A good site but with a few flaws

After staying at this site with 3 young children I have realised some fundamentals flaws in it. Firstly, was the child's shower room, the shower head leaked the hair dryer was damaged. This could have been spotted by a cleaner easily. Also, the site had a lot of dogs but some owners like to leave their doggy delights around - disgusting! if you are responsible enough to have a dog, have the decency to clear up after it!It's definitely not my job nor the park wardens. Chemical waste - the point was standard as all other caravan club site we have stayed at. However, a water saving device fitted to the taps meant you couldn't get a good enough pressure to clean the 'unmentionables' away sufficiently, without being soaked! If you stay here you will understand. Finally, moving pitches. Yes this site has wonderful views and some of the pitches do not have perfect sea views however, I feel that once you've been allotted a pitch (first come first serve basis) you should stay there for the remainder of the visit except in exceptional circumstances. If this doesn't suit the site perhaps a better booking would be advised so that people are allocated pitches before arriving this way there cannot be any arguments and groups can site nearer to each other. I hope the above points do not sway you from coming to the site as the area is outstanding and there are some fantastic places nearby. St Nectarn's waterfall, bossiney cove and boscastle which are a must to see.

Beautiful Views

This was our final stop in Cornwall in early July & I think we saved the best till last. Unfortunately it was for one night only. We had a great pitch, overlooking the coast, non ehu, electric pitches were available but we weren't prepared to pay an extra £7.90 for it! The sunset was just beautiful, we sat outside all evening just enjoying the views and our wine! Will definitely come back.

First visit to Cornwall

Just returned from Trewethett Farm a lovely site with spectacular views. Wardens very helpful & pleasant, the shower & toilet block always clean. It can get very windy especially if you pitch right on the front, we had one scary night when we thought we might lose our awning. The path down to the beach is quite challenging, we had a bit of a problem with the cows who took a great interest in our dog a bit scary. We spent a few days at Blackrock Beach Widemouth Bay near Bude. The beach is dog friendly and has a car park £5 for the full day, there are toilets & a café.As previous people have mentioned its unfortunate that some lazy inconsiderate people do not clean up after their dogs, it reflects badly on responsible dog owners. However we had a lovely holiday in Cornwall lots to do & see, we plan to return next year & will stay at Trewethett Farm again.

Trewethett Farm

Only stayed a couple of nights and will definitely go back again. The views are amazing. Big site but all spread out with plenty of room. The warden and his wife were very friendly and helpful. Bit of a hike to the bus stop but easy to get to Tintagel and Boscastle. No bus service to Port Issac. Buses can have delays due to busy road to and from Bude. Used the portacabin showers which were brilliant, always clean and plenty of hot water. Great cliff walks but wouldn't tackle with young children as narrow in places with steep drops. Fish and chip van calls twice a week. Looking forward to going back and having a longer stay, book well in advance if you require an electric pitch.

stunning views, extremely windy

the two main things going for this site is the stunning views, if you are one of the front pitches, and the proximity to the coastal path. his site is open to the elements and the windiest site we've stayed on, with sea mist most evenings, it was too cloudy to see the sun set. The in house entertainment is watching who can stake a front pitch the quickest once they see someone packing up. The coast path is quite challenging in places and the cows are ever present, so be careful if you have dogs. Nice enclosed dog walk where the dogs can exercise off lead. Bus will pick you up at site entrance, and its a short walk from the entrance to the waterfall

Superb site shame about the guests.

The site is amazing and is always run good by the wardens, this time was the same too. The problems we found this time was some of the most disgusting guests we have ever come across, the refuse to pick up after their dogs. We arrived on the 8/7/2016 our stay was for almost 2 weeks and noticed from almost day 1 the amount of dog mess not getting picked up, not just in the dog walking area. Someones dog had a dicky tummy for a full week and that the owner didn't clean up fully after their dog. The walk up into the top field and around the bins in front of the shower block is other areas. The wardens can only do so much to stop this from happening (but in their defence they all did a wonderful job in keeping it clean and tidy for everyone) and I strongly believe that anyone caught not cleaning up after their pets should be fined on the spot, the next time they do it banned from for sites for 6 months. Its not just the site location and the wardens that makes a good nice site its also the GUESTS that stay there, We have 2 dogs and we clean up after our dogs all the time. One day my dog had a dicky tummy, we cleaned it best we could then asked the wardens for some water so we could clean up after our dogs (we didn't leave it for someone else to do it for us). Other than that the site is amazing and is in a great location for walkers and families. This is our 4th time we have been to the site and plan to return next year. We have given this site a 5 star overall rating for the site and wardens, if it was for the cleanliness of some of the guests it would get a 1.

Another Great Holiday at Trewethet Farm

We have a son who has Down's Syndrome with specific needs and the Wardens on this site have never failed to accommodate us. They are always friendly and happy in their work. The site has spectacular views and every part of the site is spotless. It is a well placed site to visit places in the area. Looking forward to spending longer there next year - well done everyone.

An idyllic setting

Great site and staff but it would be useful if on arrival they urged caution re awnings. This is the most windy site we have ever stayed at, we put the awning up on a calm day, went out and then a squall blew up and even though the awning was well anchored the wind was so strong the awning had damaged the caravan.

As good as we anticipated

The location is spectacular with very dramatic sunsets. Straight onto the coastal path. Wardens very helpful and site spotless. We had to pitch on the top field which has great views. The nearest facility was the porta cabins which are extremely poor by anybody's standards. This is no fault of the wardens and I have reported it directly to HQ. We paid for a weeks broadband just for basic stuff (emails, online paper etc). This was hardly worthwhile due to speed of service. Overall a top site.

Truly spectacular views

We live in Cornwall so are well used to beautiful coastal views but this site has a truly spectacular outlook. The main facilities are fine but the portacabin ones are poor. This is not the easiest site to reach with a medium sized outfit and the CC published directions are not specific enough and are rather ambiguous - this could be easily addressed. Once there, however, it is well worth it although as you might expect on a Cornish clifftop it can be rather windy!
