A lot better than expected

This campsite is a lot better than expected. I had preconceived ideas of what a Wirral campsite. Great for walking and cycling. The only down fall was the wardens. Greeted with 'what name is the book' then 'that £50' was very cold and not welcoming at all unfortunately it's become increasingly more common hence my review. But will return to the site regardless of this due to the great cycle routes and walking opportunities.

Fab place to go.

Really nice caravan park. Lots to do walking, cycling, visit Liverpool just a stones throw away. The wardens are very nice and helpful. We have been to this site several times and still keep going back.

Perfect Location but sadly neglected!

Been coming here for 20 odd years, great site, super location, facilities spotlessly clean BUT the  site looks like a 4X4 off road track. Only been open for a week and virtually all the grass wrecked by some careless idiotic drivers. Felt sorry for Wardens but why has there been no effort to attempt any repairs to GRASS! Needs urgent attention!

Very Disappointing

This is the first club site I have been to that disappointed me. A nice welcome and a great location. However the general maintenance and repair of the site totally dilutes the club brand. Is it a case that the warden no longer sees what needs doing because of the familiarity effect? An independent club manager needs to do an audit and formulate and action plan. A shame!

Quiet break

Had a nice quiet relaxing weekend last week. Ideal location to travel different places. Toilets and showers clean. Site looked a bit tired. Staff friendly.  Limited information in reception. Great chippy and indian restaurant near by.  Will be back again

1st Visit

This was our first visit to this site. The location  was ideal for the relaxation we were looking for. Staff were pleasant. The showers/toilets were always immaculate (and nice and warm). Would definately visit again as all of our expectations were met. Top marks 10/10.

Spring Break

We have stayed at this site many times and never cease to enjoy but this year I was disappointed to see that all the grass had been cut so short that together with the abuse from cars and caravans many grassed areas were a swampy, muddy eyesore. The wardens were great as always, toilets and showers spotless. This surprised me as I am sure that there were many muddy footprints being mopped by the wardens!

Helpful

Been to site many times - excellent location and managed by friendly polite wardens. Have assisted in trying to resolve problems with caravan - gas bottles and recently faulty caravan lights.  Nice site, nice people and great for the kid's and dog

We'll be back

We wanted somewhere to stay that was convenient to pop into Liverpool where our son is at Uni. The site was a very pleasant surprise, with its astounding views over the Dee Estuary and with pleasant beach walks. The ease of driving to Holyoke, parking the campervan for free and catching the train under the Mersey right to the centre (less than an hour's drive and train) is very much in the site's favour. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the shower and toilet block were clean and more than adequate. Other members were friendly. Enough space between pitches tom maintain your privacy if you are so inclined. Don't forget your rock pegs if you have an awning!
