Recently had a 5 night break at this well kept site and were pleased we chose it. Ideal for people wanting to visit both Chester and Liverpool or for walking/cycling. We were fortunate to find a pitch with a view over the estuary which was a bonus. The fish and chip van which visits on a Thursday produced excellent fare at a reasonable price, some of the best fish and chips I have had in years! Lots of wildlife to be seen on and around the site particularly fun to watch were the rabbits and squirrels around the caravans.
The one area I have marked down is facilities which, although kept spotlessly clean, are looking a little tired.
One point I would also like to make to the dog owner who thought it was appropriate to bath his dog in one of the washing up sinks is, unless it is a pot dog I don't think so!

Excellent location, and very quiet. Weekends can be busy. WiFi ok, but not good. As the site is between two estuaries it can be very windy at times. Excellent for cyclists. Commanding views over the Dee estuary. easy walk into West Kirby, and 15 minutes by bike. One hour from home, and have been there many times and will go again.

local short break away
I visited here to assist a friend who has just become a caravanner, it was an ideal location to show her how everything works.
first visit
This was our first visit and we were not disappointed with the site. Good pitches, good weather excellent walks for the dogs. We stayed for 8 nights so were lucky to catch the fish and chip on both Thursdays and they were excellent. We will be back

Great weekend away
Enjoyed a weekend away at Wirral Country Park. Nice site close to Thurstaston beach which was good for dog walking. Lots of wildlife around - plenty of rabbits, squirrels and different species of birds. Very relaxing weekend.
Great find on our North-West tour
We stayed here on 2nd October as a stopover on our way to Blackpool. Lovely quiet site and we drove round it to pick our pitch - we chose a lovely quiet little corner which suited us very nicely. There are some with stunning views over the sea but they were all occupied (but we were very happy with our quiet little corner!). Next day we went on a Ferry across the Mersey tour which was fab and then on northwards up to Blackpool.
P.S. I've rated 4/5 for families but really cannot comment because there's just the two of us and we're normally out all day exploring and touring and only go back to our campsite to sleep and shower! - sorry!

Weekender
We visit Wirral generally for weekend breaks and find it very suitable for couples seeking a mixture of rest and exploration of the country park and estuary foreshore. There are good facilities for pre teen children but we have to date avoided school holidays so it may well be a lot more hectic at such times. Terrific Wardens who work hard to keep the site to the high standard expected. Good shopping is available within ten minutes making it suitable for last minute, subject to availability, breaks with little preparation.
First time visit to the Wirral.
Normally we stay on CLs, though have used Club sites a couple of times during our thirty years of Club membership, therefore we don't have a bank of site experiences to draw on. We had a function to attend, so for expediency booked in, from others experience and our observation while on site this was a good idea.
Arrival was prompt and efficient, finding a pitch was easy, just wish we had looked on foot first as there were a couple with estuary views to be had.
As per previous comments the facilities are becoming a little tired, but were well maintained.
Good walking and cycling to be had on the adjacent trails.
Overall very pleased and we certainly had our eyes opened to what the Wirral has to offer.

Great Site for a relaxing break
This site is great for a relaxing break, especially with the dogs, though got to admit it might not be too peaceful as it is very popular with families, so the children can be noisy at times.
Our first visit was a couple of years ago, very busy and lots of kids, this time we went out of school holiday times and it was far quieter, though equally as busy.
The wardens we extremely friendly, and they kept the site wonderfully clean, our hats go off to them as they seemed to be at full occupancy for the whole of our visit
