is open to caravan club members. The drink is cheaper than any of the pubs and we have always had a nice welcome from the static caravanners who run the club.

lovely site but!

Lovely site. Cannot fault the ease of access to the areas diverse activities. The information area on site cannot be faulted. The "but" is a request to the caravan club. Is there a plan for the shower blocks to be re vamped?
