Enjoyable

Arrived at Wirral CC on a fine September Friday, found a pitch with little bother, all estuary view pitches already allocated, not deterred found a suitable pitch, fantastic dog walks, on the beach also along the disused railway line which now forms part of the country park, Wardens very friendly, toilet block clean and tidy. Looking forward to our next stay.

Good site, lovely location

Stayed here for 5 nights and it was our first visit. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. We were not lucky enough to get a pitch with view of estuary but that didn't matter. We enjoyed many walks in the area, along the beach, cliff top, in the park and on the Wirral way. You are spoilt for choice. The dogs loved it. There is a great café on the road before the site on the edge of the park which did lovely cream scones! Very handy for Chester and Liverpool.  Nearby Heswall and West Kirby have a good selection of shops. All in all we enjoyed our stsy and will be back.

Usual high CC standard

Great location, lovely views and very helpful wardens as we've come to expect from the Caravan Club. The road leading to the site entrance has some vicious speed bumps (nothing to do with the CC), but once you're on site, this inconvenience is quickly forgotten. One point I might mention is that when you've positioned a motorhome over the grey water disposal point, it isn't as easy as it might be to remove the cover. It would ideally have the handles fitted so that you don't have to reach under the vehicle to lift it off. But that's a minor niggle in an otherwise great site.

good location

as everbody says , great location, easy, flat walks, just outside the gates or a short stroll to the beach near the sailing club and steps to exit at either the Studio cottage or further down and back along the cliff top, easy access to Liverpool by park and ride £4.20 each cheap day return, plus small charge for parking, Pitched under the trees and due to birds eating the local berries , had to clean purple poo off the awning when leaving, weather was good to us,all in all recommended

Lovely Site

We arrived in August what a lovely location for visiting the Wirral and cycling on the special routes which are signposted well. Maps are available at the information shed on the site and the visitors centre. We visited the Dungeon along past the centre which our boys thought was a real adventure lots of fun for climbing. Not far to see the estuary near the yacht club with amazing views and sunsets.

Joyous Return

Another wonderful week spent on this superb site. Thanks to the wardens for looking after us and the site so well. Keep up the good work. We intend to return next spring.

Lively Liverpool

The Wirral country park site is easy to access and sits on a lovely estuary giving lovely views across the water if you are lucky enough to get a pitch on that side of the site. The childrens play area is situated centrally but there are enough pitches away from here for those who like peace and quiet. The site was opened in 1988 and I have to confess that aside from the newest part of the site, the rest needs a bit of tender loving care. Don't mis-understand me it is a lovely site but it could be much better with a little attention to the pitches and grass areas, though to be honest this will not stop us returning. Liverpool itself is a great city, bustling and lively with plenty of places to eat and some really great shops. It has the big advantage of a centrally appointed coach park, 10mins walk from the shops that costs £8.00 for 3 hrs or £15 for an overnight stay. We parked our motorhome here and boy were we glad we did for the day that we visited the city it chucked it down on the way back to the car park and we got so wet we may as well have jumped into the Mersey we were soaked to the skin! No worries though, into the motorhome, curtains closed and change into lovely dry fresh clothes. I have to say at that time we were glad to be motorhomers rather than caravaners. We will definitely return as there is so much of the city left to see that we could not fit in to a long weekend>

Avid caravans from heswall

Site only minutes from home. We use as often as we can, great.went 24/8  to 31/8. Wardens brilliant and always helpful. Toilet block hasn't changed much in15 years needs updating and possibly another block down the far end along with water points of which there are 2 for whole site but that's down to the club not the wardens. Also while I'm on pricing. This is a club run for members(self 20 years on and off)why do they run it like a tour company putting prices up at peak times school holidays etc. The facilities don't change or improve.anybody any answer?

Great site , great location , stunning views

We only live 30 mins away from the site but we love it as it is such a peaceful and stunning location , there are so many places on your doorstep Liverpool and Chester as well as the Heswall and west Kirby within walking or cycling distance on the Wirral way. The site is a combination of grassed and hard standing , there is only one toilet shower block but it's less then a few minutes walk from all areas of the site , always spotless when we have been there . The wardens are lovely and are doing a great job we just wish it wasn't booked up so often !
