This is truly a lovely family site, felt really welcome with our two little whirlwinds. Not just on the doorstep of the dales, more like through the front door and down the hallway into the drawing room of the dales. Everything is within reach giving plenty to do for a whole week or more.
The site is lovely and well kept with the daily chores and wardens moving like clockwork. Denise keeps a tight ship, you have been warned! Facilities are plenty and there is even a drying room.
Top marks all round with the exception of the overall mark. Let down by the latent and struggling WiFi although nowhere near as bad as a Clumber Park. I don't hold it against Wharfedale but cannot let it go without a mention. I suggest CC add another review stars mark for WiFi...
Great site
We love this site and have been a number of times. Great dog walks, lovely walk into Grassington, shops, cafes and pubs all dog friendly. There is a large camp site next door with static vans but it doesnt impact at all, location very quiet. Adjacent site has a pub and restaurant, prices very reasonable. If you arent keen on dogs would avoid this site as many peoole have dogs with them, but all well behaved. Sunny while we were there shich was a bonus. Staff helpful and very friendly
Almost as good as a CL!
Booked very late on Internet to go the next day (phenomenal weather forecast and it arrived!) and we arrived to find a peaceful site and a pitch (101) at the far end of the sight that was gloriously quiet and isolated to a large extent - only grass and limestone walls behind and views down the valley. Usual facilities and friendly staff who will let you stay until the afternoon if there are places available - thank you and well done. 30 mins walk into Grassington using roadways but there are alternate ways if you can read an OS map. Great walks up and down the Wharfe valley and beautiful scenery to explore. Even though we don't 'do' Club sites we will return!
Wharfdale May 2016
We had a lovely weekend with out 2 year old on this site.
As dog owners it was nice that there was a dog walk along a footpath around the site. Perhaps this is one of the reasons there were a lot of dogs on the site.
There was a nice childrens play area in the middle of the site, although there was not much for toddlers, it was more for the bigger kids. It seemed to occupy them though!
Grassington was a lovely little place and had some nice pubs and a spar selling the essentials.
We didnt walk to grassington so we are not sure if it is possible to get there without walking down the main road which was narrow and busy.
site staff were welcoming and friendly and overall the site had a fairly relaxed feel. There is a spa and pool in the adjacent holiday park along with a restaurant although we didn't go there it looked nice and convenient!
The toilet block was not the most modern but it was clean enough and had plenty of toilets and showers.
I would definitely recommend this site.
First trip in our caravan
We booked the wharfedale caravan site for our first trip away. When we arrived my wife went and paid etc and said the staff were helpful. We then went to find a pitch plenty of space on the pitches and everyone around us were very friendly and even helped push my caravan onto the pitch as the wife was walking down with my girls. My wife took the girls to the play Park and said that it was a very basic Park. I loved the dog walk area and enjoyed exploring the dis used quarry with my camera. Overall a very pleasant and nice site.
Another fabulous stay.
We keep coming back, this site is just perfect for us with 2 energetic terriers the walks around the site are wonderful. The site is kept spotless and the facilities are what you would expect from a Caravan Club Site. You really cannot beat the Yorkshire Dales and this site is perfectly placed to explore the countryside by foot, by bike, by bus and car. We are coming back again and again.
Grassington site review
Just back from a week at Grassington, for the first time. The site is well placed for exploring the Dales and within walking distance of Grassington, a pretty village with lots of dog friendly cafes and shops. Nearby Skipton has a good variety of shops and a canal where you can go on a cruise.
The site is well looked after with good ammenities and friendly wardens. TV reception is varied but there is a booster system.
The ajoining park home site has a smashing pub that serves excellent food. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. there are loads of pathways and walks from the site.
A visit to the cheese factory at Hawes is a must (lots of free cheese samples) plus a museum and cheese making demo. Aysgarth falls also worth seeing, there is a pub there that does good food and is dog friendly (also a CL at back of pub).
Nice Area
We spent 4 nights, a nice area, plenty to do, lovely walks and also the best dog walk we have been on.
The site very tidy and clean,we had a grass pitch looking over a wild flower field with rabbits etc, very nice. The Warden came round as we were setting up,he was very worried about his grass, concerned that we would have a ground sheet, something we never use if we are on grass. also we had to move our water and waste containers daily,we are always careful on grass if it's been rainng so not to ruck the surface. The adjoining site was noisy, thump, thump, all day with them breaking up stone, the toilet block is very old and in need of up dating, we didn't have the best of weather, after a day out site seeing we came back to a plastic chain across the entrance to the top site, because the Warden didn't want anyone else on that part of the site because of his grass, after getting soaked going back to reception to find out why we couldn't get to our caravan,we were not to pleased. couldn't they just tell the next vans booking in this area is out of bounds. very silly.
We may return one day.

Two Night Stay.
Hi Me and the wife are new to Caravaning and this was our 3rd trip away, the site is well laid out and we have two dogs and there are good dog walks just next to the site, we had a problem with electrics and the site warden helped us fix them first rate service,
and we will visit again.
Quiet, good walks
Having read latest reviews we nearly did not visit. Glad we did. Whilst the site was busy it was quiet, but it was during school term time. Good dog walks and longer rambles from the site. Nice to be able to walk into Grassington for a meal. The facilities all clean and in full working order. We will definitely visit again.
