Lovely site, will return

Stayed six nights in june although weather was not good the site was great. Good size pitches, helpful wardens, shower, toilet facilities always kept spotless, and set in such an attractive part of the country. We are already planning a return next year.

Dogs Holiday

I watched the video clip regarding this site, and the warden said it was the perfect holiday for dogs. Well my black Lab Ella would certainly agree! the walks around the site and using the dales way along the river suited us both perfectly. As with all the CC sites the wardens and the amenities were excellent and spotlessly clean. The dog will drag me back, I'm sure!

Gradely Yorkshire welcome

Great site with very helpful friendly wardens. Brilliant for walking with or without dogs. Facilities are more than adequate and very, very clean although as other reviewers have commented they are looking a little tired. We haven't a family but felt that the facilities for children are rather restricted.

I love this site!

I don't really want to give this site the review it deserves as I already struggle to get booked especially at weekends. However I really do love it! Yes the toilet block could do with upgrading but it's always clean, tidy and warm. It's location is superb especially if you have dogs and like walking. The wardens just now are great. Friendly and helpful. Skipton is really handy for big shops but Grassington is walking distance (as long as you don't mind hills) and has a useful Spar. The Gamekeeper serves decent pub grub although just now has temporary loos as it is expanding. We love coming here but would be quite happy if  everyone else gave it a miss!!!

Peace and Quiet-maybe

Firstly it is a quiet and peaceful site, and we would have given it 5 stars except for two faults. We originally pitched our caravan 2 pitches away from the toilet block. We then put up our awning and then I asked our neighbour "does that extractor fan go for 24 hours" "Yes" came the reply "but you only notice it if you're tuned in" and guess what we were tuned in. We found it so invasive we couldn't hear the birdsong over breakfast and we moved! Next we know lots of people caravan because they have dogs and generally the dogs are well behaved. But across and down from us were two dogs which yapped the whole time! (even the owner sounded fed up with them). Should we have complained to the wardens, probably but we are not doggie people and we know so many people are so we put up with it. BUT, the wardens were around the site all the time, they should have heard them and spoken to the owners. Our general dislike of dogs is not linked to the dog just the terrible owners. It might be nice for the Caravan Club to welcome dogs and dog owners, but if you have a policy on "good dog behaviour" then honour it please for all of us who go to a quiet and peaceful site and want just that, not yapping dogs.

tranquility in a beautiful setting

So peaceful. A lovely site set in glorious countryside. The only thing that kept us awake was the birds but can't complain as its their home not ours. Very helpful, friendly wardens. Nice walk around the quarry with great views. Site is very handy for Skipton which I haven't been to since I was a boy 55 years ago.

Very good site

As I said above, a very good site. The lost ticks are not because of any failings on the wardens part, it's just getting on a bit and the facilities are tired and need upgrading. I disagree with another reviewer I thought the wifi was OK - better than my home wifi actually.

Lovely site in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales

We spent 5 nights here in early June and loved this site. Well cared for by the friendly wardens. We walked to the Gamekeepers Inn on the adjacent static site for drinks and a meal - very nice, and the walk took us about 10 minutes. Another night we walked to the Old Hall Inn at Threshfield - even nicer! This took us about 20 minutes, a pleasant walk but not recommended after dark. The walk into Grassington, a beautiful small market town, was 45 minutes or so. Some lovely walks leave from the car park there. We enjoyed our stay here very much - I hadn't realised how lovely the Dales are - and we look forward to a return trip.

site location

The site is in a great location for walking, the dogs loved it, a pub or 2 to walk to was a bonus and the site itself is spotless, no children cycling round either, more suited to adults due to location, had a great week end there, will return in the near future, Ann
