An excellent location for visits to Liverpool, Mersey ferries, New Brighton and Port Sunlight, the local town of Heswall is also worth a visit. I stayed for 3 nights and will return as soon as i can to spend more time in Liverpool. The only negative comment i would make is the Shower block which could do with a refurbishment.
NICE SITE
Quite a busy but well run site I feel the site would benefit from a small toilet block at the bottom of the site near the the grass pitches other than that no complaints will visit again
Perfect Long Weekend
We were lucky enough to have a pitch looking out over the estuary and enjoyed a wonderful site in perfect weather. This site has so much to offer the visitor from sitting relaxing on site to venturing further afield. The walks and cycle routes are available directly off site and go on for miles. We enjoyed the walk across the sands to Hilbre Island from West Kirby the sea breezes cooling the sun as we watched the seals playing in the distance.
Due to the excellent weather we didn't see Liverpool or Chester but enjoyed a perfectly relaxing time enjoying the caravanning life! Next trip to Edinburgh can't come quickly enough!
Lovely site
I shall base my review on the site, not on the behaviour of other CC members, which is irrelevant.
Friendly welcome by the staff who explained the site to me with a fuss-free booking in.
I was fortunate to find a vacant pitch with a fantastic view of the estuary and Wales, I couldn't have wished for a better pitch.
The location, directly next to the Wirral Way, was perfect for my plans for the 5 days I was there, for cycling and geocaching.
The facilitities are very good and clean, and the site is well maintained and tidy. There is a playground for children and a Country park very close by too.
Oh, and the other members I met and chatted with were lovely and friendly.
I would definitely return.
Fabulous Site in Great Surroundings
Our first visit, but definitely not the last.
Excellent site with all the expected amenities.
Great for walking, cycling or just relaxing.
Pressurised by another camper to leave pitch early
This is a very nice site which we enjoyed very much , and the weather was glorious too. However , our stay was marred somewhat on the day of departure by a caravanning lady and her husband...At around 10:00 am they parked their caravan opposite us , blocking two other empty pitches up and then were hanging around with no apparent urgency. It was only when I started taking my awning down that the lady made a comment to her husband about, this is a nice pitch , and she then watched as I was deflating my inflatable awning " you've done that before " she said and continued to watch my every move. That's when the penny dropped , they wanted us off the pitch so they could dive in , before the twelve O'clock people arrived. So in true Yorkshire fashion, we stayed until the last minute , after all we've paid till 12 o'clock and don't see why we should rush to facilitate someone who can't play by the rules. I don't think the wardens were aware of what was taking place as they were probably cleaning the toilets and the couple in question were already on site on a different pitch but wanted a sea view. Bad manners of the highest order I think .
Ruined by arrogant stroppy member
On arrival my wife went ahead to look at pitches while I booked in, my wife put a marker on a pitch only to be ranted at and abused by a caravan owner. To save any further confrontation we moved to another pitch. Reported the incident to reception but they did not seem that interested. Shame on that member and shame on caravan club for not caring.
Lovely site
Our 1st visit and will be back, got a great pitch had some lovely walks from site, but if you don't want to move your motorhome be prepared to walk. Shower block clean and tidy, have been to other sites that need their shower blocks needing doing up more than this one.

Needs Attention
A very well located site with very good walking and cycling facilities adjacent to the site. There are no nearby shops or restaurants (apart from a daytime cafe just outside the site) but there are plentiful choices at nearby West Kirky and Heswall.
The site location is also very well paced for visiting all the places on interest on the Wirral with all destinations only a short drive away.
As mentioned by previous reviewers the toilet block is looking dated but always clean - however the site roads do need attention - large pot holes being filled by the wardens is not a solution to what looks like overdue maintenance.
The Club or the site wardens should ensure the visiting Fish & Chip van display a price list to avoid the obvious embarrassment to the lady served before me who was considerably short of funds!!

First visit
This was our first visit, it's an ideal location for walking and biking, also having a beach not far away. It is promoted as child friendly but there are no baby changing facilities which made showering a toddler very difficult. The toilets could also do with a little facelift. Some of the roads around the site need resurfacing as quite large holes which aren't ideal with all the rain.
