My wife and two of our grandchildren spent a week at the site. They had a wonderful week, the location was great, plenty of walking, good location with the playground so she could keep an eye on them. The site management was great, with activities for the children included. Toilet and shower facilities very clean and well maintained. Very good experience. My only negative would be that all the pitches I saw were hardcore which for a week is not a problem as we only ever put up the small awning. For a longer stay we would put up the full awning which would be a problem for pegging down in hardcore. Neverthless, complements to the site management!
Not happy
We used this site in July the wardens told us when we got their they was full up & they was 1 pitch left so we put our van got set up then went for a walk round the site then seen 3/4 pitch that we could have gone no body on them think we got the new wardens was their for 5 days not happy would not use this site again
Great for kids
This site is down a long road with easy access as long as we all stick to the 12.00 rule. The site itself is well kept by the wardens who are diligent in their work. The facilities are kept clean and are lovely and warm first thing in the morning. The wardens office sells things like milk and bread and you can order papers if required. The children's area is set by the shower block which is very convenient if you have your grandchildren with you as we did. The kids loved it as it gave them a bit of freedom but we could keep our eye on them. There is a lane just outside the camp called the Wirral Way. It is great for walking or biking and you can go for a couple of miles ( or more if your fit enough) in either direction without any traffic. The hard stands are adequate and there are the usual caravan club water/waste facilities. I would recommend this site as we have enjoyed many a good holiday here.
Ps there is a social club just down the road which is open to caravan club members. The drink is cheaper than any of the pubs and we have always had a nice welcome from the static caravanners who run the club.
lovely site but!
Lovely site. Cannot fault the ease of access to the areas diverse activities. The information area on site cannot be faulted. The "but" is a request to the caravan club. Is there a plan for the shower blocks to be re vamped?

Excellent for Liverpool and more
Stayed here due to its locality to Liverpool but so much more to do. Wirral itself is beautiful and site is on Dee estuary. Cycle path on old railway line adjacent and you can cycle on flat, safe, traffic free paths around a lot of the Wirral. Hoylake, 4 miles away offers an excellent park and ride by train for £4.80 each. Site is clean and child friendly although don't park up by the adventure playground if you dislike the noise of children playing. Friendly office that orders papers for you every day. Aldi, M and S and Tesco 2 miles away. Worth visiting Port Sunlight and Designer outlet village at Chester. Was amazed how much there is to do in the area and feel 6 days was not enough.
Fabulous week despite the weather.
A rough week weather wise, could not spoil what is a gem of a site, nestled at the end of a lane. The Assistant wardens, Tracy and Keith warrant a special mention, they greeted us and saw us away, and were exceptionally approachable, friendly, professional and helpful all holiday; very hands-on in their role of managing the day to day running of the site. Whilst a few children created some noise, I do know that positive action was taken once the wardens were aware of any issue. The site is wonderful, kept immaculate by the Warden team, litter-free, clean and well manicured. The shower block/lavatories were excellent, considering how busy they were. Another worthy mention is the Thursday visit of the mobile chip shop, great service and good quality too. I will be returning again as soon as there is room for my family to visit. A big thank you to all at the site.
Busy weekend at the Wirral
Just returned from The Wirral on a busy week end.Yes it was bedlam in the area around the playground, but children's behavior is the sole responsibility of their parents. Its 10 years since we've been to this site and we will return later in the year. An extra water and toilet disposal point is needed at the top end of the site.
Great site but wow kids can make some noise
OK we (me, wife and 2 year old son) stopped for a mere two nights as i was competing in the Liverpool triathlon on the sunday morning.
We arrived and the staff were great we wanted somewhere near the toilet block so the first pitch we came to we went on it. Right opposite the play area (most pitches are) we set up and everything was fine and dandy.
My little lad wanted to go on the play area, there was maybe 20 kids aged 10-16 on it water pistols aplenty all the equipment soaked my son wouldn't go on anything. So he went to play in the little house next thing one of the bigger is jumping on the roof obviously i said to get down and was basically ignored.
As the night progressed the behavior of the kids got worse. They were cutting to the pitches behind past our van so close they were banging on it as they walked past which is no good when your son is trying to get to sleep at 9pm. The noise continued till 10pm so where were these kids parents? why were they letting them act like this? do they not have any respect for other people who use the caravan sites? also why did the wardens not come and say anything?
Apart from the kids the site was a good well kept site right on 'wirral way' which i had a short run down seemed great for family bike rides etc.
I do hope the staff don't take this review personally as they were very friendly and kept the site in great condition hence the star rating i have given.
Cycle the Wirral Way
If staying at this great site remember your bike. I would agree with other comments regarding the showers, they are a little tired and a bit on the cramped side but still spotlessly clean which to me is most important. New hard standing pitches are out of the way and very quite. Good site for dogs as you can walk them on the Wirral Way. Wardens as ever very helpful. Look forward to my next visit

First class - but...
Absolutely super site with lots to do in the immediate area and also within a short drive. Pleasant wardens and very difficult to fault - with the exception of the showers. I wonder if the people who built them ever tried to get undressed/dried/dressed in them. Compared to other CC sites, these are surely in need of a makeover.
Apart from that - a first class site.
