We are regulars at this site and we always have a wonderful time here plenty to do lots of places to visit , the Mersey ferry to Liverpool is always the first on our list , we use the Seacombe ferry terminal easy to find and plenty of free parking space, a lovely clean and well kept site very friendly wardens who always give you a warm welcome, we will be back again next year,
Tranquillity on my door step
Known of this site which is local to me for years, finally got round to staying in June this year, caught great weather and had one of the most relaxing breaks ever.
This site sits on the Wirral peninsula west coast with views across to Wales, the pitches are spacious and all offer a view nearly. Staff are amazing as site was full but they kept the facilities spotless and the grounds maintained and always had a smile and a chat with you.
Bring your bike and park the car, a very gentle 10 or 15 min flat ride puts you in West Kirkby for cafes, pubs and restaurants with a stroll along the prom with and icecream shopping to restock here too. Cycle the other way and you get too Neston and Ness gardens.
A short train ride can either drop you in Liverpool or Chester and a trip to New Brighton is a pleasant day out.
Great site one of the best I've stayed at am coming back soon as can book a week off.
Great location for visits to Wirral and Liverpool
Access to the site is very easy, but the speed bumps on the approach road referred to in the site information are very sharp indeed, and not all of them easily visisble.
Reception staff were friendly and took time to help us with bus timetables and internet access.
The vast majority of people on the site when we stayed had (sometimes multiple) dogs, and not all of them respected the dogs-on-leads rule, unfortunately.
Toilet block faciliies are good, but not the most modern on the network. Shower cubicles are a bit tight and water pressure adequate rather than generous. As very often the case on sites in the UK, toilet etiquettee is not always observed - finding a clean WC is a bit of a lottery. Maybe many caravanners have a toilet fairy at home!
The site layout is less car-park like than some sites which is a positive feature, and the views over the estuary gorgeous. Walking and cycling from the site is brilliant and un-challenging, and it is very worthwhile walking in-land away from the coastal path to find beautiful scenery and views. We did the walk to Hiber (?) islands on a beautiful sunny day, a very peasant outing and not strenuous, but a bit wet under foot.
To get to Liverpool by public transport there are several options, but we used the 471 (free wifi) from Heswall, parking in the carpark next to Aldi. The route terminates near the World Museum, where the Terracotta Warriers exhibition isshowing until October. Advance booking recommended.
Port Sunlight, is a worthwhile visit - retrace your route back to M53 jct 4 rather than following (as we did) a very wierd sat-nav route. After the visit we drove to Woodside Mersey Ferry terminal and did the Mersey cruise - enjoyable.
We ate one evening at the Cottage Loaf at the end of Station Road. It was ok, serving the usual pub food. There is a special lower price menu which was good - same food, slightly smaller portions.
A great place to stay
We stayed here for four nights and had a great holiday. This is a good location and we were lucky enough to get one of the pitches alongside the estuary. What a great view! When the tide is out you can walk across to Hilbre Island, which we did. You can easily walk to West Kirby and New Brighton is only a short ride away. If you like walking there is a local forest with a tea shop. Best coffee I've had for ages.
The weather was pretty poor when we stayed on this site and there was some local flooding. A contractor was working on site so improvements are already being made.
The fish and chip shop on Tuesday was a real bonus.
Lovely Site
We came in October last year and again last week. This is a lovely site, so handy for everywhere, I cannot fault it at all, and both times we’ve had a lovely stay, and this time we had a mini heatwave which was a bonus. We called to Irby Village Lee and Lau’s Chinese takeaway and had an excellent Chinese meal ( 4 of us and all were good) We shall be staying again.

Lexi at the Wirral
Stayed at the site for 2 nights in our campervan, Lexi.
Facilities were flooded on arrival because a torrential downpour.
Staff very helpful & had everything up & running in a couple of hours.
Great views across the Dee Estuary & good walks straight from the site along the
Wirral Circular Trail.
Friendly family site with a good playground for the kids.
Dog friendly & lots of walks & beaches nearby.
Good tv reception.
Toilet block clean & warm.
Plenty of wildlife on this quiet wooded site.
Fish & chip van comes on Tuesdays & I do recommend you use it. Delicious.
Lots to see & do nearby.
If you enjoy a good coastal walk or a bike ride this site is ideal.
We will be going back.

Triumph over Adversity
We arrived at 12 on opening day, it was a bitterly cold day, but a wonderful warm welcome from the team. They were battling against a frozen water supply and a broken heating boiler in the toilet block. Despite all the trouble they had including wrong boiler being delivered, burst pipe at washing up, trying to keep the gas heaters going in the loos, they kept smiling. Wishing them a good season they after such a difficult start.

Our first visit to the site in March 2018.
The site is in a quiet location near the river Dee. There are plenty of walks and cycle routes to explore.
The site is not huge and could well be quite crowded at the weekends and is a bit isolated and is not within easy walking distance of shops etc, but with a bike West Kirby is only 20 mins away. Some of the pitch areas were a little muddy due to the wet weather.
The facilities on site are well kept but a bit dated. The wardens are friendly and helpful.
The coast line near the site is very pleasant indeed and the views of North Wales are great.
A lovely relaxing site with great estuary views and walks.
We have stayed here twice now and fully intend to go again, The approach to the site is well signposted and the access is easy, Checking in at Reception is a pleasure with the really friendly wardens and the layout of the pitches leaves plenty of space for awnings and parking. In very wet weather some pitches can't be used due to surface water but there are plenty of others to choose from. The facilities are as good as anywhere and kept spotless. There's some basics sold in reception but an assortment of shops are only a short drive away. As the site is in a country park thers lots of walks to go on, our favorite is out of the site turn left and 150m away is an amazing beach to walk on that stretches for a good 2 miles with a path leading up the cliff to a footpath along the headland back to the site. This site really is worth a try, you wont be dissapointed.

March 2018
We always enjoy our stay at this site, the wardens hard working & eager to please as always; however the site has been well used over the years by many and is now showing signs of wear & tear!
The toilet block needs an upgrade, especially the showers. The first bay of pitches to the right look very sad and muddy! We were so pleased to hear that the Caravan Club is refurbishing these pitches and putting a paved pathway to the toilet block. We were told that this will involve closing this area for April 2018, it's a shame that this was not completed over the closed winter months.
This did not spoil our holiday as the area is good for dog walking and the cities of Liverpool & Chester not far away!
