This beautifully situated site is perfect for either a relaxing break or a walking holiday in the Dales. The pitches are reasonably level although some may require levellers and blocks.
The toilet block was always clean and well maintained by the friendly and extremely helpful wardens. There is a pleasant pub in the holiday park next door and the beautiful Dales village of Grassington close by has some great local shops and restaurants.
I really can recommend this site of a stay in 'God's own country'
A Gem
Stayed for the first time in March 2016, can't wait to go back. Wardens so friendly, quiet site, so clean all around. Plenty of local or distance walks around. There are facilities on a nearby leisure complex , including a nice pub should you require. Grassington easily walkable as well. This is a good base to visit North Yorkshire , it will not disappoint ,well done caravan club.
Lovely Site in Fab Setting
Really enjoyed the location and huge thumbs up from the children who loved the small but perfectly functional play area. Spotlessly clean with good recycling options.
Only minor grumble was that we would have brought our swimming gear had we known there was a pool on the site next door. Can this be added to the information about Wharfedale?
Return to Wharfedale
We returned to caravanning in the summer of 2015, having had a break of some 10 years due two work commitments. This was the first site we visited. Our second visit was over the weekend of the 10 March. The site is in a lovely location and for us was easy to get to. I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The toilet blocks do need some modernisation but they are kept clean. However, what is sad is that some dog owners do not clean up after their pets. There is a lovely dog walk around the site and we took advantage of the same with our dog. Some dog owning members took the time to pick up the mess and bag it and then leave the bag and contents on the floor. It would have to be a member as the bags were left within the gated area. This creates extra work for the wardens. On the positive side there is lots to,do,in the area, stunning scenery and the pub next door provides a good takeaway service. Would we go back? Yes, but Caravan Club, the facilities do need updating!

Enjoyable short break
We have just spent three nights at this site. It is our second visit and like it because of its location. The weather was mixed but it didn't stop us walking into Grassington and doing a couple of river walks. Buckden pike is a short drive away so we had a lovely walk in deep snow. The facilities were kept clean and tidy and we will definitely be back.

Nice, could be better
Stayed here in March 2016. First visit to this site, and the location initially looked lovely. What we did find, is that it's about a 1 hour walk into Grassington and back. OK for us, but for many motorhomers it may be a bit much. The choice of pitches is very good as you would expect from a Club site. The toilet block was kept spotlessly clean, though looks like it needed updated, getting a bit tired. There were 6 wardens on site, I suppose they'll be needed when the site is busy? I was in office when 2 wardens were booking in a new arrival- took ages, and poor communication with the Customer !!!!!! The one thing which really put us off this site was the overemphasis on "safety warning signs & and advice"....which was everywhere. Signs warning of dangerous woods; even being warned by a warden of the dangers of walking under trees .."in case something falls on your head". When we had a couple of inches of snow there was a large yellow sign placed at reception advising on the risks of snow and ice....really ???? Caravan sites are inherently safe places.... is it so necessary to point out "risks" at every opportunity?. All said, a lovely place in the Yorks Dales, with some great pubs if you are happy to walk. Note-Shops in Grassington don't have a great selection of food.

Beautiful Location
This site is set in one of England's most beautiful locations. The site is of a typically high standard. There is a really nice dog walk and good walks from the site. There is also a good, dog friendly, pub, the Gamekeepers, just a short walk away.
If you want to walk to Grassington there is a footpath all the way and there are many fell walks in the area.
The only negative was one of the staff members (a common problem with Caravan Club sites). When I told a member of staff that the chemical waste disposal point was blocked, her reaction was if it was my personal fault that it was blocked, which it wasn't!!

Peaceful,quiet break.
We visited for two nights on the opening day,to attend an owners club function in Ilkley. As would be expected ,the site was perfectly prepared and maintained by the friendly warden team.Lovely warm well maintained facilities make low season trips a pleasure. We were surprised that the site was over half full for the opening weekend. The location is second to none and distance from roads means very quiet stays. The only access road mentioned in the sites guide is very good and other approach routes are best avoided. They are tricky enough in winter but with main season traffic could well be a nightmare.Overall a super site and given the relative dearth of c.ls in this area, one which we will probably return to.
A wonderful site in a beautiful part of the country
We have been visiting this site for approximately 2-3 times a year for the last twenty years. As we do a lot of walking it's great that I do not need to drive as we can do a lot of walks from the site. The facilities are good, clean and what you expect the standard to be from the Caravan club.
If its peace and quiet and being able to chill out from the hustle and bustle of your busy life, then this is the site to visit.
One area that I feel could be improved is the path from the site to the back gate before you go down to Skirethorns Lane. We visit in all weathers and feel now that this area has worn away to the extent that it is very slippery with mud and large boulders and can be dangerous in the dark. Can I suggest covering the area by making a path of small chippings to minimise the risk of falling.
